Description: Set in the heart of Horsham town centre, Filippo's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria is an independent, family-run classic Italian restaurant. It has received a 5 point rating for Food Health and Hygiene. It is fully licensed and offers a wonderful range of authentic Italian and Sicilian cuisine. Some sample dishes from the menu include homemade garlic bread topped with melted mozzarella cheese and onion, thin and crispy home made, hand tossed pizzas, Pasta con Sarde, home made Lasagne al Forno, risottos or some authentic seafood pasta dishes combined with mussels, clams and prawns and much more. All meals are freshly cooked to order, attracting families, professionals and everyone who enjoys good food. The dining areas are on the ground floor, first floor and outside on the terrace. Filippo's is situated close to Piries Place and East Street, and right next to Piries Place multi-storey car park. Carfax, Swan Walk and the West Street shopping thoroughfare are all within a few minutes walking distance, making it the perfect spot to enjoy some Sicilian specialities.

Not good overall really. Firstly we were sat on a table for two beside a pillar covered in mirrored glass - perfect if you like looking at yourself or fellow diners during your meal.

The starters are extremely over priced for what they are which we think would put people off eating a starter to begin with. These sort of prices you would expect to see in London or perhaps a fine dining restaurant.

There are only 3 white wines to choose from on the menu too which personally didnt give much choice considering italy is known for it's wines.

Additionally apart from the first glass of wine we were left to pour the wine ourselves during the meal - this really is not acceptable unless of course you are eating at a cheaper eatery.

The price of the food in this restaurant reflects a la carte and that it definitly is not. The food portions are huge - far too much food on the plate and perhaps off putting.

The dessert was of course not sampled being far too full from the main course and starter. Eating cuisine like this should be small tasteful portions to enable you to enjoy the flavours from each course.

Overall review is over-priced over-sized portions.

Enthusiastic, jovial reception and great service. Family gathering included teenagers with varying degrees of "adventurousness" but all tastes and fads were catered for quite happily.
Lovely setting, despite earlier reviewers' comments about its location - I thought it added to the charm of the place!

We were invited unexpectedly for a meal with friends. The food was excellent, good portions and very well presented and we were all able to choose meals of a different type . All five of us very much enjoyed our evening. Both the manager and his head waiter were very welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. This restaurant compares favourably with others in Horsham of similar type and deserves a larger clientele on a regular basis

I recently celebrated a special birthday in Filippo's, I could not have asked for better or more friendlier service. The food was all delicious and 19 people thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
There are so many Italian food chains where the meals are the same in every restaurant, it is a pleasure to find an individual restaurant of character, Lucky old Horsham to have a Filippo's !!

Decided to try this restaurant for a family meal. The staff were very welcoming, the menu was comprehensive (perhaps too much so) and the food was great. However, the music was a bit too loud and rather eclectic (would have preferred something more authentic for an Italian restaurant). My wife was given the wrong meal but it was similar to what she had ordered and very good so we didn't complain. The seats were not comfortable and it felt a little claustrophobic (not helped by the large man sitting behind me with his chair well out). The prices were reasonable but I would prefer to add a tip on myself rather than having it automatically included on the bill. Overall would like to award 3 and a half but it wasn't good enough for a 4.
