Description: Housed in a 16th Century building in the historic town of Horsham, Restaurant Tristan opened in 2008 and has been a firm favourite with local foodies ever since. Inside, original wooden beams contrast with contemporary style to create an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Chef and Proprietor Tristan Mason worked in top restaurants like The Greenhouse and Mirabelle before becoming Head Chef at The Hare where he achieved his first Michelin Star. The menu at Restaurant Tristan is predominantly British with some creative French influences, with dishes like terrine of pheasant and turbot with truffle risotto taking centre stage. Ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible and the extensive wine list is designed to complete this truly unforgettable dining experience.

Food was amazing, service, atmosphere was excellent. This is a top end restaurant and did not disappoint. Presentation of food was to a very high standard, and the taste was exquisite. Would definitely recommend to anyone for a special occasion.

The restaurant was already fully booked for Valentines day, so took my partner for a meal the day before. This was our first time at Restaurant Tristan and it will definetily not be the last. The food was superb and the service was excellent. For the quality of service and food, I consider this good value for money and I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to everyone and will be letting all my friends and family know about this gem.

We went for my birthday last night. Had the 3 course lunch menu, £24 per person, excellent value... You could pay that in a pub... My daughter's first experience... Her comment was the best pudding ever.

We have eaten here on several occasions for both lunch and dinner. The warmth of the welcome, the service and critically the quality of the food are all exceptional. The Michelin star was well deserved. A real gem that compares well with other established restaurants with 2/3 Michelin stars.

We had given Michelin places a miss since a bad experience in Chez Bruce last year but the excellent reviews for Tristan and the fact that he is on the up tempted me here.

It was all top class and worthy of Michelin status. Great value at lunch time and as a bonus a pre starter smoked salmon velouté was thrown in. Food is all very clever with a lot of bits and pieces on the plate but it is flavoursome and perfectly cooked. Portions are a bit on the nouvelle cuisine side but there is a continual supply of bread on offer so you will not leave hungry. Soufflé for desert was beautifully done.

Service was excellent; informed and attentive but friendly. The three staff did a really good job in an almost full dining room.
