“Very nice food for decent prices”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

I visited here to meet up with some friends I hadn't seen in a while. We had a lovely evening, the atmosphere was warm, the staff friendly and the food was very good value for money. The only thing I would say was that we had to wait a while to be served... but they were very busy!

“Not amazing.”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

Flaming Grill Pub Co. - ordered the rib and wing combo, £7 or so. Ribs were tiny with barely any meat, sauce was very overpowering and tasted like a packet sauce (it's advertised as a Heinz sauce and it shows)
Wings were a bit better, not amazing however. Chips were small and overcooked.
Service was pub service, but staff were genuinely friendly and responsive so no complaints, though if you have paperwork and tasks to complete it might be a better idea to carry them out in private rather than behind the bar; it is very frustrating for customers to have to stare at your back for twenty minutes while the only other member of staff is serving.
For the price I paid I felt I received a fairly sub-par meal, but will simply avoid in the future. Easy food for a lazy afternoon but don't expect to get any more than what you have paid for.

“Great Food, Friendly staff.”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

Went there with 8 people for a birthday celebration for by Son and His other half. The food was well presented and tasted good, something for everyone on their menu. The Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food did not take too long to come.

The Steaks were cooked how each person wanted, so all in all I would definitely go back again

“Another good gastropub”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

I have visited this pub a number of times over the past decade or so but didn't for a while and then went recently under it's re-branding as a Flaming Grill pub.

Must say....I like the re-branding, it's worked well!

It's a good pub atmosphere with plenty of seating and different areas so you can be outside, in the eating area or in the main pub area, wherever you feel most comfortable.

The menu selection is pretty massive and the steaks and burgers sizes range from above average to massive, if you have a stomach like a small wheelie bin, give the £9.99 challenge a go....24oz of beef plus a load of other stuff....bit much for me!

I had the Italian meatball burger, wasn't that great.....spaghetti sauce in a burger means you can't pick it up, the ordinary cheeserburgers looked better, one friend had one that was supposed to be super hot but it was only a little spicy, these are things that didn't bother me massively though as the food was still good quality and even though they said it was going to take a bit longer than usual, it wasn't a really bad delay.

Prices are very reasonable, a touch more than a Wetherspoons but much better quality.

There's a barman there with glasses who was most entertaining, he kept smashing things, he also was trying to be Tom Cruise in cocktail and kept throwing this bottle around, the final straw was when he dropped it and it went shooting out of the bar and across the floor, his manager told him off....ha ha!

Will definitely go again.

“Wonderful English Pub with great food”
Reviewed June 5, 2012

As a frequent traveller to Horsham I was still insearch of a decent pub until I accidently stumbled accross the Sussex Barn, Its location is in a wonderful residential area - were it sits nice and snug. First thing that hits you when you walk in is the most amazing smell of Food. I go in for pints of wonderful Guinness but the smell (wonderful yet discreet) of food overwhelms me. Very friendly and professional staff, great open and spacious layout and in a wonderful modern setting. Great ambience. Food portions are massive, inexpensive, top quality and fresh. They also almost know how to pour a decent Guinness and if Im watching generally get it right!!!
