Description: The Greets Inn at Warnham is an historic village pub, parts of which date back to the 14th Century. Inside this delightful village inn is an inviting bar serving Cask Marque accredited ales and a superb selection of wines. The cosy restaurant makes dining under the heavy beamed ceiling of the inn an absolute treat, with menus serving fabulous dishes made using locally sourced Sussex produce – it truly is some of the best rustic country dining to be found in and around the Horsham area. A relaxed ambience makes spending time with family and friends a real joy, especially when the open fires are roaring and the ever-hospitable proprietors, Duncan & Natalie Entwistle, start roasting chestnuts and marshmallows. The Greets Inn is a place for shaping memories to last a lifetime, as well as enjoying fabulous food in the Horsham area. In the warmer months, you can relax in the landscaped garden, which quickly becomes an extension to the restaurant, with eating ‘al fresco’ alongside the colourfully planted borders a highlight of summer. The Greets Inn is at the heart of Warnham village life, attracting food-lovers from the wider Horsham area and beyond who regularly visit to enjoy a true taste of Sussex.

Calling in at near Dresda Engineering, (The best Triumph and Triton mechanics on the planet), I sought out an excellent gastro-pub in the Rusper area. My wife and I loce great gastro pubs and the Greets Inn delivered on all levels, Friendly service, Excellent country pub food, Delightful atmosphere, great value. Can't fault it. Very good menu and specials including really nice home made chicken liver pate. Judging form all the food we saw coming from the kitchen, it all looked great. I had the burger which was far above average and the hand cut chips were divine - read: Worth the calories ;) Highly recommended.

We wanted somewhere to celebrate Christmas with friends, we chose Greets after looking at Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed.

We had pre-ordered our choices from the Christmas menu by e-mail and so we were served our 3 courses quickly and efficiently. We had made some small changes to a couple of menu items when ordering and each course was still served correctly as we had ordered it.

The food was very good and very good value for money. The pub was festively decorated and had a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant had loads of character and had a log fire going, however unfortunately our table was in line with the corridor to the kitchen and the back entrance door and there was a cold draft.

We all enjoyed our meal at Greets and would not hesitate to recommend the Greets Christmas meal menu, food and service.

This was our first time visit (but certainly not the last) to The Greets. We were meeting friends so this was a great half way point. As usual we checked it our on Tripadvisor so were pretty sure it would be good for a pre-booked Sunday Lunch for 8 people (including our noisy kids !)

The pub is warm & homely and just the like a picture postcard English county pub with an open fire and low beams.....

The staff - without exception - were really friendly and helpful (even thought the pub was very busy) and the food......Excellent. Sunday Lunches are simple to cook but difficult to get all the combinations right. Between the table we ordered a combination of Turkey and Pork Sunday lunches and they all went down a treat. The Turkey was great and the Pork was superb (with great crackling!) great potatoes/ huge home made yorkies......

WARNING ! The kids portions are BIG ! :-) Great if you want to pinch your kids leftovers ! Yum :-)

Deserts were great and the kids deserts were BIG (not the usual tiny scoop of cheap icecream)

We were the usual noisy table with 2 sets of parents and kids but we didn't manage to fluster the young (but well trained) staff even though we tried !

The Greets is great. Its going to be a regular stop for us now...the only disappointment is we live 25 miles away ......

ENJOY IT - WE DID - AND YOU WILL TOO !

Perhaps X Factor was far to engaging for the folk of West Sussex to venture out a couple of weekends ago?! Arrived at the pub, about ten people there and met by a young man who left his personality at home and was shown to our table. I saw one staff member smile once throughout our service the rest of the time, everything was an effort. The food was served on STONE COLD plates......couldn't be bothered to wait a long time again for food to be put onto warmed plates! Felt that as we weren't 'locals' then we really shouldn't be there. Such a shame but we'll stick to The Star in Rusper from now on!!

Hi,
Thank you for taking time to post a review.
We are really sorry that you did not enjoy your evening with us a couple of Sundays ago. Our young waiter you encountered has just started with us and he may have been a little nervous, he is certainly a lot more confident now.
There is no excuses for cold plates and I have to say this is very unusual as the guys in the kitchen normally ensure that plates are warm with the exception of when there is salad on the plate.
As for being 'overrated' that is clearly your view, which is not shared by many others. On occasions like all businesses we do get things wrong and would have much preferred to have rectified your complaint on the evening.
I do hope that you will give us another chance in the future.

Kind Regards

Duncan Entwistle
