Didn't read any reviews beforehand like I normally would due to this place being our only option. We were greeted by a very friendly guy on reception which was welcomed. The hotel itself needs a good clean and has clearly let itself go recently. We had a double room, the bed was comfortable and linen and pillows were clean and very soft. At first glance the room was ok but could have done with a vacuum and the bathroom wasn't very clean.
The hotel is also used as temporary accommodation however the people we spoke to were lovely and friendly and there was little or no noise.
Breakfast wasn't great. Some cereal was out of date, as were the butter packs. The full English was microwaved with very undercooked eggs. Not a great experience.
The location is very good with a pleasant short walk into the town centre.
Would I come back? No. Would I recommend? No. This however doesn't take away from the friendly staff.
This place is very overpriced. I would have been happy paying £40 but £75 was ridiculous.

Initial impressions were made at the reception desk- nice friendly staff. The family room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Beautiful big garden- perfect for the kids to play in. Full english breakfast made to order each morning. Very enjoyable stay.

When i came to the wimblehurst hotel i was greeted by a friendly receptionist made me feel welcome and helped me up the stairs with my suitcase which i was pleased with.
The decoration of my room was pretty basic but at the same time very clean.but the bathroom was quite small but an all right size same with the room. The breakfast was quite nice enjoyed it alot. Overall i had a nice stay but i think the price i paid was quite expensive could have been a bit cheaper.

I found the room quaint and a long way up the stairs with a heavy suitcase. Breakfast was actually quite nice, peaceful and made to order tasty. I think it depends on who works when because things went downhill steadily when I tried to return on someone's off week.

They do apparently have family visitors with young ones so the prams in the entryway hint at the possibility of noise, which I did encounter one evening but this was later and mostly rowdy voices over a soccer match.

I however was informed I had to stay elsewhere for lack of space but a colleague who did have a room was told he was the only one having breakfast? I was also informed that a later arrival would produce a charge for a night that I was not staying there for and when I cancelled my remaining stay with them this charge (threat) was removed.

It sits about a mile or more from the train station in a windy road mess made longer than it should be. The closest restaurants are a pub and a chain western restaurant chain place.

So the attempt was made and some success enjoyed by the lady of the house but her replacement during her off-time seemed less receptive.

My current location while out of town shines so bright it leaves this B & B in a shadowy eclipse. Not bad but clearly better choices exist.

This hotel doesn't even deserve 2 stars. The room obviously hasn't had a good clean for a while as there are cobwebs all round the ceiling. The walls are grubby, the bathroom is disgusting, the breakfast was ok, but having looked at the state of the cutlery and crockery the last thing I felt like doing was eating off it. The cleaning lady should be sacked. This might be a 2 star hotel but it has -2 star standards.
