“More a one to watch rather than must visit”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013

This Premier Inn looks like a thirties pub which has an extension tacked on to it.

Location is very good close to the underground and handy for central London but it does adjoin a very busy main road at the front and the railway line to the rear and certainly in our room the noise proofing wasn't great - adequate but not good. Light sleepers may have an issue.

Starting to look tired and smelt of cigarette smoke in common areas. Worryingly there was broken car glass around plus a sign posted by the Met asking for all satnavs and even suckers and marks to be removed indicating there is an issue with car crime in the area so care required. Dripping and overflowing gutters and litter also.

Rooms to usual Premier standard, basic but clean and well tended. Service was slow on check in and a number of people were waiting for their rooms and complaining at the delays - obviously the hotel has a high occupancy rate and turnover and keeping up is an issue.

Pricing was high at £129 for the night however given we were visiting for the FA cup final occupancy in north London was probably full so the prices were jacked up to reflect this, I wouldn't have been happy to pay this price for this standard normally.

Breakfast wasn't up to the usual Premier Inn standards either - undercooked, not warm enough and food all over the floor.

Overall I suspect that this is a perfectly acceptable place to stay - at the right time and the right price so perhaps we chose the wrong time and paid the appropriate price for it !!

Room Tip: 314 overlooks the main road and is noisy

This hotel is all about the location. Yes it's not close to central London (your about 40 minutes away on the tube / overground), however the fact that it is so close to the station means that in reality, your actually not as far away from London as you would be of you plumped for a hotel more central but further away from the tube. We were situated next to the line and could barely hear the trains flying by so I wouldn't say that's an issue. The hotel also has free parking, making it brilliant for getting to by car too. We didn't visit the pub so cannot review that however it did seem to be busy so that always looks like a good sign. The rest was your usual premier inn experience. The only gripe I have with premier inns is that they never have a plug by the side of the bed which means that if you use your phone all day, your putting it across the room to charge for the night. Annoying if you want an alarm on your bedside table or to use your phone for whatever reason in bed whilst it is charging.

This isn't a bad hotel at all but it's looking a bit tired and would benefit from refurbishment. Our room was spotless but quite a walk from reception - up staircases and down a few corridors! It was fairly quiet at least! It would not suit anyone with a mobility problem although perhaps you would be accommodated closer to reception. The breakfast was standard Premier Inn quality so not of a fine quality but plenty available to give yourself a good start to the day and a wide choice. We noticed a fire door left open near the stairs a couple of times which we pointed out to reception. Had I been staying on my own I would have been very unhappy as it was clearly a security issue. Speaking of which the other downside is the car park as although it's free and large it's unsecured. I moved my car nearer to reception at the earliest opportunity as there was glass in several places that looked like car windows had been smashed. Location to London is pretty good- about 40 - 45 minutes by tube and there was a frequent service. Although we were near the lines, we weren't unduly disturbed by trains but perhaps it's because we overlooked the street. There wasn't a lot of tea/coffee in the room- quite paltry but reception responded immediately when we told them. Staff were friendly and helpful in reception and restaurant. I wouldn't stay again if I'd come by car as I'd rather pay and relax about the parking to be frank. And I wasn't confident about the security as anyone could have bypassed reception through the firedoor left ajar.

Does what it say on the box! Surprisingly quiet room, despite being next to the railway line. Super comfy bed and friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast! Good location - can get into cdentral London in 30 minutes by train or tube.

I had to be in Harrow for a meeting which didn't finish till 21-30. I had another meeting in Birmingham in the morning and didn't fancy driving late at night so chose the closet hotel I could. A couple of points to raise about staying here. The rooms are in a block and seperate from reception. The main issue however was the proximity of the railway. I didn't really notice the local trains, however the inter city ones made the room shake! Just something to be aware of in case you are alight sleeper.

My wife and I stayed for one night and decided to stay here and get the tube into central London as it was easy to drive too and very near to Kenton tube. Having stayed in a good few Premier Inns we found this one to be quite tatty, and in need of some refurbishment. It is also quite noisy especially with a ground floor room and a guest in the room above who liked to stomp around in the morning. As you walk into the accomodation building you walk past two cages full of dirty towels and sheets, and the corridors smelled a bit damp.

On the plus side the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpfull, and I would probably go back if given a room on the top floor, and due the proximity of the tube station ( about 30 - 40 minutes to Leicester Square.

Room Tip: Higher floors away from the railwayline

Pleasant service, clean rooms with basic facilities (TV, kettle, warm air heater) and now 30 mins free wi-fi. Shame about the positioning of the place right next to the railway line...its not the quietest of places to stay. Also a shame there's no lift and the parking is limited (and chargeable without the guest slip visible).
The beefeater restaurant is very good though and the breakfast is great.

Room Tip: Be aware that the restaurant is not on the ground floor so may maybe not perfect for some. I used th...
