Bit of an unusual review this as we didn't actually stay at the hotel although friends were - we wanted to put something special in the room for them as a welcome.

I contacted Eddie Graham who arranged everything beautifully. In addition to our request, he added some extra touches, making the presentation look stunning and including a personal note.

As we live locally, there is rarely a reason to stay overnight but we do go for afternoon teas and drinks from time to time; the staff are always friendly and courteous - not just Mr Graham!

Went with my daughter and some friends to a fun night of murder mystery, 1920's themed but optional to dress up or not. The cast of the mystery were very entertaining. The food was delicious and the wine flowed. (Though I had soft drinks instead which wasn't a problem) I would recommend it to all.

We have used this hotel for over 15 years each time we come to London. The rooms have been completely refurbished to an excellent 4 star standard since Best Western took over this hotel. It is situated just outside harrow on the old Redding road. It is amazing to see such a rural setting in London. It is so peaceful and quiet with acres of landscaped gardens, we always take a stroll down the paths and round the lake each time we come here. After our walk we go to the hotel restaurant who provide us with a hearty and delicious breakfast. Do not miss the wonderful carving of a monkey by the fireplace.
We arrived here late at night after a long haul flight. The receptionist was extremely helpful and sent us a plate of sandwiches to our room after noticing how tired and hungry we looked. We will continue to be regular customers at this our special secret retreat.

Stayed at the hotel on business primarily used for location. When I arrived and discovered the history associated with the property (once owned by Gilbert of Gilbert & Sullivan fame), used as film/ drama location. It is a very lovely hotel with lots of history and very peaceful and quiet. Very easy to access major routes.

An amazing place with historical connections. Recommend staying here just to experience this unusual building and gardens which is tucked away in Harrow. A beautiful retreat and away from the crowds. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Staying in the main hotel, our room was clean and tidy. As this place is so quiet and away from the noise and traffic of London, you could be anywhere in the countryside. Getting off to sleep was at first difficult only because of the sound of a water tank continually filling above our room. The night staff came into the room at 2am to investigate and fortunately ten minutes or so later the sound stopped, so I can only assume they found the cause of the plumbing fault. Well done and thank you! We arrived almost exactly at half past nine which is when the chef disappears, so unfortunately we had to go out again to hunt for food, which was a little disappointing. Maybe the new management will address this problem? Also, strangely for some reason, there was no direct access to the dining room from the main house. To get to Gilberts (the restaurant) we were forced to venture out of the main entrance and around the front of the house to reach the place. Not so good if it's raining heavily or freezing cold! The breakfast bar was quite limited and cramped in the corner of the entrance hall. Again a little disappointing and I'm sure something the new management may well want to address. However, all these things aside, this is an extraordinary place to stay, not in the heart of London but not so far from anything and convenient if you're traveling by car. It's worth a look even if you're only passing by!

We recently held our wedding at the Grim's Dyke and could not fault the service both running up to the day and on the day itself. The staff were all friendly and extremely attentive and the day went very smoothly.
Fantastic venue for any occasion.
