Together with six colleagues I stayed here for one night. We arrived whilst the hotel was obviously busy as it was one of their cream tea afternoons. Invited to join in we declined due to prior arrangements but were dealt with quickly and booked in with offers to carry luggage to the garden rooms still provided. The rooms were large, comfortable and if I had remembered to shut my curtains I wouldn't have been woken by the sunlight streaming in at 5:20am. But the early start gave me the opportunity to walk round the wonderful gardens. Breakfast was quick and efficiently served with replenishment of coffee whilst I chatted with colleagues not an issue. Well done Grims Dyke staff.

A group of 14 friends decided to go here for an afternoon lunch on a lovely sunny Bank holiday Monday. The hotel was busy but not crowded. However, the staff were not able to cope with customer food& drinks orders at the bar, people were complaining about the waiting time, and we were told that the chef was "angry" so had stopped serving sandwiches and lunch about 1.5 hours before end of lunchtime! We left without ordering and were thoroughly disappointed and appalled at the lack of customer service and lack of apologies. Would not recommend going here on a nice day as the staff clearly can't cope if it gets a little busy.

After spending a couple of afternoons here this year enjoying their great afternoon high tea's my son decided to book this unique hotel for his wedding on the 24/5/13.What a good choice.
The hotel is charming, the staff are friendly and helpful and the day was a huge success. All the rooms were warm and comfortable and the beds are huge. Many of us drove in from the north and the best man and bridesmaid travelled from Hong Kong and we were all made to feel very welcome - nothing was too much trouble for the manager and his staff.
We all booked bed and breakfast and 20 of us dined at Gilbert's Restaurant the the evening before the wedding and the food was wonderful.
Good rooms, great food, friendly helpful staff, beautiful gardens, reasonably priced - perfect!

I had my wedding here at the weekend and could not fault the wonderful venue and staff for making our day so special. All our friends commented on how lovely they thought it was. Many of our guests stayed over and some were upgraded free on request. If you want a beautiful venue for a wedding then this is it!!

Room Tip: main building has the best rooms

I just would like to thank the Grim's Dyke Hotel for their excellent first class service on my daughter's special day, The staff was very helpful and catered well for my nephew's special dietary needs. The bridal suite room was lovely and room service attended to all her needs promptly.. Beautiful settings, lovely gardens.

We stayed here last Sunday for an Opera Dinner and overnight stay. The opera event was fantastic and we were aware that there were stairs to climb in the main building but couldn't understand why the lodge which was built in 1982 had actual steps on the ground floor and handrails which were too low. Need to address this for guests with limited mobility.

We stayed 3 nights,we have stayed before,we booked online direct with the hotel £185 or£61.60 per night with breakfast, in a garden lodge room ,plenty of choice at breakfast, service was polite we thought the stay was good value,if you are visiting harrow/watford area and have a car, this possibly the quietest hotel to stay at,no motorways or trains nearby.Best tip dont use THE CASE pub opposite RUBBISH!
