“Value for money and excellent customer service”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

We have today returned home after four nights at this hotel. Our room was next to the noisy A10 and we find it hard to sleep with the window closed, especially as the hotel was very warm, but as soon as we asked if we could be moved to a quieter room, we were. The staff were friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. Yes, Travel Lodges are basic, but this one was very clean and had a free car park - what a bonus, especially in London. The nearest station into the city was a 13 minute walk; Enfield town with a theatre and several eating places was a 25 minute walk or 8 minutes by car, and there is a bus stop a few metres away from the hotel. The only negative thing to mention is the surroundings: the hotel is on the edge of a large shopping complex, but hey, we left the hotel before 10am every day and returned to shower and change before an evening out, so the surroundings didn't bother us at all. I would just ask the workmen who stay there not to enter the rubbish from their vans on to the car park before they drive off.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road, which is very busy.

At last, a Travelodge that is clean, comfortable, friendly and easy to find. Good value so near London with free parking and cafe. A bit of a walk to nearest station and noisy with window open, but they were the only drawbacks.

Stayed here for 5 nights as it was close to where I was working. The good points were that the rooms were clean & fresh and the breakfast/evening meals were OK. However, there were a number of Fawlty Towers incidents that need to be mentioned. Firstly, the Key Cards for the rooms were a joke, had to have them re-programmed several times, not amusing when you have carried your stuff to your room then have to go back to reception again. My colleague then found a master key left in the electric switch in his room by the cleaning staff, not very security conscious and reception staff said it happens all the time! Service in the bar/restaurant was inconsistent depending on which staff were on duty, waited 15 minutes one evening with no-one at the bar then went to reception to find the staff laughing and joking with each other whilst leaving the restaurant/bar unattended. One night they were giving out duplicate order numbers in the restaurant with the meals and getting the orders mixed up. An alarm went off one night for an open emergency exit and the staff did not know how to deal with it, so resulting in another delay in being served food. Whilst the rooms were very clean, one day had no replacement towels provided then another night no replacement mugs or tea spoons. My room overlooked the crossroads on the A10 and was noisy all night with traffic/sirens. Other clientele were mainly workmen and people being housed temporarily by social services. This was not a problem for me but I cannot recommend this hotel for families based on my experience. I know this is a budget hotel chain, but I was expecting it to be run far better than it was during my stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road, but only stay in this hotel if you are prepared for possible...

Travelodge is often a bit too shabby; but if you choose a new or refurbished one they are good value. Slightly out on a limb, this Travelodge was nice and quiet on a Saturday night and was modern, clean and friendly enough. Room a bit basic but the basics all worked - bed, shower, TV etc. Only real criticism for the price was they wifi is chargeable - which is unacceptable these days.

Situated on the edge of a trading estate this travel lodge was clean & comfortable, With the usual travel lodge rooms..... no wardrobe just hanging space, clean towels & tea/coffee making facilities.
It was situated on the corner of a main road but that said we were at the back and did not have any issues with traffic noise. Our car was parked outside in the car park (visible from our room)
Breakfast was plentyful and had the usual variety. We also ate in the bar in the evening same menus as always but tasty and served with a smile.
I didn't find much in walking distance but a short car drive or a very long walk would take you to the nearest pub & shops etc.
On the whole a pleasant experience

My husband & I stayed at the Enfield Travelodge on a Friday night, arrived about 6pm, to very quiet reception , checked in within a few minutes and were given room 318 on the 3rd floor.
*Booking tip, ask for a room which is NOT on the side of the A10, even with the window closed all night the traffic noise was constant!*

The hotel itself, including the room, lift/s, walkways, reception and bar/restaurant were to an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness!

The room was basic, but for £48 a night you can't complain!
I would rather have clean and basic over details and dirt any day!

The staff were polite and efficient enough, the whole hotel seemed pretty quiet to be honest, considering we were put on the 3rd floor at the front of the hotel, when it didn't seem to be busy.
But I guess that's a tactical reason, to make the hotel look busy & the rooms full from the A10
side, rather than the less busy Lincoln Road side, but nevertheless it was a pleasant stay.
If we needed to stay again I would make sure that I requested to be put at the back of the hotel though.

The bar was average priced, £8/£9 for a pint of Becks & a large glass of Wine.
I had the chicken stack burger etc which although looked a little pale, it was plenty cooked all the way through.
My husband had the apple crumble and bottomless custard, to which there were no complaints!
