We went into La Caverna for dinner last night as we have a friend staying for the week. He requested that we visit as he'd enjoyed it last year. As ever we were all warmly greeted by the owner and swiftly served with our drinks.
We chose to have a main portion of Calamari between us as a starter. Beautifully tender, hot & tasty and soon polished off! For mai I had Linguine Ioniche, strings of flat pasta with salmon and mushrooms in a creamy sauce, delicious. Husband had his fave pasta, Penne all’ arrabbiata and our friend had Spaghetti alla carbonara. We shared garlic bread and tomato and onion salad.
We ate early, just after 6pm, and were the second table of diners, but by the time we left La Caverna was over half full and buzzing, not bad for a Tuesday evening.
It's always a pleasure to dine here and locals know why it's still a success after 30 years in the same place.
