we have eaten here a few times and the food has always been OK... not the best meals I have ever had but standard pub fare. Just come back from another lunch there and I felt that I had to comment on the chips....We had the 2 courses for £9 and my sis and I had scampi and chips as our main course. The scampi was lovely but the chips were thick, floury and a tad under cooked...I noticed that another table had ordered chips and they were served in a little tin bucket and were half the size of ours and looked much better quality, so are Cheaper chips served with the specials menu deal I wonder...... Beer battered cod is offered on the main menu but only fish and chips on the special, its actually pollack...I can understand this but don't scrimp on the chips please. !! We did mention this to the staff who have taken it on board. Staff as always cheerful and attentive and a lovely glass of mulled cider to wash it all down with.
