Formerly known as the "Blackamoors Head", the new "Chessington Oak" is ideally suited to accommodate all categories of diners. The spaciousness and layout allows for family groups to have a quiet meal whilst around the corner, drinkers can enjoy a good laugh and a joke without causing any disturbance.

The drinks are priced very competitively and the weekly Monday special offers are simply unbelievable. All the staff are well selected and work very hard, yet manage to keep smiling and greet you with a warm welcome.

The range of food will appeal to all tastes and is comparable, if not a little better than similar venues offering economical dining. The only criticism is that the sizzling dishes, albeit spectacular and aromatic, are served on a skillet which somewhat limits the portion size. However, other dishes are available in a variety of sizes to suit your appetite. Special offers are available on themed nights and children's meals are heavily discounted and their menus are designed to encourage a healthy diet.

Free wireless internet is available which is fast and there is no spam abuse after registration.

As a non-smoker, it is unusually pleasant not to have to run the gauntlet of smokers crowding around the entrance, as the covered and heated external area designated for those that wish to spark-up is probably the best you will ever find.

Not packed out but comfortable. Food pleasant and well-cooked, and was from a "normal" pub menu. Have been several times for a family meal and each time had no quibbles. The management and staff all pleasant and friendly

We were travelling from Bedfordshire to our Gatwick overnight stay and decided make a detour to this sizzler pub for an evening meal.
The outside is not much to look at and appearances are obviously deceptive.
Inside is very well decorated and appointed, and the food was very good at a reasonable price.
The staff were friendly and courteous.
The saying "don't judge a book by its cover" definitely applies to this pub/restaurant.
Would use again when travelling in the area.
