We had a lovely day out with our family, great stay in the themed rooms! Our son absolute loved the room! The weather was that good, actually rained quite a bit, but actually quite liked it as the question were only 5 mins long!! Now to the bad part, the staff (especially a girl in her 20’s with blonde hair and a chunky build) on the Vampire Burger Kitchen, ruined our lunch experience. Very rude to us and other customers there at the same time. First of all over charged us for our food, didn’t give us a drink with our kids meal and not one please or thank you during the whole order. After the order I pulled the female up on her manners, I was met with attitude that you wouldn’t expect with the sort of money we have spent. No apology And then continued to act rude by talking under about us under their breathe. Food was terrible and almost inedible. The rollover hot dog was by far better and the service was great. Also wanted to mention the female working in the sweet shop, outstanding service and very outgoing, perfect candidate to work in a customer based job role (unlike the staff in VBK) Hopefully Chessington review the staff working in the Vampire Burger Kitchen around midday 26/09/2019 and deal with them accordingly.

Visited chessington last Saturday with my grandchildren, pleased to see access road now in place ( would be nice if it was completed from exit barrier to main highway as pot holes are extremely deep). As for the park we enjoyed a wonderful day experiencing rides and visiting various animals at the park. Best rides vampire and Ramisis revenge.

We went there on friday and that was the best decision as it wasn’t crowded at all. Our daughter was able to enjoy almost every single ride without long queues and sometimes she didn’t have to get off the rides. Some of the shops were closed and couple of rides as well but it didn’t really matter to us. You get some dirty places around the park but overall looked cleaned. Great new attraction where you can (i would say kids but everyone can take part) star in your own short movie, great fun for our daughter. I would say that it’s best to go there during the school time as it doesn’t get crowded.

Coming on a weekend in the summer we knew it would be busy so queues were quite large but with the 2 days admission we seen everything and went on a few rides more than once. On arrival the car park is a muddy field even on a dry day it was filthy. I noticed it was easily accessible around the park with disabled access to most rides. Toilets around however not the most clean. Lots to do for all ages, the gruffalo and room on the broom were a huge hit for us and we really enjoyed these. They have shows such as a sea lion show, feeding times and a gruffalo show with lots of favourite characters so keep an eye out for these. The zoo area was great, my kids loved the gorillas who kept us entertained. The sealife centre was better than I imagined, larger with alot of species and a handling area for kids. The safari was fun as you get up and close to giraffes and rhinos. Plenty of places to stop for food and drink however we took our own picnic to save money and we ate as we queued to get the most of the park. Also there was a petting farm where kids can go inside the enclosures with goats and sheep etc, a bird feeding area and a walk through monkey enclosure. We had a great family weekend away but it was pricey for what you get.

I’ve been coming to chessington for years now. I went in September 2019 and although the attractions were fun and exciting, I just felt let down by the lack of investment over the years.

Here’s a few things that let it down:
- The car parks need tarmac and not a boggy field
- The upkeep of the paths/paintwork/roofs/attractions need working on. For example the tomb blaster and Vampire are both well past their sell by date. Old, audio all over the place during the ride, paint work terrible around the ride. I could not believe when we on the vampire ride and towards the end when arriving into the station the state of it. Disgusting.
- Loads of RATS in the gorilla enclosure was the worst part of our day. We found this awfully sad. This showed us a lack of care for the animals. It doesn’t take much to call a company out and put measures in to stop rats getting into this enclosure. I am sure the animal authorities would have something to say about this. So upsetting and a real lack of care.

Overall we had a good time. The actual attractions are good but large areas of the park need serious investment. If someone came along and injected a few million to be spent on the paint work/up keep and cleanliness of the park it would excel so much. Take a leaf out of Paultons Parks book.

Dear toby_newman

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a TripAdvisor review following your recent visit to Chessington World of Adventures Resort. We are sorry to hear your visit was effected by the car park conditions and the park presentations. We are sorry for any disappointment caused.

Unfortunately wherever there are animals you will find Rats and Mice. We are working with our pest control technician to manage the issues mentioned.
We are unable to use poisons near animal enclosure due to the risk of them coming in contact with our own animals. I can assure you that the Rats and Mice do not cause harm to the Gorillas and we continue to work on an effective long term solution to this problem.

Please be assured that we have referred your feedback onto the relevant departments to review.
