My partner and I have been here a few times over the past few years and always had a good experience, most recently we went a week ago.
The service is always good - efficient and pleasant, it's not outstanding but we've never had a problem with it. The buffet is always well stocked and re-stocked and there's plenty of choice. There's a counter where you can choose raw food to be cooked especially to your liking, haven't tried that though. The food is tasty and although it's a bit like a canteen with all the food waiting out for self-service the experience of it doesn't feel that - I've been to another local chinese buffet and at that one it more obviously feels that the food has just been sitting out whereas here (clearly you know it has but) it doesn't feel like it.
It does feel expensive at this buffet at £15 p/head on a weekend plus drinks but if you think about it that's not expensive really - if you bought a variety of stuff from a takeaway it could easily cost the same but you still wouldn't get as much.
We like it here and would recommend it to others over and above another local buffet even if it is a bit pricier - you're paying for the quality and a better experience in my opinion. The only reason I haven't scored 5 out of 5 is because there's nothing about the buffet that blows me away.
