Description: We offer authentic, quality Indian Cuisine in Blackburn, Lancashire. Established in 1992 we have an unrivaled reputation for both quality and customer care. Whether you're looking for a venue for your next special occasion or quality Indian food - you'll always find a fast, friendly service waiting for you.Set in the picturesque Ribble Valley the Shajan is an award-winning restaurant. It started off as a small business holding only 96 customers. However its popularity lead to its gradual expansion over the years and it is now able to accommodate up to 205 customers. The restaurant itself is split into 3 rooms enabling it to cater for private parties and large functions without losing its intimacy or atmosphere. Its modern decor, luxurious setting and spacious car park have attracted a wide range of customers including celebrities, some of which arrive in helicopters. The chefs' come from all over South Asia, so the restaurant is able to offer a varied cuisine, and the large number of regular South Asian customers is a testament to the foods authenticity. We believe the restaurant's reputation is our best accolade as it is built purely on word of mouth. The Shajan's emphasis on quality, customer service and above all its continual drive for improvement, have all lead to its success.

The restaurant was busy and we chose to go straight to a table. We were given a choice. The menu is what you would expect and the specials looked interesting. The meal was well cooked, service good albeit a little impersonal.the total bill was just under £50 and considering we also had wine, this represents good value, in my opinion.

i have been twice to Sharjan and both times its been fab. The decor is modern and spotlessly clean. The food is gorgeous and the choice of draught beer is great too. It is a little pricey however but not enough to put me off going back again. Over all i would say this is one of the best restaurants in this area.

1st time we have visited this one following reviews from friends.

Decent indian, pretty good meals, however it was very busy, and it felt like the staff wanted you in and out so they could use the table again.

The staff hover around too much and always asking if you want another drink.

Food quality was good, choice was also good with some slightly more unusual options on the menu. Nice decor and plenty big enough for parties.

Very good food but they pack u in and it seems they need you to leave as soon as u finish to get another table in. Very loud and very busy. Lovely restaurant but the madness takes u away from your meal and its not a very nice atmosphere.

After having a very tough week, my partner decided to supprise me,by taking me for a meal here, after hearing great reviews.
We managed to get there despite the snow, when we parked up we noticed a lot of people in the foyer. We went in and had to squeeze our way through the people, turned out they were waiting for takeaways, we got to the front and we didnt even get a hello or welcome, the front of house just said yes, when my partner explained we had a booking, the man said eat now or bar. We decided to have a drink first, he showed us to the bar and as soon as we sat down we were given a drinks menu ,with a waiter asking what we want to drink. we had only just sat down,i felt very pressured, my partner asked if the ginger beer was alchoholic as hes ttotal, but the waiter didnt understand , the man who showed us to the bar said something in his own language to the waiter, then off he went to the bar.
He returned with a normal beer, not what we had asked for, we informed the waiter and his attitude was awful, not only could he not speak very much english, but he was smirking and trying to blame us,saying we had told him the wrong thing. This really put me off ,so we left and went some where more local, im so glad we did as it was the best meal id had in a long time.
