This place is 'interesting' and feels very like something out of Fawlty Towers. The room and en-suite was basic. The bathroom was very clean, but the shower was definitely older than me! The bedroom was fairly clean, but a bit dusty. There was a hole in the bathroom door where the bedroom door handle had been swung into it and the digi box was held onto the top of the wonky tv with gaffa tape.
Tom, the only member of staff we saw is a lovely old guy and he does cook an amazing breakfast.
This place is fine for a night or two if you really do just need a bed and some breakfast. Any more than that though and you might want to look further......

Just stayed at this awful establishment and wish I had not. I was in Blackburn for a few days and arrived late and tired. The hotel is nothing like the website, No digital tv, my tiny 30 year old tv had a freeview box ducktaped on top and a little ariel on top of that. There was no wifi, the whole place had this horrible musty smell about it, The towels supplied also had the same musty smell. My en-suite was so small that you could almost wash your hair in the shower cubicle whilst you sat on the loo. On day two I got in the shower and the door fell off.The guy tried to bring somebody else in my room whilst I was in it sleeping. The whole place is very old and very dated and needs completelly refurbished or closed! The full english breakfast stays wedged at the top of your throat for a good part of the day. I would not advise anybody to stay here as this place terrible. On a positive the old guy who runs it is very polite

Positives : good value, friendly and attentive elderly host, free wifi. Negatives : I will politely say it was well worn and in need of a thorough overhaul/refresh.

We had to make a last minute booking to meet some ex Army mates in Blackburn, because it was last minute there wasn't a great deal of choice so we ended up booking this hotel and wish we hadn't.
From the outside the B & B looked ok but as we walked in there was an old musty smell, when we were shown up to our room, it was pointed out that it was a 3/4 bed, which isn't good at all due to us being 6 foot, and 5.5. The room was dingy and very old fashioned, and seemed like a DHSS bedsit.
We made enqs as to whether another room was available, we were shown a second room which smelt dreadful and wasn't on-suite, an hike across the landing to get to a toilet was the option, so we opted for the 1st room.
We tried to get another B and B across the road, but they were full. We ended up staying here for the night, it was the worst night sleep we have ever had. The bed was dreadful, and the so called double glazing wasn't keeping the noise out. When we got up for Breakfast it was greasy and looked like everything had been cooked in a chip pan. When we complained to the owner he stated that that people enjoy staying in that room and thought it was lovely. I suggested that these people must be either blind or druggies. He did give us £5.00 back off the bill, as we were leaving we had to ask for the door to be unlocked which in my opinion is very unsafe as we had to wait for the elderly owner to go and get the key (god help anyone if they had to evacuate quickly. Avoid.
