We visited 25/08/11after winning tickets on the local radio station (the Bee) entitling us to a meal for 4 people...GREAT!!!! Wrong, all I can say is I'm glad we weren't paying.
We were greeted by a friendly waitress and shown to our table. Our party was 4 adults and one 5 year old boy. We arrived at 6.30pm and had our table booked for that time...The music was so loud that we had to shout to be heard, even the waitress struggled to take our order with the volume of the music..The service was sooooo slow that the 5 year old didn't get his food until 7.50...NOT GOOD!! We ordered for him a cheese burger with beans on the side..When it eventually arrived, there was no cheese on the burger and no beans....There were approximately 6 chips and the burger resembled a puck!!! The adults meals were no better....Chiquito, how can you get it sooo wrong...Nothing was presented well, nothing was cooked well - in fact the entire meal was appalling...The service was ridiculously slow..And even though we had free meals for the adults the bill came to almost £16.00. This was for the child's meal 4 adult coca cola's and one child's coca cola....Very pricey!!! A restaurant should be trying to generate repeat trade...but rest assured none of our party will re-visit this awful place again. Buck up your idea's Chiquito or you won't have any customers left....Very poor....

we when here on sunday 14/8/2011 at 12.30 we saw they had kids eat free on a banner outside so we gave it a try , having our 2 chidren with us this was a good option our total bill came to £ 16.98 which we thought was amazing value. we had 2 courses from the lunch menu that they had running, while we were waiting for the meals our family was entertained with some pictures that you can put your face through to look like mexican and the stick on moustashe's were a great touch. the staff were really good and the food tasted good we will definetely be going back to chiquito and at the above price we can visit more.

It's ironic that a restaurant which is only where it is because there is a cinema nearby can be soooo sloooow when it comes to service. The welcome was warm, the waitress was friendly, the food was adequate enough, if rather average in content and meagre on the portion sizes compared to Chiquito in years gone by. But the woeful speed of service rules it out as a regular destination. I am just glad we were not trying to get to a movie for a certain time. The restaurant was practically empty mid-Sunday afternoon when we went, and there seemed to be enough waiting staff, so perhaps a shortage of kitchen staff is the problem. Whatever the reason, Chiquito bosses please note, it's a false economy. By the time the main course came, we were beginning to wonder why we had bothered and just wanted out of there, which is hardly the ideal feeling at a family meal out.

Visited on Sunday 13/12/09 mid afternoon. A warm greeting, but thats where the heat stopped!! The restaurant was freezing. I didn't take my coat off and two of my party of four actual shivered throughout. We all shared a combo platter which was satisfactory and speedily served. Two of the party had fajita combos (chicken & duck and chicken and steak), one had a normal steak and I had the paella (I know Spanish in a Mexican restaurant what can you expect). One of the fajita platters came spitting hot and the other was hot to the touch. The steak for the fajitas was tough/chewy and was mostly left behind by the diner. The normal steak was what you would expect neither poor nor exceptional. The paella dish was hot but the contents were just warm. When this was brought to the attention of the staff they totally misunderstood and thought that the dish was under spiced! Whilst eating I noted two couples who had turned up, waited to be seated, and when nobody attended went next door. Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes and No. I have had a few very pleasant evenings here but certainly not for a mid afternoon "shopper" meal. If you are going to have a restaurant open all day then you need consistency of service and product, especially in a chain.
