Who would have guessed that behind these humble walls lies a little juvel and in our oppinion one of the most accomodating, friendly and cosy hotels in the Alps.

Upon arrival an employee greeted us with a smile all the way out in the free parking lot and carried our luggage to our room which was clean and comfortable (no elevator). The atmosphere throughout the hotel and in the rooms was excellent.

Our room offered views of the Laax village covered in Xmas lights and candles and a breathtaking Orange / purple morning sunrise. At night we had free view to an amazing night sky and star constellation Polaris through the ceiling windows so we could lie in bed and count stars.

The bed, pillows and duvees was of high quality. The owners had taken care of even small details in good taste. The hotel offers free internet although we sometimes had problems with connectivity.

The breakfast was excelent for a small hotel like this and included table service, various bread selections, croissants, fruits, eggs, various juices, selections of ham and cheese and most other that is needed for good start in the mountains.

We were surpriced to find a gourmet restaurant in the hotel that is even mentioned in the Micheling guide which offered deliscious dishes at affordable prices.

In the basement of Valbella there is a sauna and recreational areas that fitted our small family. the Hotel also offers plenty of "public" space for families for e.g. playing board games etc.

Few meters from the hotel is a busstop taking skiiers to the main gondol in Laax.

Valbella was for us the perfect Hotel with outstanding value for money.

We were a group of 8 and every person commented the quality of the hotel. Staff were extremely kind and friendly, willing to accommodate our "special" requests with a smile (we were not an easy group!). The hotel is nicely decorated, cozy and clean. One can notice that whoever runs this place want people to feel welcome and at home. Details like having an umbrella in the room, a fresh apple every day, having a special table set for our breakfast so that the full group could sit together (without us asking) it is 5 star standard. The restaurant is wonderful, would never expect this quality on a mountain hotel! Food is refined yet affordable, wine cellar offers a vast (>50) list of choices. It is convenient to reach the slopes, well located in town. I struggle to find any fault to this place...maybe I can point out there is no lift. I am very glad to write this review and just wish they can keep up to the standard! Bad point is I will never like any other mountain hotel again!

Room Tip: We had a room with balcony with great views, was not much more expensive and it is worth it!

The Bellaval was definitely a very good choice for our short (two nights') journey. In addition, we really have to unterline the excellent welcome and hospitality at this "Relais du Silence" establishment. Everything was great: the room, breakfast, restaurant and even the library. The hotel provides a free parking and wifi what is of advantage. In conclusion, we had a great time and would certainly come again.

This is a gem of a hotel. It is really charming and cute (without being 'cutesy') with lots of character. The breakfast is wonderful and dinner was also very good. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The hotel is not near the Laax base station and you need to take a shuttle bus which takes about 10 mins. Def recommend this hotel if you are thinking of staying in the area as it is simply wonderful and is also very reasonably priced.

Lovely character hotel, loads of wood but stylish as well. Restaurant, food, service and wine all excellent. We were skiing so the sauna/relax room was very acceptable. The only thing we could think of that the hotel lacked was an open fire. The hotel was about 100 metres from the ski shuttle bus so about 20 minutes in total to the nearest lift. Skiing at Laax/Flims/Falera very good and extensive, just lacks a few really challenging runs. Everything a bit expensive, but it is Switzerland, so compensates with quality!

This is a really charming hotel. We received a warm welcome by Denny the manager who was very helpful and spoke good English (useful for us as we don't speak any Swiss/German!). Our room (no. 33) was spacious, comfortable and cosy. We ate in the restaurant three out of four nights; the food was EXCELLENT and atmosphere very pleasant (our thanks to Selina whose service and friendliness was great). Breakfast was just what we wanted with delicious fresh bread and boiled eggs along with the usual European style cheese/meats, cereals and fruit. The sauna is lovely.
One point to note for future 'English speaking only' guests is that there is only one English audio channel on the TV, so take some other form of entertainment if you are planning on just chilling infront of the box in your room after a tough day on the slopes!
The nearby church bell chimes on the hour throughout the night but we got used to this after the first night!
The location is ideal for getting the ski bus. There are a couple of restaurants nearby plus a supermarket and bank. Laax is very pretty but as per previous reviews, there isn't masses going on in the village (but we were there over Christmas which would account for the quietness). However, this suited us and we would definitely return to this hotel.

The hotel is a small and quiet hotel in the centre of Laax village.

It is a rustic and charming hotel with some modern touches. The rooms are rather small, but nicely furnished with excellent bathrooms (shower only). Buffet breakfast is included-it is very continental without fruit or hot breakfast options.

The real let down is the service. Staff is friendly, but there is no energy and smiles. Service would ever only do what you ask them to do. We had to search for someone to bring us coffee every morning. When asked, they made us an omelette, but it is not advertised. Overall, the staff needs training and a more professional attitude. For that very reason, I wouldn't book half board. The Posta Veglia is an excellent restaurant with amazing service and food just down the road.

If you are skiing, be aware that yo need to take a shuttle bus to the slopes. The bus only goes every 30min.
