As for many years, we have been to Chateau d'Oex and a tradition is Brasserie de L'ours.
Service is nice and professional, food is fresh, you don't have to wait to long (even when it's full) and there is a daily menu. Price is not exaggerated.

Restaurant is good for average food like pasta, steak, cheese etc. We found the salad bar very nice but the rest of the food overpriced. They have a good collection of beers. Service average.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while staying in Gruyere a few kms down the road. None of us spoke French but that didn't matter as all the waitresses we spoke to spoke excellent English. We had no idea there was a micro brewery here, but we certainly enjoyed the beer! We ordered a few share platters to go around and we definitely enjoyed the food.
The meat platter was amazing, there was a great selection of cured meats and various cheeses. To ensure we had enough cheese we also ordered a cheese plate, which was delicious! Local cheese with dried fruit and walnuts - amazing!
The snails were delicious, even those who weren't snail 'fans' tried some and were pleasantly surprised.
I would have loved to have eaten dessert here, but after such an epic feast none of us had any room for anything else. If you're in the area definitely drop by even if it is only for the beer and to enjoy the outdoor dining area.

Great location, nice view on the mountain in a lovely village. Service and food were average (little disappointing).
