Just back from a truly outstanding evening meal! Vicus was one of several restaurants on a list provided by the organizer of our visit to Pals, with a description that included the words "upscale gourmet". We're 10 days into a two week trip in Spain that has included stays at several Relais et Chateau establishments. So, to say that we enjoyed far and away the best meal of the holiday at Vicus is no small statement. Every aspect of dinner was perfect. The food -- all three courses -- had wonderful flavour combinations, was beautifully prepared, and tasted divine. This was matched by the subtle blend of modern and lovingly-restored antique components of the decor, to say nothing of the attentive, friendly service from the owner. No doubt this will stand out as one of the highlights of our trip.
