Mas Concas has some very positive reviews on TA so we decided to give it a try. A weekday at lunchtime in high season. We were seated in "the granary": roomy, nice and cool, albeit somewhat noisy. Could do with some sound deadening material.
There is no á la carte service, the choice is limited to the Menu Diario at abt. 13,- including wine and the Menu Chef at 15,50 excluding. We tried both. Starters were one salad with salmon (ok); two others took tapas: four small individual dishes, not bad, not memorable. The fourth person in our group had a terrine of pheasant and foie: dry like old leather and totally tasteless. Main courses were fried dorada (acceptable) and beef filet, overcooked, dry and bland. Drinks: a pleasant verdejo and an average rioja. Service was slow and disinterested. The positive touches: good glasses, white stoneware, black slate, linen napkins, and the food itself well presented. Food quality however was just disappointing. I suppose that their system of very limited choice enables the kitchen to precook nearly everything with the microwave for finishing touch.
