This isn't for everyone but we loved that it was laid back, friendly, and they had an amazing camping disco night while we were there - it was fun for all the family with kids and grandparents dancing until late. Our pitch was fine, we liked the lake and location, breakfast was good value. This place also had plenty of friendly people who had been coming here for years.

If you want a pool and upmarket facilities (and silence from 11pm) then you can pay double the price down the road. This place is fun and good value.

I booked this camping site in May 2011. Upon arrival found the pitches to be small and some where elevated due to the hills. The thing I did not like the most was the amount of ants. They were every where. The pool was not clean or ready for use. The site seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. I soon moved to another site.
One good thing the staff where very friendly.

Room tip: Avoid the ants.

We stayed in this campsite in the first week of September which meant it had only a few campers in tents and caravans. Apart from a crying baby it was very peaceful, away from main roads, residential buildings, other campsites and noisy restaurants. It was within walking distance of a small cove with its beach, rocks, cliffs, water sports and restaurants. There was beautiful countryside to walk or cycle around surrounding the campsite.

The facilities were excellent, probably because we did not have to share them with many others, including a new shower/toilet block almost to ourselves. There was a bar and restaurant, wifi, laundry and other facilities.

Plenty to see locally historically or as entertainment
