Pins Marina Apartments
Ranked #28 of 33 Hotels in Cambrils
Reviewed January 1, 2013

Myself and my two brothers along with my mother stayed in Pins Marina Apartments for two weeks from July 20th 2012-August 3rd 2012. We spent two weeks in the sun in a place in-between Cambills and Salou. This was the happy medium because we were in walking distance of both Salou and Cambills (though slightly closer to Salou) so we could find entertainment easily but were not in too busy an area.

I admit that the apartments were not the jazzyist but at 2* it’s a case of getting what you pay for! The apartment was clean which for me is a big deal, I don't do germs. The staffs were friendly but you did not really need them as it was self-catering and we had cleaners in once a week with new towels and laundery. I would recommend taking your own towels though!

Everything you needed was there pretty much we were ground floor which I did not like but when I realised we could literally climb over our balcony and into the pool I was happier, yes the pool was about 3 meters from my balcony.

The pool was a nice size, perfect for laps and nice temperature, but next door the hotel has a massive pool anyone was allowed in that was more of a 'fun pool'.
The beach was literally across the zebra crossing and it was there across the road, a nice beach not too crowded even with a raft a ten minute walk up anyone could jump off.
Supermarket, bars, arcades, pubs, beach shops were all situated around the apartments and within a strolling distance.

If you go however I would recommend a few evenings out in Salou as the nightlife is perfect for families or young people or any age really! A perfect range of eating venues and places to visit with average clothing and everything shops being open until midnight.

The apartments were very basic but all we needed as we were out most of the day by the pool or on the beach or visiting places, we went on a day cruise and to 'House of Illusion' and many other places which he had great fun. However if it was too hot mid-day-is then we could take cover in our little balcony that overlooked the pool.

Great holiday, expect what you pay for- a nice place to sleep but you will probably need other entertainment which in my experience can be found locally.

Enjoy LondonLover

Room Tip: If you want easy pool access go with a ground floor room.

i would not reccomend this place to anyone we arrived here on the monday and was here for 11 nights and not on any occasion did we get a change of sheets or towels or any cleaner we were given just one toilet roll . we had to complain about the shower bracket the following day which never did get fixed so you had to hold the shower . the sink was cracked the sofa bed was broke and looked like a dog had been chewing through it the floor tiles were cracked so you would end up cutting your foot. the only way to have a cup of tea was to put the pan on the stove for an hour. the wardrobe was kept level by tissue paper under the front feet .the so called reception was shabby the pool was fine and the best thing was the 2 min walk to a lovely beach very noisy place to stay says it has a roof terrace (not) everyone else that was there that we spoke to had exactly the same complaints so it isnt just one room i dont think this place has been maintained since the day it was built (anybody that says these are nice apartments must be used to living in a cave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) wont go there again.

Room Tip: dont go here

Just came back from a great family holiday at Pins Marina. Was a bit worried afrer reading some of the reviews but was pleasantly surprised to get a large 2 bed apartment with plenty of room for all of us and a sea view. There is a wonderful supermarket just a couple of minutes away with the most amazing cakes and the massive sandy beach is just across the road. Although it is situated in a quiet place with a few good bars (loved the entertainment at Esmeraldas) and fantastic Chinese and Italian Resturant really close it is only a 10 Euro taxi ride to Salou where there is plenty of nightlife. Also the buses are really great and it is well worth a visit to the Port area of Cambrils - fab seafront restaurants and bars and lots of shops.

These apts were ok inside, our room 203 was spacious, after all you only get what you pay for!
Good for beach, bus stop michaelangelos supermarket with yummy pastries, pubs and restaurants.A long walk into cambrils 45mins or 1.55 euro each way on bus,Salou a little less walk 30mins.I wasn't there to cook so can't comment on cooking facilities! We enjoyed going into the old part of cambrils and found a nice restaurant called Classico Duomo, came across it after going to the market. You need to take your bath towel theirs are just hand size!! They do give you toilet rolls if you ask, vena if this is spelt right was very helpful to us during our stay, but if your on a budget these apts will suit you,and the weather was lovely for our weeks stay.

O my god this was the worst place I ever stayed in. When we arrive we went to the recpetion desk which is a little hole with a desk in it. Then we had to wait for are room until 5 pm in the heat, when we went to are room we found them small so small one of the rooms was only for two adults and one child not four adults. Then we found out that they don't give you toilet paper so we had to buy some. The lights went and it took them until it was dark to fix them. Are room was on the main road so if we keep the widow open we could get any sleep at. We also had to beg then for towels because they would not give us any. The pool are was small and the pool it self was not that clean at all. There is a train that runs al night and is very loud. When we where their a few people where robbed and they did nothing about it. The bathroom was small and the shower head was broken. They don't change your towels or your bed sheets at all. The beach is near which is the only good thing about this place. My advice spent a extra money and stay somewhere nice.

The bonus of these apartments is the location. Roughly 1 minute walk from the beach/bus stop/supermarket/pubs & restuarants. It is about half an hour walk from Salou but it is a lovely walk along the beach, a bus only costs €1.95 per person and runs quite regularly from early morning to late night (not sure what time it stops, if it does at all). Also there is a bus from Reus airport that stops within a minute from the apartment. This cost €5.95 one way or €10 return per person.
There was just the 2 of us and we were lucky enough to be given a 2 bedroom apartment so we had loads of room.
The apartment (number 415) was clean and spacious (Good size living room with separate kitchen, which I felt was a bonus). We had a lovely view right down to the beach. The cooking facilities were not great, a 2 ring stove (which is fine) that took at least 2 hours to boil a kettle for 2 cups of tea. No grill or oven but a microwave with a grill in it. In saying that this didn't bother us as we weren't planning on cooking (I can do plenty of that at home :)
The pool was very clean and a good size with plenty of space around it (12 sun loungers only though). It has a separate kids pool and a kids play area so should suit all.

I think it really depends on what apartment you get here. Some have good views. (overlooking the pool) and some bad. (overlooking the train tracks). we were lucky. Apartments clean enough. But Basic. No toilet roll (even one to start with). 50 Euro deposit each (refundable). Be careful about the dates to collect the keys.
Air conditioning in the living room only (free).Bring towels. We had a problem with the telly but was fixed straight away. Only Spanish channels but connect your DVD !.
It's 36 Euro from the Airport (Reus) in a taxi one way. All prebooked taxi's are dearer. Right outside the airport terminal is bus PLANUS. easy to find and will take you as near to your apartments as possible. 5 Euro each person each way. There seems to be a big push on this bus service and company in general as there are bus wardens everywhere that will give you great advice. buses are air conditioned. You are encouraged to travel by bus even to the resorts of Salou and Cambrils. These apartments are smack in the middle of both.A 20 minute walk to either. But the seafront walk is fab in each direction.
The pool is clean and the kiddies section safe as can be.But there are only 12 sunbeds for all these apartments. so you need to be up early ! Next doors sunbeds (Metropilis) they have to pay).
Be careful not lock yourself out on the balcony with the patio door from the outside.
You pay for what you get here, so if you want the Hilton !!!!!
Local supermarket next door (same prices) sell beers very cheap too and had special on 1 litre Bacardi 13Euro yahoo. glad we had some extra space in the suitcases :)
Would go back again though and recommend to friends (who have never been to the Hilton :).
Enjoy, hope you get a nice apartment.
