This hotel is absolutely fantastic. Wonderful location. Lovely staff. Excellent food. Great for families. After reading some of the reviews on here I was worried last year but since going we loved it so much we re booked for June 2013 and travel in a month. Last year we went in may and had our toddler of 2 with us and I was 6 months pregnant this year we're taking both our boys and cannot wait! X

The only hotel I could find which offered all inclusive at that part of the beach. Set one street back from the beach front. looks very impressive.

Rooms ok size, two queen beds next to each other, hairdryer, fridge air con/heating For two adults and two children its the same room and they do not have duplex or suites tho have 8 connecting rooms but we were advised can only request that. Room with a pool (and sort of sea) view were 5 euros per person extra per night we were advised on arrival.

Dining - good variety. huge dining area which was air conditioned.

Pool area - lovely, plenty beds and tables around the pool.

Seating area in bar/lounge - plenty.

Service -
reception - frustratingly unhelpful.
bar - the worst ever - on 4 occasions in 5 days (including at the pool bar) had to go to reception and ask them to get a barman. The service was slow and one barman in particular was just rude. Roal deserves a mention as he was very attentive and helpful. The a/I basis was good value overall tho additional charge for certain drinks and cocktails. Crisps and ice cream on show had a charge,, the all includive ice cream and crisps had to be asked for and were kept out of site behind the bar.
rooms- cleaned and fresh towels every day
dining room - very nice but rushed off there feet, sometimes had to clear our own plates. 5 stations for plate clearing around the room so sounded a bit like butlins canteen wherever you were sitting.

Entertainment - bingo- old time dancing - singer with a key board
for kids - pool tables, computers (tho not working)

Location - super. one street from the beach (across a busy road) turn right and walk for half an hour and you are in the beautiful cambrils with lovely harbour and sea front dining and old town. turn left from the hotel and your half an hour walk into main part of salou. promenade the whole way.

Overall, worth it for location and sitting by the pool and the outward splendour of hotel. Service let it down and I will book another hotel for July.

hotels along the beach front, the estival centurion had duplex rooms, no a/i, the best maritim was full of kids and much more family friendly but no a/i but did offer bigger rooms and a suite for families, the augustus was jam packed with sunbeds and blaring music but seemed very popular with young ones.

Overall good value if you stay chilled at the less than 4* service

Room Tip: rooms 233/4/5/6 and floors above look out to the front of the hotel so a glimpse of the sea but on t...

Stayed here with my family in August 2012. The hotel is well maintained and clean. It really is only 50 metres from the beach, although across a busy road.
The food throughout our week was excellent, yes, there was some repetition but there were also different things to eat every day. Pancakes made fresh for breakfast, always a choice of pasta dishes, fantastic salads. If you wanted to eat chips and chicken nuggets you could do that too.
Pool bar was good, snacks all day and night, range of drinks was pretty good, pricey if not all inclusive though.
I emailed before arrival to ask for a pool view, they said it could not be guaranteed but I got one anyway! Excellent views, nice big balcony.
The pool area was clean and in a good condition but there are few activities for the kids, The addition of a slide would be great. Kids play area not so good, but there is a great one at the beach 2 minutes away so it didn't matter.
In all, a great hotel, super for a family, not if you are looking for lots of clubs and bars.

Room Tip: Email to ask for a pool view - it might just work!

A week here was a late deal for some late sun, and in that respect it was ideal for the money. Nice welcome from staff and the room seemed clean and spacious as our first impression. However, this room was next to 4 lift shafts which meant lots of noisy guests and the crunch of the mechanism all night long and the television in the room wasn't working. The hotel was fully booked, but Reception did say there might be a room available if we returned at 10am - as other guests were leaving that morning. Sure enough, we were able to move into a vacated room within minutes but it would mean that some new arrival would end up with the terrible noise for their stay. I'm very thankful for the room change, because I would have been desperate just to go home with so many sleepless nights if we couldn't have moved.

The food choice is very good, even if the quality isn't the best. There was always something available for a discerning palate and lots of deserts to choose from.

The pool is large and clean, never worried about getting a sunbed either. My only negative is that you really need good footwear because of the pebbling finish at the poolside. I particularly liked to get a cafe con leche from the pool bar.

The evening entertainment was hit and miss and aimed at an older generation. Sometimes, you couldn't miss it if you just wanted to use the free wi-fi in Reception.

The location of the hotel is fine if you just want to laze in the sun by the pool or on the beach all day, but if you want to do some sightseeing in either Salou or Cambrils you really need to take a bus which all racks up extra costs.

It's easy to go to Barcelona for a day trip, and the open top tourist bus stops at Barcelona Sants station where the train stops. I highly recommend this as a day out.

Room Tip: Try and get a room far away from the lifts.

this hotel is excellent, i have stayed there 5 or 6 times, in the past few years, and i love the place, it is nice and quiet with just the bach opposite and a few bars nearby, it is lovely and tranquile, suits me down to the ground, i only stay in may and october, so i am there for the early and late times, i do not know what it is like in the summer months,
the staff in this hotel are extremely friendly, and felix the head waiter, is excellent, he speaks perfect english, which is very handy if you can t speak any spanish, he translates everything, and is a god send .
i have never been in any hotel, that have such lovely staff, they have all been there a long time, and are really geared up to british tourists they are all extremely pleased to see me, each time that i go there, where as in a certain hotel, in benidorm, that i will not mention i have been going there over 20 years regularly, and it is only the headwaiter that accnowledges me, the rest seem to miserable to smile and that is a lovely hotel too,

this hotel has its back to the main line for the trains, but i have stayed in a single room at the side overlooking the main entrance, and did not have any trouble with noise from the trains what so ever, you get used to hearing them, and it is only for a few seconds anyway, and i believe they stop at about midnight.

the front rooms are the best as they overlook the sea, and have fantastic view, but they are mainly double rooms so for a single traveller, you might not be lucky enough to get one of these.
i have always enjoyed this hotel, as it has bus stops each side of the road, outside the main entrance, and you can go to tarragona, barcelona, salou, la pineda, etc, etc, you don t need to walk far at all, to enjoy all the surrounding areas, cambrils itself is about a mile from this hotel, go to the main road and turn right if you like walking, or turn left for salou, and that is about a mile away, too, thyere is a long promenade all along the beach to walk , which is excellent, but years ago i used to walk from cambrills to salou, with my husband , but now due to arthritis and sciatica, i have to go everywhere by bus, the walk used to take about 3 hours, and is brilliant, stopping along the way for a coffee etc, to break the journey, i used to really enjoy.
this hotel is mostly the older generation that are here when i have stayed here, in may and october, and it is very pleasant, no children running around, as after bringing up 5 myself i am enjoying the peace and quiet now, that i am nearly 70.
the hotel has a jaccuzi, steam room, gym etc, and they are all free, which is excellent, as all the other hotels that i have stayed at , you have to pay.
i would definately give this hotel a very good rating, especially the lovely friendly staff, which you don t get in many hotels. i love the lot of them, there is not one bad one amongst them, and that is the trueth, even the girl at reception who most reviewers comment on, she is pleasant if you tease her a bit, i think that she just has a dry sense of humour,i find her ok, anyway. speak as you find.

Room Tip: ask for a high floor with a pool view, and then they will give you one of the superior rooms, but on...

Spent 8 days here October last. Read all the reviews before leaving but like to find out for myself. Yes, there is a main road at front and railway line at rear. Yes, the rooms at front are larger and have a view. Yes, the clientelle were older. Yes, the entertainment in bar was mainly Spanish. Yes, the food at all sittings is repetative. Yes, the staff are not very friendly but not all of them. Yes, it is difficult to find a table at meal times. However, apart from all that we both enjoyed our stay and found it sufficient for what we wanted. We booked late B & B but were upgraded to full board with no extra cost which turned out to be good value. Reception on arrival was efficient. Our small room at back did not have a view other than a block of appartments. It was clean and serviced on a daly basis. The train did not put us out as it seemed to stop late at night. It did wake us up about 8am in the morning. Was not put out by main road at front but anyone that wants quietness this is not the place. The pool for us was fine as were deck chairs and plentifull and you were not allowed to hold a chair with towel. Meal times were very busy and some guests did not have any manners and did not seem to know what a que was. There was lots of food and it would be difficult not to find something that would suit you. We did not eat in hotel at evening, went out to other restaurants. Rarely stayed in hotel bar at night. For a holiday destination found it surprising that bar closed at mid night sharpe and you were asked to move out. Other bars around the area stay open much later. Also found it surprising that there were families with children there, not because it was not suitable but it was October and surely they should be at School. There was a little kids play area and pool. A couple of hundred metres accross the road and down between Appartment blocks is the beach. Very nice and very spacious when we were there. Deckchairs have a small charge but worth it. There are walkways to both Cambrills and Salou along the beach and could take from 40 minutes to one hour depending on your age and fittness. A bonus is a bus stop outside front door of hotel, an office where you can get advise on travel and tickets. All bus drivers seem very friendly and helpful. An exception with staff were the bar staff and one in particular known as "Java". It seems he has worked here for over 25 years and it shows, he is very efficient and good at his job and takes pride in his work. For both of us this hotel was sufficient and we would go back again although dont know if would do so in height of season. If your expectations are not very high this hotel is fine. Average would be the word to discribe it.

Room Tip: rooms at front are larger and have a pool view.
