The only good thing about this hotel is it's position and the manager.
Rooms very tired. Nothing.going.on whatsoever in hotel. Not suitable for elderly as.lots of stairs.
Food.
Well just really awful.boring bland. And barely a choice. Didn't have a single desert in the week as it was fruit mainly. Bought cooked chickens from supermarket next door. Very disappointed

We had a very enjoyable stay .The staff are wonderful and so helpful. I was quite troubled having read some reviews.
Our room was cleaned every day and was a good room.
I have stayed in worse four star hotels .
My only problem was my husband's difficulty with steps. We enjoyed our stay so much that we didn't want to come home.

Room tip: Remember steps when booking

we were amidst the moaniest lot of people, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS HOTEL, The staff are really nice and helpful smiles all round, polite, honest.
Yes the food tends to be a little the same but it was nice and there was always something we liked. The pool area is a little small but we used the bon repos pool which is larger and that was nice,
Some people were boasting on having only spent £275 for a weeks allinclusive and then moaned about everything, If you have B&B anywhere it costs £25 per person per night that's for 2 people £350 per week, so why would you expect british food in spain for all your meals AND free drinks.
Its about time all inclusives came to an end its ruining the local economy and with less waste in the hotels perhaps quality would be better.
One thing I do know ,this hotels staff could not get any better if it was a 5 star

Room tip: all rooms are good but ones facing south are better

Our stay was very well priced and we've stayed at similar hotels in the area before so we knew what to expect in terms of food and accommodation.
First of all the

good bits: the local area has been regenerated recently and is full of shops, bars, restraunts and lots of things to do (we went end of season so many things were closed but that was our decision). The room was clean and big enough for the four of us, a little dated but met our basic 3 star expectations. The pool was big enough for the size of the hotel with a bar serving drinks and snacks. on a whole the staff were very friendly and helpful, always made a fuss of the kids. The manager was outstanding, always went out of his way to say hello and asking if he could help us in any way. A real asset to the hotel its such a shame the actual hotel couldn't reflect his performance.

Bad bits:firstly the steps are challenging if like us you have a small child in a pram either into the hotel or down to the pool.
The bar are is lame, resembling a hospital waiting room with a pool table. There's no atmosphere, nothing for the kids to do and when there is entertainment it's usually a singer and not a particularly good one.
Burgers, hotdogs and chips are available from 10am until 9pm and judging by the quality I believe they are probably cooked in a batch at the beginning of the week and just kept slightly warm in the open air restaurant food was dismal. Poorly cooked, little variety and all served cold. A mild 4 day dose of food poisoning persuaded us to eat out in the end.

All in all I've been visiting the Costa brava for the last 20 years and this is by far my worst experience. This has put me and my family off returning and ruined our annual holiday. My advice to anyone would be if your looking for a good hotel in calella try the oasis park splash up the road.
