“NICE HOTEL SHAME ABOUT THE FOOD”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

Booked a short 4 day break here on 11th May 2014 choosing the half board option and wished we had been B&B or room only
The hotel and rooms are very nice and location is not to bad either. Our room had 2 double beds and a balcony over looking the pool which had sun most of the day on it. The bathroom was equally as nice 2 sinks and a big walk in shower( the best shower we have ever had in any Spanish hotel also air conditioning in the room is free as is wifi which as a good reception where ever you are.
Not being one to take everyone reviews to hart and thinking that people were being picky about the food it turns out they were right
Chips, burgers & hot dogs were on every night with the usual pork slices and fish
Salad consisted of mixed lettuce leave and one night they said it was turkey but it had bones in it the size of a pork chop ( wouldn't like to meet one of their turkeys on a dark night)
Having said that the question is would I go back. YES I WOULD but like I said at the beginning on a different board basis
Callela at the beginning of May is very quiet and we were just grateful that Paps Bar was open coming to our rescue with some very good food and drinks

Room Tip: From what I have seen all rooms are of a good standard with rooms on the ground for having a large t...

Stayed here 6th oct 2013 with my partner we was supposed to be in the bon repos but it closed the day we arrived so we got transferred to this hotel and we couldnt fault the hotel the rooms were big and really nicely done up they were always clean and always had fresh towels etc but only thing I can fault is the food it was disgusting chips everynight didnt cater for many not any variation of food to choose from but if u are just looking for a nice break its a nice quiet hotel but I would recommend to go self catering to anyone as I will be doing so if I ever stayed in there again.

Stayed for a long weekend. As usual some pro and some contra. Pro ; very nice renewed bedroom with huge nice showerroom, nice food, superb staff (if you try to be nice to them), excellent price. Contra ; a little remote from beach and town center. Yes I would stay again.

I stayed here with a group of 11 friends for the Calella Oktoberfest from 11th to 14th October 2013.
While not knowing what to expect for the price, we found the hotel to be modern had spacious rooms and good size bathrooms with excellent wet-room type showers. We had a few 'fussy eaters' in our group but the buffet restaurant had a selection of good quality food to suit all of us. A credit to the management are the attitudes of the staff working there. They made us feel really welcome and always had a smile when they saw us.
The pool is of an adequate size for the size of the hotel with plenty of sun-beds available.
I and my friends would whole heartedly recommend the Summer hotel to any potential travellers.

Stayed here July 2012 with my best friend on a three night stay. We wanted to chill and have a relaxed time and we did. We stayed all inclusive, we were actually booked for the Bon Repos but when we arrived they said we would be staying here. Initially we were dubious but when we walked around the corner to the Summer Hotel we were very pleased. Its a clean, ultra modern, nice hotel. Our room was lovely with two comfy double beds, large walk in shower and a decent sized tv. Most night we ate out as the food wasnt great but for breakfast and dinner it was fine. They served toasties at the pool bar and drinks were all good. Overall a lovely break.

Room Tip: Great for a short break and a good sleep.

Great hotel all round, clean, modern, Staff were friendly, accommodating! There were a group of 11 ladies on a girls weekend.

We originally booked for Hotel Bon Repos but were moved due to being full- This is the sister hotel a very short walking distance!

The Hotel was fab! We upgraded to all inclusive, the food in the restaurant was good and was different on every night.

The staff were friendly, and very accommodating for anything that we asked for, it's a shame that some other guests at the time were so miserable, in fact generally rude, I am pleased to say they were not British!!

Well done to all the staff for their care and attention for the 4 days and 3 night stay!
Essin, Mariea, Oscar and the rest of the staff!

The Summer Hotel is a nice open space planned hotel. The room are modern and with some designer touches, beds comfortable and plenty of storage space in the room. Bathrooms are nice and well kept, as is the room servicing. Staff are very helpful and speak a number of languages, beware there is only normally one member of staff on to cover both bar and reception, this can mean a wait for service. Internet is one of the best I have found at a hotel making Skype or other VOIP phones calls possible.
Food is buffet style and a little same old same old, lots of Pork dishes. But there is live cooking and we always found something to eat. The hotel has its own, clean well kept, pool with a number of sun beds available. A short 10 min walk gets you to the beach and a number of bars, discos other entertainments.
