Description: The restaurant Compartir opened in April 2012 led by Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch. As its name indicates, the cuisine is presented on central dishes for sharing. This transforms the concept of “appetisers” and takes it one step further, as well as creating a surprising and uninhibited ambience among the diners. The menu offers markedly modern dishes and also more traditional suggestions, such as rice dishes. The restaurant is in the historical centre of Cadaqués in an emblematic building that was refurbished at the beginning of the 18th century. One of its main attractive features is the large courtyard where visitors are welcomed and which is a clear example of the identity of this unique corner of the Costa Brava and the Creus Cape. The premises, the rapport with clients and the food, served in an informal and relaxed setting, all work together to transmit our philosophy to visitors, characterised by the search for clients’ greatest satisfaction in all aspects. Know-how that is passed on every day thanks to the team led in the kitchen by Marc, David, Víctor, Ander, Alejandro and Molins and in the dining room by Ramon, Roger, Sara, Marga and Tassi. Currently, Compartir is recognised in the most important gastronomic guides: Compartir has a rating of Two Suns in the Repsol Guide and is recommended by the Michelin Guide. In December 2014 Casañas, Castro and Xatruch’s second project was brought to fruition: the restaurant Disfrutar in Barcelona, with a different proposal to that of Compartir, clearly avant-garde and with a tasting menu format.

We spent 2 days in Cadaques and ate here both days. Food was fun and really good. We tested many different dishes and enjoyed it all. The service was friendly and casual. I found the waiters very informative and their ability to speak Spanish French and English all well is very helpful to the clients. The prices are very competitive and I think a great value. I would really recommend this place for a fun and wonderful eating experience.

Average restaurant, claims and not maintains.
If you promise an experience like "El Bulli", You commit to an exhilarating experience of senses, and this is not so.
The portions are not coherence - some good, some really bad.
Each portion was from another type of cousine: molecular, Spanish traditional, French, Asian.
In this charming village there are (very) good restaurants worth going, don't spend your time here. Give this restaurant time to grow up.

We wanted the PERFECT restaurant to compliment our day trip to Cadeques from our Costa Brava seaside rental. We chose Spanish Trails to help coordinate our day and requested lunch at Compartir as we knew the kitchen would be outstanding staffed by former Il Bulli staff! We followed the guide to "compartir" (share) and ordered an array of remarkable dishes. We were first served a welcome signature apperatif that was refreshing and delicious. From local anchovies served two ways, to the most amazing eggs I have ever eaten, to succulent duck breast, jamon and artichoke, and molten chocolate balls --YUM! Wash it down with some excellent local Emporda wines and take a well-deserved siesta on the ride back to the rental house! And we LOVED our saucy waitress Teresa!!

After walking for four days along the Costa Brava with our family, we choose Compartir for the end-of-holiday-vacation-dinner. And what a choice is was. The surroundings, the food, the attention of the waiters, the wines, everything. This is just a top class restaurant that's worth spending a few more euro's!
As the name compartir already implicates, plates here are to share. If you don't like this way of eating though: just choose your plates, they're big enough not to share, and to eat all by yourself. And that you will do, from the ansjovis entree to the rabbit main course, and the desert of mouse de crema catalana. It's just very good, everything.

Highly recommend this place, we found out about it from a random person we met in France who suggested we check it out. The service was flawless, the wine choices were top-notch and all the food was delicious. Must haves are the Anchovy appetizer with sweet corn puree and caviar and the chocolate truffles for dessert.
