“The best place in the world”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

I love it here.
Not only are the rooms very clean, they're also beautifully decorated. I love the marble in the bathrooms. Some say it's a tad outdated but I love it.
The gardens are stunning, very well-kept, and the fountain right outside the apartment we stayed was a great extra. Every morning around nine it started to sputter, the best sound to start your day with.
The frogs do make a lot of noise at night, we went there in February - maybe it was mating season. But those noises didn't bother us that much either.

About the pool area being too crowded: you are free to go and swim at the other pools of the surrounding Anfi resorts. When I was there, there was always enough space.

I also read about a complaint saying there weren't enough activities... This is certainly not true. There's a bunch of stuff they organize to keep the guests busy, such as shuffle boarding, water polo, arching, beach volley, aqua gym...

I felt like I landed in PARADISE, this place is better than 5stars, it's heaven.

Just come back from Anfi Beach Club, It was an amazing and memorable holiday, unfortunately the Euro clobbers your pocket if you decide to eat out everyday but otherwise its great. The apartments have just been refurbished to a very high standard and we were very impressed..!

Room Tip: Not aware of any bad view rooms since the refurbishment.

Absolute paradise, rooms immaculate, cleaned & freshened every day, beautiful marble bathrooms! Astonishing views! Excellent food! Not a speck of rubbish in sight! No touristy all inclusive 18-30 footy hooligans in sight, just calm relaxing 5 star bliss! Myself & my 3 young children loved it! Not a care in the world!

We exchanged our timeshare to this resort. We were very happy with our apartment , which had a lovely view over the tropical gardens and the ocean. The apartments are highrise with luxury fittings and furnishings. huge private balconies with wicker loungers , table and chairs and a wall of glass sliding doors . Their are four blocks of apartments with pools which you can use any time , all leading down to a public safe sandy beach. The highlight of our holiday was to be able to take a ferry from the harbour to different parts of the island , which run every 30 minutes. We especially liked Mogan to try different restaurants. In the resort there are many restaurants, bars, designer shops and a Spa for groceries which stocks most things? Mini golf is fun, a large course which overlooks the sea with amazing gardens. This resort is good for couples and families where everything is available if you choose not to leave the resort. We enjoyed our time in Gran Canaria , the climate is lovely and the the resort is kept so clean and tidy.

Room Tip: Try to get a higher apartment to get the best views. Most are sea facing.

The positives of the resort are:
- Large well appointed apartments
- Fantatstic gardens
- Proximity to beach
The negatives of the resort are:
- Pool area too confined
- Lack of decent entertainment
- Dreadful on site restaurants
- Unhappy, de motivated resort staff
Just back from a week at Anfi, it was an enjoyable stay but the resort is far from perfect. It is very large and had the feel of 'Butlins' in the sun (not that I have stayed at a holiday camp) The apartments are a great base but I would not recommend spending day and night on the resort. The resort staff were not welcoming and we did not meet anyone who really went the 'extra mile' We ate in one of the onsite restaurants and the meal was inedible - we spoke to several other guests who also had bad experiences.
Would I return - yes!! I liked the apartments, the gardens and the beach.

Well if you can get in here THEN BOOK IT !!!
the idealic place to just relax and chill
Beach Club Happy Hr is 4pm -5pm 2 for one on local stuff then again at 10pm -11pm
Pool is great not huge but big enough. I only had a studio but don't be fooled these are big enough and have washing machine and dish washer (loads of dishwasher tabs but only 2 washing tabs, washing up liquid and cloths are all under the sink)
All 5 tv channels are in the rooms if you wish to sit in your room all day and night
but go down to the Plaza and watch the shows and eat out
Mexican is good, Indian takes for ever to get served but food is great well worth the wait
Italian is nice as well

The Anfi overall is a great location to spend time relaxing and recharging. Our room was spacious and clean and the view from the huge balcony over the sea was fantastic. The only issues letting it down is the aircon was old, noisy, clapped out and only in the bedroom?. The kitchen area had everything and was used a fair bit (breakfast and some lunches.) It has no oven only a microwave – teenagers don’t like micro’d pizza apparently! The girls could also watch the soaps as you have all UK terrestrial channels in the room (Sky Sports 1 and Eurosport guys)
The pool area is the biggest disappointment. For a resort claiming to high end this is where it falls flat. There are numerous sunbeds but they are all squashed together – I have never been to a place this bad at cramming in so many beds. You are piled on top of each other – not the most private or special. There are surrounding gardens which are well kept, but I think some of this should be sacrificed for more space. On top of this there is a constant flow of Anfi reps dragging people around the pool – in two weeks I must of seen 100’s of ‘tours’. Again, not quality or conducive with a relaxed atmosphere. The beach area is great and the sea worth several visits just to cool down from the warm pools. Apart from my good lady being stung by a jellyfish it is a welcome break from the clinical pool area. The shops around the complex are not cheap but are of quality. We purchased several items of clothing and shoes that we had no chance of finding locally. The restaurants were of a good standard but some of the staff (Texmex place especially) had both good and appalling standards. One of the rudest waiters in Spain works there (not the Irish chap – he’s great). We used the Tropicana several times and the food was fine – if slightly overpriced. Do not bother with the cocktails; small, very, very weak and damn expensive. Staff always run off their feet but service was good. We spent most evenings in Puerto Rico, just 10 Euro return. There are some great places, San Miguel, Miami, and a texmex right at the end, who’s name escapes me. They all serve pretty much the same menu. Avoid the Slow Boat Chinese buffet – poor beyond believe. Frequented many of the bars but spent most time in the Highlander – quiz most nights that gets everybody chatting and laughing. We had hired a car for the two weeks and got out and about. The island has some stunning scenery and hidden gems. I would recommend this to break up the sun soaking.
