“Top class hotel”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Currently on a weeks holiday in fuetreventura and staying at the barcelo corrajelo bay all inclusive with Thomas Cook.

First thing to say is staff are very polite, friendly and attentive, can't do enough for you, and speak very good English. Felt that if I had a problem I could go to them and they would help me, they also have a very good sense of humour always cracking jokes and made our holiday very enjoyable.

Hotel is overall very clean and well maintained, and staff could often be seen cleaning the floors and maintaining the grounds to keep it looking its best. Pool area is beautiful, surrounded by Palm trees with a large main pool and a smaller separate one with a jaccuzi area. Only gripe is that although the welcome booklet stated that sunbeds were not to be reserved with towels, items of clothing etc and that any such items would be removed by staff, the hotel did not enforce this policy as throughout the day we had a problem getting a sunbed as people would go down to the pool first thing in the morning and reserve their spot with their towel or a book etc then not return til 3pm in the afternoon which was irritating.

Food was good, food in pool bar very good and buffet as expected really. Some things a bit bland but ok if you picked and chose what you had.

Overall I would recommend the hotel as it is in a great location (just off the main strip, beach and the harbour) good value for money and beautifully maintained.

This was our second visit to this hotel . It was so fantastic we didnt want to leave. There were four of us staying here , two couples in our late fourties, early fifties. We had the wellness rooms which were on the lower floor, we had requested pool view but were given rooms overlooking gardens , after viewing rooms with pool views we all agreed we preferred the ones we were in as they were so peaceful and private. Everything about this hotel is just perfect, rooms, pools ,bars, restaurants and as for the wellness center just perfect. The location is excellent and the staff are top class. We went halfboard and the food was excellent , something for every taste,There was some very good entertainment on the couple of nights we stayed in the hotel . But there are so many lovely places to eat and drink in corralejo we went out most nights. Overall its an amazing hotel and we cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: Wellness rooms have no pool view , but they are very private and peaceful with lots of afternoon sun...

Had a great stay in this hotel. Lovely relaxing holiday with good facilities. The pool area is great and the hotel is close to the beach but off the main thoroughfare so it's quiet and more secluded.

The selection at dinner was good. There was a great variety and there was always something I'd eat. Desserts were disappointing. You have to pay for all drinks including water. I think a bottle of water should be provided at the tables.

Two single beds pushed together was a bit of a pain. I know lots of hotels do this but often the beds lock together and the bedclothes are over the two whereas here they were just two individual beds.

We didn't use the Wellness Centre but it looked nice.

We went to this hotel for our honeymoon in Sept'13.
Location was perfect. It really was in the best location for what we wanted. Just off the Main Street of Corralejo so away from the busiest noisiest bit but only a couple of mins away so easy to walk to within mins.
Food was exceptional and the service. Plenty of variety, the fish was lovely. It doeSn't have amazing desserts, we prefer British desserts, but that was probably for the best with how much we ate.
Drinks were cheap, 2euro 50c for a large glass of nice wine, 8euro a bottle. We did half board and that is more than enough unless you like a drink and it pays to go all incl.
Rooms we're clean, spacious and you get a fridge. We had a normal double room on the second floor. 2 single beds put together is a pain but not a disaster and you deal with it.

Facilities were really good, pools are nice, it's just a lovely place to stay where you would have to be a real whinger to find any real faults with it. We were one of the younger couples in the hotel as most couples were over 40 but we quite liked it.

Definitely recommend this to newly weds. The town is really nice too and we'd recommend the day trip to the zoo. Day trip to Lanzarote was a bit too much for what you get although it does make you feel lucky you're staying in Fuerteventura as it is much nicer!

Staff were all very friendly and always willing to help. very quiet and relaxing, rooms kept very clean, also really comfy beds. We did not use wellness centre, Excellent pool area, hotel supply free pool towels which you could change through week free of charge. Beautiful beach is very close to hotel. Good selection of food for breakfast but evening meal was hit or miss.Staff attentive always kept restocking service trays for both breakfast and evening meals.

Tipped as a 4* venue, this hotel is very good. Does it deserve this rating?

My wife and I stayed here for 10 days in late September/early October in 2013 with Thompson. We were looking for a relaxing, no-kids environment. On these two points, the hotel delivered by the bucket load.

My wife and I are mid/late 30's. Normally, our age wouldn't register in a review, but I put it here as a comparison to our perceived average age of our fellow guests. This was nearer early 60's. Not that this is a complaint (we must have missed something in the brochure) but the atmosphere of the hotel, the entertainment, the daily activities and the general feel was aimed at the 60 something age range. While we wanted quiet, we didn't really want it to be this quiet.

I cannot fault the hotel facilities. The half-board buffet restaurant was excellent. The rooms were well stocked and cleaned exceptionally well and the bar tariff was reasonable.

Luckily, this hotel is exceptionally well located. It is away from the main street which allows it to maintain it's quite feel. However, the main strip is only 10 minutes walk away (at most!) so if you do need to find a more lively venue, its well within your grasp.

This is our last adult holiday before our first child is born and wanted an adult only hotel, and this seemed to fit the bill.

On arrival the reception staff can be a bit hard work, insisting that you pay upfront for the room rather than at the end as per most other hotels.

We initially had a well being room which have us two days access to the spa as well, however the ground floor room was old fashioned in its decor and in the morning we discovered cock roaches, so paid to upgrade to a well being deluxe - which is on the first floor and recently redecorated with your own private hot tub and sun deck with fake turf on top of reception which was very nice,

We only had b&b and the breakfast was more than adequate, the hotel has three pools, one of which is nicely heated and where we spent most of our time.

The spa is recently refitted and was very classy with a 'maze' of showers which has to be experienced and really this for me is how te hotel should be fitted out - rather than having this as an extra.

I will say that the average age in the hotel was probably 50+ which surprised me, in fact in reception they have a mobility scooter for clients to use which says it all. The evening entertainment is not great and we found it much not enjoyable to go into town each evening
