Quick and easy check in, lovely room with good balcony and nice furniture. The hotel is very smart, all the staff very friendly and helpful. There are always plenty of beds available by the pool and with no children it is lovely and peaceful. Pool service and bar very good. The spa area is lovely and some of the offers very good. Good location, near to beach and and short stroll into the resort centre and harbour. Always plenty of tables available in the restaurant and it is very nice to be able to sit outside for your evening meal if you wish. The choices at breakfast were sometimes a little strange! You can book an evening meal in the pool bar on certain nights and this was very good. We will certainly be going back.

We had a fantastic welcome at the hotel when we arrived. The person on reception explained everything to us including the special a la carte menus.

The rooms are a really good size with plenty of space. Cleaned each day. Option to have minibar stocked is available but the local supermarket is on hand for everything.

We came all inclusive and found that to cover pretty much all we need. The staff in the restaurant and pool bar are extremely happy and friendly.

This is definitely a place for people who want peace and quiet. No children. No music around the pool. There have been a few acts on and people got up to dance. The main sreet is a few mins away for a livelier time. The beach is five mins walk away too, although not massively sandy. Apparently there's a bus to take you to the Dunes for the day but we haven't done that as just enjoying sitting quietly by pool before going back to hectic normality.

Stayed last week in October 2012. On arrival checking in was made easy and our cases taken to our room which was on the third floor and pool facing getting the afternoon sun on the balcony. We had asked for this when booking but had received no confirmation.

The room was clean and well decorated. The bathroom was a little tired but more than useable. Beds were comfortable, it seems as though the hotel has added a small thinner mattress to go on to of the other one. One surprise was the addition of a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities; the porter stated this had been in for the past few weeks. (we need not have taken out travel kettle!)
The air conditioning was more than adequate, slightly noisy but have had worse. The television was only able to get Sky News plus a couple of film channels in English but this was enough just to keep up to date with world events.
The buffet dining was the usual type you get in this sort of hotel. There was normally enough variety for both of us to find something to sustain us.

Breakfasts were ok, however the water never seemed hot enough for the tea and to have to walk around with teapots did not seem a great idea. Would have hoped for waiter service from a four star hotel. There was an even worse idea for getting coffee with people queuing up with cups in hand to try and operate the machines in the corner. And my wife says why do they have to serve up so much tinned fruit on a semi-tropical island?

Dinner was the somewhat the same most evenings, usually something for everyone. I would think that more than seven meals would become somewhat repetitious.

The waiters did a good job, but it did seem that staff numbers were restricted and that meant something of a wait while dishes were collected and tables re-laid. The staff were however always friendly and polite.
One real gripe however was that there were supposed to be long trousers for men at dinner. They did not apply this. I would have liked to have worn shorts but didn’t because of the rule.

The swimming pools and the surroundings were extremely well looked after clean and tidy, but the water was cool. There was something of a rush to put out the towels but usually there were enough sun loungers to go around.

The entertainment in the evenings was poor, as they always seem to be.

The hotel could not be better situated, as it is only a short walk to both the main street and the beach. There are numerous bars, we took up a previous recommendation from here and used the Rock Café and the Banana Bar. Both excellent value, also recommend spending some evening time in the main square near the harbour, some excellent local entertainment.

You can walk from the hotel all the way around the coastline to the other two hotels on the sand dunes. It takes about 90 minutes but make sure you take water with you.

All in all a good hotel that is now adults only and we were expecting a lot of older people but were pleasantly surprised with the younger element that were there.

Wow my husband booked this for my wedding anniversary. We stayed for 7 nights the hotel staff were very friendly and informative. Check in took a while but the information they gave you about the hotel, services and dour rounding area was fantastic. There are no children at the hotel so it was very peaceful. They have a wellness suite and gym where you can get many treatments at an extra cost. The hotel is perfectly placed between the main town and the sand dunes . I would recommend this hotel. The food was Buffett with plenty to choose from. Our room was cleaned daily and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. You do not pay cash everything has to go on your room which can be good or bad. We paid daily so we did not have a shock when we checked out. Drinks were reasonable the same as local bars in town €2 for water €5 for spirits and soft drinks.
If I visited again I would only go bed and breakfast as there are so many nice restaurants in town to try. Great holiday enjoy!

Very good: spacious, comfy rooms; very helpful staff; lovely pools (if a bit cold at first) and sunbeds; fantastic spa (which good value too - we booked two sessions and they let us in free for the first one) and good exercise classes. Very clean. Perfect location in town.

Could be better: the breakfast is adequate but the evening meals are poor. My girlfriend is vegetarian and there was virtually nothing she could eat. OK, so that's a problem for Spain overall, but even the salads had sausage and tuna chopped into them. So it's one for meat eaters only really. I eat meat but it was fairly average grub anyway - we ended up eating out for four nights of the seven because of this (despite booking half board) and it increased our costs dramatically.

I'd still recommend this hotel to the unfussy, food-wise, but if you're a big food fan you'll be disappointed, and if you're a veggie you'll be hungry. I'd come back here, but not stay half-board.

Just returned from a week-long family holiday, plus girlfriends, making 6 people in total, staying half-board at this Barcelo hotel. As our first visit to Feurtaventura, this was a fantastic hotel from which to experience Corralejo for the first time.

The rooms are very spacious, clean, well air-conditioned with comfortable beds and furniture, and good bathroom facilities (especially the shower head, always important!). I think all rooms have balconies but this is in any case a welcome addition to the rooms, being able to throw open the doors and let in the warm air and sunshine in the early morning/early evening.

The hotel's communal areas were virtually spotless and excellently maintained. The large pool space at the centre of the hotel is lovely, plenty of room to find a suitable spot, even for a group trying to get 6 loungers together. The pool area was clean, pleasant and well looked after. The two main swimming pools are fairly cold but only in comparison to the air which is likely to be pretty warm whenever you're here. The pools themselves look glorious and inviting in the sunshine.

The food seems to have got a bad press in previous reviews but I would say as long as you're not expecting 'fine dining' every night, the food is actually excellent. Especially at breakfast, where they aim to meet a range of guest preferences with fresh fruits, yoghurts, cheeses, cereals, fish, bread, hot fried breakfast (great for hungry Englanders). We had 3 evening meals in the main restaurant and all were excellent - tasty, seemingly unlimited portions, a range to choose from (cold, hot courses) and the paella is recommended. We also tried the weekly barbecue, which was a slight disappointment as it was not held outdoors, and although the food was nice and again, wide-ranging (chicken kebabs, sausages, grilled fish, strange burgers) it didn't have an authentic barbecue feel to it. Finally, our group sat down to the a la carte evening meal, the steak being the nicest meal of the holiday.

As half-board guests, both the BBQ and a la carte were at no added cost to our group.

The weather this week was warm but not overly sunny, and as a result of one cloudy day, we all visited the Wellness Centre with a 15euro 'water therapy circuit' pass, which gives you access to come and go for an entire day (8am-7.30pm). I have to say that price is a bargain; we spent almost eight hours trying out the different temperature pools, showers, steam and sauna rooms, jacuzzi, ice bath. The whole thing is lit with relaxing, dark lights, plus there is an outside area, separate from the main pool area, where guests can read, dry off, order food and make coffees. In fact it was so enjoyable we even considered it would have been worth the money to spend just two or three hours in there again, on another afternoon when it was not sunny.

Other things worth a mention: the tennis courts are in great condition, and seemed very popular with guests and non-guests alike - 9euros for an hour with racquets and balls included. Also, contrary to some older reports I've seen, the gym is FREE to all guests. If you're into fitness there's enough in the compact gym to keep up your regime during your stay.

You can't bring children to the resort, and even for us (the youngest in our family party was 24) it was surprising how much this was appreciated. Sorry, parents with kids!

Finally, the Barcelo is a very short distance from a busy highstreet and host of bars, restaurants, all within 15 minutes' walk along the beach, which is just far enough away from the nightlife and beach resorts to remain quiet, but keeps everything in easy reach. For our group, the location was essentially perfect.

Room Tip: We had a room on the east wing of the resort, that didn't overlook the pool, which meant our bal...

We arrived at the Hotel and thought it looked great from the outside, reception lovely, so far so good, got our keys and made our way to the room. Then it all seemed to go downhill from there.... the room was spacious and had good sized wardrobes, it was clean and had a good sized balcony but the room looked tired and dated. We had two white sheets on our twin beds which were so crunchy with starch that everytime you moved it woke you up. Then we started exploring and our first evening was full of expectation, the food, the entertainment..........we were 'All Inclusive' but everytime we ordered a drink or had any food we had to produce a little credit card sized peice of cardboard that said 'All Inclusive' to produce every single time was a pain. The food was very bland, luke warm and tasteless and by the end of our 10 day stay we had lost weight, we dreaded Breakfast and evening meals none of it was anything to write home about. We were annoyed that they do not supply any packed lunches so if you went out for the day you had to allow for approx £20 to buy lunch for two, which considering we had paid nearly £2000 for our holiday was not fair. Lunchtime meals are only available at the pool bar, the waiters are miserable and don't make you feel welcome at all, the food again is very tasteless, this is only open from 12pm till 4pm so if you go out for the afternoon you have to wait for evening meal in restaurant. The hotel has three good sized pools and they are all aclimatised but they didn't tell us it's aclimatised with 'The North Pole'. There is no music at anytime played round the pool or evenings anywhere in the hotel ever!!!!!!!! I like music but there was no dancing at all. The only good thing I have to say is that there is a courtesy bus that takes you to the beach which is fabulous, it's a couple of miles away and is worth going to, we went nearly every day. The beach that's next to the hotel was OK until you went into the water, a condom floated past my husbands legs and coupled with the floating debris of plastic and seaweed I didn't bother to go in, so it's well worth getting the coutesy bus and going to the nice beach. We met another couple and they were of the same opinion that it was dire, the reviews on Trip Advisor had been so good that we were hugely dissappointed. The entertainment for the whole week was no better than you would see in a lunchtime pub back home, I would expect a show or something but the most we got was Z lister acts, very poor infact the worst I have ever seen. A sheet of daytime activities was handed out and it consisted of Zumba at 10am (the average age at the hotel was 65yrs-75yrs) needless to say nobody done that. A sheet of paper was silently handed out to patrons on sunbeds to complete Suduko, Wow, no expence spared and the next entertainment was at 10pm in the bar, (and the act usually drew in a huge crowd of 10-15 people) and it usually finished by 10-40pm, everybody was in bed by approx 11pm, I was going to bed earlier than at home, most nights we walked into the main street which is full of bars with good music and groups playing, we enjoyed walking to the Harbour and seeing the entertainment in the square. The Spa looked lovely in the broucher and as soon as we got there we were told how much the treatments were, needless to say we didn't set foot in the spa as it was ridiculously expensive, £100 for 1 hr massage etc. On our last day they had camers's filming at the hotel, the waiters were doing take after take serving the two beautiful looking cocktails to the two models on the sunloungers, the camers were rolling all day, I laughed and said we have'nt had anybody serve us in 10 days on our sunloungers, However on the friday the night before we left we heard loud modern chart music, everybody came out on their balconies to see where the fun was coming from, it was a private party, we were overlooking the spa and the party was full of trays of fantastic looking food, everybody having special Spa treatments, this went onto approx 1am, which for those of us getting up for an early flight was a tad unfair, but imagine our surprise when we all came down for our early breakfast, the spa guests who were all boozing and drinking into the wee small hours now didn't have their robes on but their uniforms, yes they were all looking worse for wear and had their Captains, Pilot's uniforms on and flight attendants and stewardesses all ready to fly us home, We left our pet cockroach we named 'Rocky' as he was too big to fit into our hand luggage. My verdict is choose facing the pool, don't go 'All Inclusive', if you want holiday where you don't get good food, good entertainment, and enjoy a deathly silence during the day, unfriendly staff then this is for you.

Room Tip: Choose facing the pool, or sea veiw
