“good hotel for families and couples”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

I arrived on the 17th of november the staff where helpful and polite, the food was a good standard for an all inclusive, and the drinks were ok aswell, rooms were clean and spacious just a little bit dated but was happy wish we had a better view though, i was happy with the standards of all aspects of the hotel and staff, sadly the weather let us down which is stange but i would say this hotel is suitable for families and couples, if you want a quiet relaxing holiday i would avoid the main pool and the animation team the main pool is always busy and the animation team was to much for me people loved them just not my cup of tea, i would go back just with my partner.

It's not bad but not the best hotel in the world

Arrived and hotel reception is really clean, room was not ready but went and had some lunch and the cases were in the room afterwards. Same as with all "all inclusive hotels" extras on arrival are €20 euro deposit each beach towel, €25 wifi per week and €2.50 for a safe and €30 euro deposit. Room ok spacious we had a 2 bed and it could sleep 6 if needed floors not the cleanest but not bad either. Great blackout curtains keep the room black and the kids asleep. Tv is a small old tv but we never used it anyhow.

Complex is not on a beach but not bad location about 40 mins from airport. Watch the shop the women that was in the shop every morning always tried to short change me the odd euro here and there and there is a cheaper hyper dino at the end of the drive anyway.

Food all inclusive basic but ok gala night was a good spread but not restaurant quality.

Our only downside was that on arrival the reception (Michael) could have said that only pools that are heated in winter are the kids pool (6inch deep) and the main pool by volleyball. Instead he came up with a story that we were staying by the heated tropical pool just makes them sound stupid it made no difference to me.

Anyone going must make trip to sand dune beach great clean beach (little windy)

In summery good hotel, great staff everyone really nice an the rep mark was good also, one other thing I would do taxi transfers next as all the hotel pick ups were the same time leading to a rush at the airport.

Check in
Very quick and everything explained well. The entrance and lobby to the hotel are very impressive.

Rooms
We had a first floor room in 3000 area. This area was very close to the main plaza anf tropic pool. Very clean, the daily maid service was excellent. The rooms were large (we had a one bedroom suite) and arranged in low level villa style buildings. The bathroom was spacious and well maintained. Plenty of wardrobe space and drawer space. The dressing table was oddly placed under the bedroom window with no mirror! TV was okay, a few English channels. I had to ask reception for extra pillows as there was only one each in the bed, this was arranged within a couple of hours. The room also had a lovely balcony with nice high back chairs and table and also an airer for damp swimwear.

Pools
We spent most of our time around the tropic pool and bar as it was quieter than the main area. The pool was freezing!! Far too cold for swimming. The main activity pool was heated so this was a bit more pleasant for swimming! The pool area was very clean and well kept and the tropic pool bar provided good service from 11am-6pm. There was plenty if sun loungers and not really a problem in getting a lounger anytime if day, unless you preferred a particular spot.

Food
Most meals are taken in the Gaudi buffet restaurant. Breakfast was good, quite a lot of choice with cooked breakfast, cereals, smoothies etc.
However, lunch and dinner were not pleasant! All the drinks, wine, beer, soft drinks etc, were self service, which is something I've never seen in a 4* all inclusive. The food itself was okay but there was not much choice and it was hard to put a meal together. All in all, the buffet restaurant had a very 'canteen feel' as stated in previous reviews.
We tried the Spanish restaurant for Christmas dinner....food was marginally better than buffet however the service was diabolical with two of our party on dessert before the other two had even received their main meals.
The main pool bar, Rambutan, was much nicer for lunch. Although we did dub this the 'pigeon' bar due to the amount of birds attracted to food left on the outside tables!

Bars etc
We didn't sample any of the entertainment as it was very family orientated and we were a group of adults. Although I should say that the animacion team seemed to work very hard day and night and all the kids looked to be having a great time.
The main plaza bar at night was very busy and service could be slow. Also, the green plastic patio furniture in this area was a bit of a turn off. The El Dorado Rock bar, which is adults only, had a nicer atmosphere with background music or occasionally screenings of 'rock' concerts on a projector. Service was a bit quicker in this bar.
There was a bar in lobby which was open in he evening also, but we did not try this.
All inclusive beer was Estrella and the red/white/rose wine was palatable. Lots of domestic brand spirits available and a few cocktails.

Location
10 minute walk to corralejo town and further 5 minutes to harbour. Taxi was no more than €4-5.
5 minute walk to the beach which was a bit rocky, although a further 10 min walk you were at the dunes and the beaches in that area are gorgeous (watch out for the nudies!!)
There was a hiperdino supermarket more or less on site which was well stocked.

Overall we had a relaxing holiday in a clean, well kept hotel with decent service. We would most definately return to Corralejo but I doubt very much we would return to the Suite Hotel Atlantis unless the price was right.

My wife and I wanted a sunny holiday with our 4month old baby. We wanted all inclusive and somewhere I could kite surf for perhaps a couple of afternoons. We chose the Atlantis suites hotel. The good: I like the low rise layout, no more than 2 story's high, everything about the hotel is kept very clean and well maintained. Even in the off season all bars and facilities were open. The food was always replenished and of a good standard, a cooked to order meat and fish item every night plus many more options including a roast of some variety, plenty of the more expensive choices like muscles, prawns and pancetta The staff always have a smile, especially for the little one. I also liked the mix of nationalities, all brits and this really would of felt like Butlins, and so to the bad: the canteen, I'd like to call it a restaurant but its not, it's just too big. The food away from the main dish items was very repetitive. The 2 'option' restaurants, we arrived on a wednesday which makes it technically impossible to book in to the rambutan, it only opens on Wednesday and you have to book in from 9 - 10, we arrived midday. The el modeno, it was appalling in terms of food and service, when I complained about the burnt asparagus with my lamb and mushrooms dish (which had no mushrooms?) i was offered a baked potato instead??the general canteen is much better. The entertainment, I've never been much for hotel entertainment but this seemed very poor, no sign of local culture on display, if you like Greece tributes etc. it's for you. The location, I wanted to kite a couple of afternoons but the hotel is a reasonable 30 minute walk from the main beach area and once there ( if windy) there's no shelter from any wind, its very open. The walk to the harbour is 30 mins too, fine if with pram but quite a trek if you have toddlers. The ugly: this is one of the Canary Islands, if you like rocks and dust you'll love it. If you want to travel around and see sights or culture then go elsewhere.....

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write your personal experience about your stay on Fuerteventura here on Tripadvisor.
We are glad to read that the over all impression of our hotel, the installations, cleanliness and staff was a good one, so you have enjoyed yo9ur stay at our Suite Hotel Atlantis Fuerteventura Resort.
Regarding the animation team we are surprised about your comment, because the team receives a lot of very good comments and compliments from our guest because of their big variety of daytime activities for children and adults and also for the evening entertainment with mini disco and shows. But you can be sure we take your comment very serious to improve our service and offer.
Fuerteventura offers a lot of possibilities for guest who likes to go for water sports like surfing, wind- or kite surfing. Here on the island we have more than 175 different beaches and each of them has is own nice atmosphere. There is also a lot of information about the best spots for surfers so you always can find good company and really enjoy your sport. Furthermore there are a lot of museums and interesting places on the island, therefore the various tour operators offer guided tours or you go on your own and discover the island.
It will be a pleasure for us to be again your host on your next stay on Fuerteventura.

Kindest regards,
The General Manager

I just wanted a 10 night break, doing very little. The hotel does exactly what is says on the tin! There is plenty to keep guests of all ages fully occupied if that is what you want or you can choose to do as little as you want! When the animation team are in full swing, it can be very noisy but if you go at quiet times of the year, the hotel is large enough to find areas to escape to! I only ate in the main restaurant and as I could not fault the choice of food, I could not be bothered to book for the other two restaurants. Heard very iffy reports about the standard of the food in the spanish restaurant but good things about the Asian restaurant. Worth getting away to the town for a break: food very reasonably priced in a good selection of restaurants. Also worth going to the nearby sand-dune beach: 5 minutes by shuttle bus and 45 minutes walk.

Room Tip: Stayed in Block 6 - quieter. Had upstairs room: would not suit those struggling with heavy suitcases...

Dear Guest,

First of all we would like to thank you for your comment here on tripadvisor.
We are glad to read that the all over impression of our Suite Hotel Atlantis Fuerteventura Resort was a good one and you have enjoyed your stay with us. In the main restaurant Gaudi we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with always changing buffets and various theme buffets in the evening. Also there are show cooking stations at every service which offers our guest a big variety of food and meals prepared a la minute.
As the hotel offers something for all ages we have some special areas for adults only, like in the main restaurant, the SPA centre, the relax pool and our new opened bar the “Eldorado Rock Café”. With this variety all our guest can choose where and which way they would create their stay.
It is a pleasure to hear that you also have discovered the little nice town Corralejo and the big sand dunes with the beautiful beach, to were our free shuttle bus goes various times a day.
We are looking forward to welcome you again in our Suite Hotel Atlantis Fuerteventura Resort.

Just returned from a 10 night stay at the Suite Atlantis. All staff very friendly (reception, bar, restaurant, animation), complex very clean, gardens well maintained, maid service excellent - room was left very clean each day, excellent choice of food in the main restaurant. Animation team work so hard and are a very friendly, enthusiastic bunch of guys and girls. Thank you to Zolo and his team (Flori fantastic with the teens and a great personality, Adi a sweet, friendly, pleasant young lady). The whole team are an asset to the hotel and made our holiday very enjoyable - although they try their very best to get holiday makers involved in the activities around the main pool they aren't pushy and if you say no, they move on. A 15 minute walk to main street of shops (or 4 euros in taxi) - taxi service brilliant - booked by Security at the hotel and taxi arrives within minutes. Hotel isn't on sea front and the best beach is by the dunes - take the hotel shuttle bus to this fantastic beach. Harbour worth a visit. Our room was around the pool near the spa - a nice location to be although many of the high floor room balconys have palm trees right in front of them. We were disappointed we had to pay 8 euros per hour to play tennis (Thomas Cook brochure didn't state this but gave the impression that tennis was a free activity) so having taken our tennis rackets and own balls we werent left very happy. if you like golf take a 10 minute taxi ride to Mirador De Lobos Golf - club hire for junior was 5 euros plus 15 euros to play 18 holes (2 x 9 holes) - brilliant course to practice your short game. Longest hole no more than 100 yards. Staff at this golf course very, very friendly. Had a drink outside clubhouse afterwards - they couldn't do enough for us and in lovely surroundings. Take some bread to feed the chipmunks that live in the rocks around the course.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2012

We were really impressed by the hotel complex, room comfort and friendliness of all the staff. We stayed at the hotel from 15 - 22 December 2012. The first 4 days the hotel was really quiet. There was never a problem getting a great pitch around one of the 7 pools and it wasn't over run with children. The last 3 days the complex was filling up but we still received excellent fast service.

Food: The quality of the food is excellent at both the pool bar and in the main Gaude resturant. I recommend that you book to go to the Rambutan (Asian) and El Molino (Spanish) on site restaurants during your stay. The food in the Spanish resturant was fantastic. I would have gone there every night if I could.

Rooms: The rooms are a good size and generally have a bedroom, bathroom and living area with fridge. No tea or coffee making facilities but this wasn't a problem as you could grab a cuppa at one of the bars. Avoid rooms in the 3xxx range if you want a quiet room at night as these all surround the main resturant, bars and disco. Rooms numbered x2xx are all upstairs which require you to lug your cases, I suggest you ask reception for help to deliver your cases.

Pools: there are plenty of pools and loungers. Nobody was saving pitches with towels and it was nice to vary your sun spot. All pool areas were clean. The only downside is none of the loungers went flat and the pools were freezing.

Staff: If you want the staff to be constantly fussing over you, then this is not the hotel for you. The staff are all really nice and don't hurry you in the bars and restaurants.

Bars: when we went only the pool bar and tropical bars was open in the day. As its all serve yourself we didn't have to queue. At night the main bar was the the plaza. This was busy but they always had plenty of staff on so you were served quickly with supper sized quantities of spirit. If you want to escape the hustle and noise there is an adults only bar (El Dorado rock bar) where you will receive a warm welcome from Mario, Diago or Sergio.

Annimation: the team were excellent. Always happy and friendly. We even started to look forward to the waka waka club song every day.

Location: the hotel is about 15 - 20 minutes walk into the main strip. It's a flat walk along the main road or a slightly more challenging one along the beach front. The beach is about 5 mins from the hotel, but it's worth walking up the beach to locate the golden sand.

Weather: we had a couple of overcast days but the temp was over 25 deg each day. At night it felt a bit chilly. We didn't get one drop of rain.

Overall we loved our holiday and once I complete this review I am going to book the same hotel, same week for next year.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms 3xxx unless you like it loud.
