I am currently on my last day here at the marismas hotel and its such a shame the all inclusive and the entertainment was a complete let down. I'm here with my husband and 4 children from age 13 to 20. The hotel is lovely and very clean we were given two large rooms interconnecting on ground floor right next to main pool area :) the maids service is excellent and the self catering facillities are good .. Everything you would need. We paid to go all inclusive as we have never done it before and straight away we were disappointed. Not geared for the English at all more for the Germans. The food is very repetitive and unless you get there straight away the food quickly goes cold. My son burnt his foot quite badly on the 2nd day and we weren't allowed to take him any food to our room.. All food to be consumed In dining room and even the pool bar wouldn't allow you to take food to your sunbed ... This was a pain !
The only food all inclusive at pool bar was a burger or a toastie everything else was chargeable ! No Icecream for all inclusive guests either and this is meant to be 4 star! The entertainment was non existence and we had to spend money going out into town or sit in an empty room playing cards.. Kids are not catered for here at night time except a little kids dance / disco with one rep singing the same songs every night . It's a real shame because the mini golf on site was great and the hotel could be a lovely place to stay if they got the all inclusive right for what we paid and provided better entertainment every night . I would stay here again if that was improved. Would like to add the barman was the only member of staff that seemed to enjoy his job and was polite and friendly. Overall great hotel pool and lovely rooms but all inclusive is too limited and entertainment is terrible.

We managed to get a really good value last minute deal for this hotel, so thought why not. Our room was clean and tidy, but our balcony looked straight onto the carpark which wasn't great, and we were worried about the security. The poor area was nice, and the food was typical for an all inclusive so nothing to complain about there. We thought that the drinks included let the place down, and several staff members were rude towards customers. This is not what you want when you pay for a relaxing holiday, and the standard wasn't acceptable in comparison to other hotels. At night we tended to walk into town, rather than stay at the hotel and make the most of the all inclusive drinks as there was was no nice bar area outside. Just kids running around, and a few people sat in a dingy room. They also mostly served drinks in plastic glasses, which wasn't a great experience. This meant we had to pay extra money for drinks at night, but we felt it was worth it to have a relaxing drink.
Overall we felt we got what we paid for. It's a good family hotel, not so great for couples, and you might need to be prepared to leave the hotel at night to have a nice evening, with nice drinks, in a nice location, and without lots of screaming kids running about.

Dear guests, thank you for finding a few minutes to write about your experience in our hotel. We are sorry to read some negative observations about some of our staff members and will try to improve this critical point. Regarding the entertainment we would like to point out that Las Marismas is intended to be a peaceful apartment complex without too much animation and music. This is especially appreciated by many repeat guests and as you already explained, for the more enterprising guests there are plenty of entertainment options in Corralejo and surroundings.

We spent 11 nights at this hotel in march with our two yr old daughter. This hotel was great for families with good sized apartments, nice pools, a good kids play area and kids club. The staff were friendly and willing to assist and we had no issues. We were self catering so didn't experience the food or drink but others said the variety was good and food fine. The hotel is about 10 min walk from the beach and town, which was no problem at all. Its a bit further to the harbour and nicer restaurants but we didn't mind the walk. All in all, a great vfm hotel.

Room Tip: We emailed a request in advance and were given room 1301 which has a massive double aspect balcony...

We stayed for a week in February.
The rooms where superb, with fresh bath rooms and large balcony.
The food was great with different choices in the buff'e each day.

Nice pool area and great play ground for children.
The hotel is located walking distance from Corralejo city centre.

The only negative was that the cleaning could have been better.
We wouldn't doubt in booking this hotel in the future and can recommend it to anyone.
Thanks for a great stay!

Stayed at Las Marismas in February with my partner and 19 year old daughter. Chose this complex as they offered all inclusive. Read mixed reviews regarding food but there was a very good selection of food at every meal. It isn't cordon bleu but they are cooking for large numbers of people and the meal times have a two hour window so food can be spoiled but there is a microwave in which you can re heat your food. they topped up the serving dishes frequently. There was a chef cooking steak, pork and lamb as it was needed and he carved the meat for the diners. Beer, white/ red wine, sangria and all soft drinks on tap in restaurant. We never left the restaurant hungry. The restaurant staff worked very hard and tables were cleared and set again very quickly. We found the complex to be spotlessly clean and had a large apartment on the top floor with a south facing balcony which I had requested. Large living area and a kitchen with all you would need if you were self catering. Toaster, kettle and microwave. Never been to an apartment which had those as standard. Normally would have to hire micro and toaster and use a pot if you wanted to boil water. Large bedroom with huge bed. Ceiling fan in bedroom but no air con in living room. We asked for extra pillows which we got no problem. Clean bathroom with toiletries and a good hairdryer. Our apartment was cleaned every day while we were there. Every area was spotlessly clean. No litter. Plastic cups at pool area which is understandable. The pool bar was central to all three pools so was handy for getting drinks during the day. Only ate once at pool bar but food was freshly cooked. Staff at pool area were efficient. Sun loungers were wooden and of good quality. You went to a storage hut to get the pad for them. No problem getting a lounger. There were three pools so lots of space. The main street of Corralejo was about a ten minute walk. Same for the promenade. Lots of restaurants and bars very reasonably priced. We ate out three times but only because it made us make the effort to leave the complex at night. Not much entertainment there but maybe in the summer it is better. On the main strip there were live bands playing in a few bars. We walked down to the beach every day and would have a beer or two in La Bodega which overlooked the sparkling sea. Bliss.
The apartment complex was quiet at night but my only gripe was we were surrounded in our apartment by children. Two babies under two next door and very young children on the other side. I understand this is a family complex but I've been there and done that with my two children. On holiday I don't like being wakened before 7 by children crying and banging things on the railings of their balcony. Maybe with a bit of planning the management could put adults only in a section of the complex away from families with very young children. I did mention to our Thomson rep and she told me to ask for a change of apartment but we had already unpacked by that time. I would certainly recommend this complex to anyone with a family. Lots going on. Mini golf, tennis courts, aqua aerobics and mini disco for the kids and right next door to the water park. If they had an accommodation section of the complex that was adults only I would certainly go back. We did look at the Barcelo Corralejo while we were there which is adults only so maybe that would suit us better.

Room Tip: We asked for top floor south facing apartment. Got room 2557 which overlooked childrens play area. 5...

Really pleased we chose Las Marismas for our week's stay in Corralejo. It's in a great location, not far away from the shops & restaurants, in a quieter spot on the edge of town. The room was great, very spacious & clean & the hotels pool & grounds appeared well looked after. The Staff were always friendly & helpful & a staff member of reception went out of her way to help with an issue we had with our hire car. On the subject of hire cars I would not recommend using Goldcar, it took over an hour & a half from the time we collected our bags until we were driving away. I would recommend getting a car for your stay though as there are plenty of interesting places to visit & some amazing scenery, just be prepared for some slightly rough driving tracks in places! Overall a very good base for a relaxing week in Fuerteventura, I hope to visit again in the near future.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in June 2012. We stayed on a self-catering basis. There is a mini market on site and it has mostly everything you need for your stay. I really enjoyed going to the shop everyday and buying fresh bread for breakfast. The hotel surroundings were very peaceful. The pool was cold, but you get used to it once you're in!

Our room was not bad, although it overlooked the tennis ground which made it awkward as you had to be careful to draw the curtains when changing etc! I would recommend it to families mostly. If you are a person who really enjoys entertainment and TV, please note that although there is a TV, all the channels are in Spanish. You can rent a DVD player at the reception so bring some films or buy some in duty free if you prefer.

There is a sort of "gym" on site but it consists of a few cycles and a cross trainer that looks dangerously on the verge of falling apart, but it can be useful for those of you who can't live without exercise! Also, they offer classes.

Enjoy your stay!

It is good to know that you had a relaxing holiday at Las Marismas. As you have rightly said, we attach great importance to a peaceful atmosphere, and are always happy when our guests do appreciate this. Nevertheless there are plenty of ways to make the time actively, playing tenis, squash, crazy golf, beach volley or doing aerobics ....
