“Good Value, we had a very good time!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Just back from Oasis Village. We have visited Corralejo on eight occasions staying at various hotels, this was our first all inclusive experience. Our room was excellent, large bedroom, lounge and bathroom, loads of room for my wife and me and our teenage son. The hotel is clean and generally well maintained with excellent pool area and gardens. The staff are friendly and attentive, check in was simple and the staff member was extremely helpful and courteous. Food was OK, we never found a meal time when there was nothing suitable to eat and on occasions the food was good. The Chinese theme night was not one of those occasions however. Service at the bars was swift and their policy of only serving two drinks per person certainly works to keep the queues flowing. However there was a down side for us, mostly drinks were thrown together and served in plastic cups! I can appreciate that when drinks are served around the pool areas, but inside the bar at 10.30 pm with a G&T in a plastic cup is not very enticing. There is plenty going on during the day with various activities in and out of the water, the activities add a bit of fun to the day and there is no pressure to join in. The evening entertainment is a different, generally for the younger children until 9 o'clock, then followed by bingo then followed by some entertainment. During our week, for 5 of the evenings the entertainment was provided by the Thomas Cook team whilst the other two nights it was provided by local acts, a magician and a Reggae singer. This entertainment lasted for an hour at 10pm, we really thought it was poor and we didn't manage to see it through. This contributed to the down side of the holiday for us as there was no other bar to use at this hotel and therefore the evening entertainment became mandatory if you wanted to have a few drinks, albeit it in plastic cups, in the bar.
In conclusion, it's unlikely we would go back to the Oasis Village again however it is OK and it is a budget hotel and it does deliver value for money, there are no really bad points.

Room Tip: We had a room in block A on the upper floor, room A220, the location is excellent for access to rece...

Just returned from Oasis Village after 1 week's stay. First impression - looked very nice. After quickly getting checked in, we dumped our luggage in our room and made our way to restaurant just in time for lunch. Oh dear - to say the least we were a little dissapointed with what was on offer, although we managed to find a piece of breaded chicken, some chips and a bit of salad, and being lunch you can't expect too much. It could only get better though, we thought. Evening meal was not much of an improvement though, there was not that much choice and the serving plates were not attended to very often, which meant you would get something on your plate, move along to the next to find it empty, so you either wait for more while what's on your plate goes cold or go without. Breakfast was ok, but don't expect full english breakfast, it was bacon & fried egg one day, sausage and scrambled egg the next. The snack bar which was open for food 1.30pm to 4.30pm, I thought was very good, it almost had as much to offer as the restaurant at lunch time. Although we found the food here not brilliant, we did find something to eat and what we did have was nice, so it was not that bad. The lady who served in the pool bar did a really good job, she was on the go from 10 am to 6 pm, always with a smile on her face. We did go to a Chinese restaurant one evening called China Town, which was 5.99 euro for 'all u can eat buffet', and it was absolutely gorgeous, well worth a visit. The apartments are absolutely massive, big lounge, big bedroom, big bathroom, big balcony. There is a mini fridge and a kettle in the room. Plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space also. Cleaners came in every other day, towels were changed twice. Lovely swimming pools, plenty of sunbeds, no need to reserve unless you want a particular spot. Daytime activities were very good, something going on most of the day if you want to join in. There was a game of bingo around the pool every lunch time, and while we were there the jackpot had reached over 1000 euros. The waterpark is about a 5 minute walk away. 25 euros for adults, 19 euros for kids under 12. Not a huge waterpark, not loads of slides, but we went on everything and enjoyed our day there, you get a wrist band, which meant we could come back to oasis village for lunch, then go back into waterpark. The main strip is about a 5-10 min walk away, the beach about 15 min walk, turn left when you come out of hotel, and a 2 min walk to the nearest supermarket and a lovely shopping centre, turn right out of hotel. We would return to Corralejo again, but probably choose a different hotel, only because of the food, not the hotel itself, but if it was cheap enough we would consider it.

Room Tip: We were in A Block, which was close to pool, restaurant and reception, but still quiet because it fa...

Stayed in oasis village at end of October with my 4 year old son and partner, best holiday that we have had due to Corralejo, its absolutly beautiful, the sand dunes and flag beach are picturesque and felt like we were in paradise, well worth a visit! The hotel itself was good, entertainment staff, the best U can get, fantastic with the kids, reception - great, rooms- bigger than my house! location- short walk from strip, clean gardens, beautiful and spacious pool, friendly, family atmosphere, extremely hard working staff at bar and 'canteen' and fantastic weather....only gripe was the food, we are not at all fussy eaters but even chips were undercooked, spent a fortune eating out (little italy-amazing steak!, retros-overpriced crap!) this place would b amazing with improvements such as food and also air conditioning. Love Corralejo, what a beautiful place and love oasis village but would probably give it a second thought again due to the lack of edible food....really hope this improves!

I have just returned from Oasis Village after 11 great nights, went as a family of 5,inc 3 children aged 10 ,3 and 21 months. We asked for pool view and lower floor as taking buggy and got just what we wanted.Room 1114 which is in a corner overlooking the kids pool which was only 1 minute walk away.Room had travel cot in main bedroom and 2 single beds put together, good hanging space for clothes, main room had settee that made up into bed and also another bed ready made up.There is a small fridge in one of the sideboards also. The bathroom is good size,do take plug for basin as there is none though, and will not fit bath hole either,so showers are all you can have unless like us you use a flannel and cover hole when filling up bath this does trick.
The pools are good size there are 3,1 for little ones then the 2 big ones the one on the lower part only opened on the 2 week we were there after having repairs done ,ane this is the chill out one.
Plenty of sunbeds and the cleaners are always cleaning around the pool during day.
The food is good and good choice could'nt find anything to say bad about it,have theme nights,Indian,Mexican exc with little shots on the way in so that was different.
Thomas Cook Entertainment team work their socks off from 10 o clock and this is from the kids pool area so music is load around here, games, quizes bingo for you to join in if you want.It stops for lunch then starts up again after the stops again around 5.
In the evening there's entertainment in ther show lounge either by the Thomas Cook Team or a local act.
The town is about 15-25 walk away,so to the beach and there is a couple to choose from all nice and sandy and clean, overall great place and will return here again

I recently spent at week at Oasis Village with my 13 year old son and my friend. We holiday on a fairly tight budget and this holiday seemed to suit our needs. We read reviews before we arrived and weren't sure what to expect as it has had mixed reactions. The hotel is very clean. The maids came round almost every day, the towels/sheets were changed regularly and the rooms are spacious( but lacking air conditioning). The pool area is nice and spacious and also very clean and there was usually something going on through the day if you want to take part. The entertainment team are very hardworking and friendly, even though the shows weren't really our taste, but beware if you have a few young children you will need plenty of money as the parties they put on at night for the little ones cost 10euros each. The bar staff were very efficient and the cocktails were nice, not watered down like some all inclusives.
The only thing I can criticise the hotel for is, unfortunately, the food.I am not a complainer, and am a great believer in 'you get what you pay for' , but the food was pretty poor. The breakfast was nice, but lunch and dinner were a let down.It was all quite bland, meat was all very fatty, and there wasn't much in the way of salads as alternative(basically lettuce, cucumber, sweetcorn and tomato) and a week of this was enough! However, on Canararian theme night there was a big improvement and we enjoyed our meal so maybe they need to stick to what they know best instead of trying to imitate English cuisine? We chose to eat out on a couple of nights and found a wonderful place called 'Little Italy' that we had read about in several of the reviews. This is definately worth spending money on.The food was excellent and the staff are lovely, a real gem of a place!
On the whole we enjoyed our stay and Corralejo is a lovely resort, although if you are beach bunnies I would recommend a bus ride to the beach at the sand dunes. It is much better than the town beach. The waterpark is a 5/10 minute walk from the hotel and worth a visit for the kids.
To sum up, I would visit Corralejo again and Oasis village is value for money( good location, clean, lovely efficient staff) but they need to improve the food!

Room Tip: we stayed in room A210 which is close to reception and nice and quiet. Also if you are upstairs it is...

If, like us, you are just after a week in the sun to fortify you for the winter ahead, this will do. If, however, you are looking for somewhere special to spend your hard earned once-a-year holiday, I can't recommend this establishment. There are several hotels in the vicinity with Oasis in their title and I genuinely think anyone rating this as a 4 or more have got this hotel mixed up with one of the others.
It's not all bad news, though. The rooms are large. Spacious (if somewhat stark) living area, large double bedroom and adequate bathroom with one of the largest standard room balconies I've come across. The problem? No air con. Just about managed to sleep in October but it must be unbearable June - September. You have to pay for TV (something last encountered in a Blackpool B&B in the early 70s), and then you have to pay for a remote control on top of that. Needless to say, we didn't.
The pool area is fine, although the quiet pool was out of bounds when we were there. Plenty of sun loungers but watch out for the odd comedy one dotted around to catch you out. You only notice it when backside meets concrete. Oh how we laughed.
Hotel location is good. Supermarket outside, 4 minute stroll to nearest beach from where you get spectacular views across to Lanzarote. Main Street with its many bars and restaurants (believe me, you'll need 'em) is about 5 mins away and the bustling marina about 15 mins away. Look out for sand sculptures on beach just to south of marina and spectacular surfing from the lava flows just to the north. Lanzarote is just 15 mins away by ferry.
Now the really down side. The all-inclusive option is a complete waste. Food poor quality, repetitive and lacking in variation. We've had much better food in many 3rd world countries than we had here. Also, although there are 2 bars, they never open simultaneously; the showbar only opening once pool bar closes. And all drinks are served in plastic or cardboard cups. Local restaurants are excellent but you shouldn't have to rely on them.
Towells and sheets are changed irregularly but in fairness there are clear and polite notices in the rooms explaining the water shortages faced by the island and how this impacts on laundery. Cleaners could still sweep the rooms, though!!
A pool side room may seem attractive but be warned that they are very close to the pool and you may feel on public display. We were in block D. A little uphill but lovely to be woken by birdsong. Not so lovely to go to sleep to the drunken accompaniement of 'I belong to Glasgae' from our rowdy neighbour.
Nice touch to have suncare advisor on site and Thomas Cook staff very friendly - just remember that their aircraft have a seat pitch of a zillionth of an inch.
