Booked here after reading reviews on TA and am so glad we did. We booked through the very characterful Henrik and when we arrived were greeted with a glass of cava and complimentary olives and home made bread. We went for the set menu and all dishes that we tasted were beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Henrik was lovely and chatty telling us about when they opened the restaurant (only 9 months ago) and impressed us in all aspects of his hosting. If I ever visit this island again I would no doubt book here immediately. Fantastic work guys!!

We went here after reading so many positive reviews, and were not disappointed! The food was delicious, but most of all we were taken aback by the service provided by the waiter (young gentleman that was working on the evening of Sunday 31st August 2014, should have asked for his name!) We went for the fixed price menu, which was €25 each. A bit pricier than other restaurants in Corallejo but for good reason!! The prawn and house platter starters were delicious, both the salmon and beef tenderloin mains fantastic and the chocolate brownie dessert was a perfect ending. The little extras, such as the cava on arrival and the waiters detailed knowledge of each dish, made it an extra special night. We were lucky that it wasn't too busy as we visited late on a Sunday, but the restaurant is quite small so do book to make sure you're not dissapointed.

We would definitely recommend a visit if you're in Corallejo!

Booked via email, with a very swift response. This lovely restaurant, is at the end of the harbour up a small side street. We were welcomed by Henrik, who greeted me by my first name, with a very appreciated glass of cava, and mango for the children. We came here as a family of four, and absolutely loved the atmosphere. Glen Miller in the background, and the waiter was so friendly and we commented on how relaxed he made us feel. Now for the food, we eat out a lot at home, and my husband is a great cook. We went for the set menu 25 euros per person. This was worth every penny. It was amazing, I had prawns, and husband and son, a steak starter, carparccio. Our youngest had garlic bread, soft and home made. Mains, we had steak, with lemon spinach, and homemade chips, our son the chicken asparagus stew, he ate all of it, it was excellent. For deserts, I had cheese and toasted nuts, and my husband had an alcohol infused sorbet, our boys, a lemon sorbet. We had a lovely bottle of red wine, and the liquorice vodka to finish was amazing. Thank you for such an amazing experience, worth every penny, and good luck in the future.

We found The Ugly Duckling thanks to the reviews on TA and were very pleased that we did! Amongst the many choices in Corralejo the Ugly Duckling stands out by being different from the crowd. We popped in earlier in the evening to secure a table and as they were expecting a big group we adjusted our timings slightly.
On arrival we were met by Henrik who showed us to our table and promptly offered us a complimntary glass of cava whilst he explained the menu. We both liked the simplicity and the options to choose meat, sauce and sidedishes. We chose the 25 euro fixed price menu which was excellent value and enjoyed a lovely starter of local goats cheese, chorizo and ham with delicious olives. For our main we had taken advice on the best combinations of sauces and side dishes to suit our chicken and salmon and these proved spot on.
The highlight for us both was the delicious chocolate dessert with fruit coulis and sorbet. Lovely and rich and yet refreshing at the same time.
We lingered over drinks and coffee and enjoyed the complimentary shots of homemade liquorice vodka whilst chatting to our host. We have travelled widely and eaten in many of Edinburgh's best restaurants and can happily recommend the Ugly Duckling.
A lovely meal, great host and nice surroundings - we have booked to return next week. The Ugly Duckling is Corralejo's swan!

This is definitely worth a visit (we did - three times!!). From the chilled swing music playing discreetly in the background to the relaxed yet attentive service, the whole atmosphere was perfect for an enjoyable meal & enjoyable it was. On all three occasions one of us had the dish of the day - and each proved to be delicious. The Chicken & Asparagus stew was the family favourite for us, but the pork tenderloin & beef were extremely tasty too. The steak & chicken we ordered were superbly cooked & the home-made chips were crunchy on the outside & fluffy in the middle just the way I like them! There was a small but perfectly formed selection of deserts which couldn't be faulted. The service was perfect and Henrik went out of his way to make it special (Cava for us on arrival & Mango & Orange for the kids) & is so keen to provide personal service that he turned us away the first time we tried to get in - I would recommend making a reservation. You'll probably find many cheaper meals in Corralejo but none with such fab food & service, which for us were the best value for money. We can't recommend it highly enough.
