Had a brilliant week here at Maxorata.
arrived on the 20th dec 2013,about 20.00 we would have been earlier if it wasnt for the man that came on the bus without telling the driver,so he was standing outside waiting on him for half an hour!!
Anyway, dropped the bags off in the apartment which was easy to fine and went for some food as we hadnt eaten since 12.
We knew exactly where we were going to eat as this was our 3rd time in corralejo..we went to the angus steak house at the bottom of the strip, quite reasonably priced for 4 people.
The apartment had 3 bedrooms upstairs and bathroom with bath and shower, and downstairs another shower, toilet and kitchen with dining table and living room with t.v (get the remote for ten euros) which was worth it as it was xmas time and weather at home was terrible so it meant we could gloat at the rain and wind they had back in glasgow when we had 21' every day...lol
These apartments were cheaper than 2 beds in oasis dunas, which we were originally going to book, but with an 18 and 15 yr old it was better with a room each .the master bedroom had a lovely balconey, accessed via patio doors. We asked for a room that got sun during the late evening, which we got,it went away about 5ish,
the staff were very friendly, cleaners were brill,in most days and even made our beds, very trustworthy as we never used the safe and our stuff was still intact if we left it in aprtmnt.
The rooms are a bit echoey, you can hear the chairs scraping etc from adjoining buildings, but thats just a little thing that you can put up with
a holiday is what you make it,and we just wanted to relax, sunbathe and enjoy our family time together, and we certainly did that
would recommend the maxorata,i want to go back next xmas.,but my husband is getting a bit bored now as it has been 3 times there, and there are only so many time one can climb a volcano (he isnt one for sunbathing)
the shops are literally 5 mins away and there are lovely restraunts, which are all opened during the xmas period, even xmas day,so you dont need to worry about lugging the turkey in your case!
we even had a wee visit from one of the local cats, this for us wasnt a problem,as we are cat lovers and have our own..it even stayed the night in our beds, shhhh dont tell the staff!!lol,it was very clean and had its ear clipped, which i understand from last years holiday they do this to say the cat has been neutered.;-)
Lovely pool, very very cold, but it was december, but even then,it didnt stop them going in for a dip, food in pool bar was nice, only really had toasties and chips for lunches but it seemed busy all the time,we could also use the room at the back for our luggage when we were going home as we had to be out at 12 and werent being picked up til 3pm
I took a travel kettle as i saw from other reviews there was none, had to hire, but i wouldnt have minded boiling water in the pan anyway..there was a microwave and fridge with freezer, only thing we didnt have was a bottle opener but solved that from the lady at bar!
free wifi at pool area.
The beach is very close,if you go out the back gate which you get keys for as the reception closes early, but this wasnt a problem for us.
all in all its been the best holiday in corralejo yet due to the apartment being so good,(and cheap) highly recommend it. Not sure what it would be like in the summer as there is no air con,but defo for a winter holiday, its great.
Could maybe get a wee makeover as its a badly needed painted etc inside aptmnts ,but again, who goes on holiday to look at the walls.lol
