Apartamentos Maxorata Beach
Reviewed November 2, 2013

stayed here in October the weather was very hot . the location was handy for the town and nice and quiet. reception was only 8 to 6 you had to use a side gate to come and go after 6. the rooms were very clean but very dated (desperately in need of refurbishment) we stayed in a 1 bed apartment there was NO air conditioning in any of the rooms which made sleeping uncomfortable. the pool area was kept clean but the sun loungers were uncomfortable. the pool bar was good with snacks throughout the day. but you had to go into the town centre for an evening meal. the main beach was a short bus ride away 1and half euro each way. the town centre was about ten minutes walk with the old town where the restaurants were about 15 minutes walk. lots to see and do. the water park was about 10 minutes from our apartments.
would definitely go back to corralejo .

Room Tip: book a 2 or 3 bed apartment they are more up to date

Maxorata Beach is a small and basic apartment complex.
We experienced this complex as clean, nice and quiet and near the mainstreet of Corralejo.
The pool is small but nice for a hangout if you don's want to go to Flag Beach.
If you look for a central place to stay but like your privacy this is where you should go!

I have stayed in Fuerteventura about ten times and I have to say that overall the Maxorata Beach Apartments were the best I stayed in. These apartments are in a great locations just a couple of minutes walk to the main street and about ten minutes walk into the centre. The apartment was very spacious and was cleaned every other day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the pool bar was delicious and very cheap. Will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 5 days, accommodation was lovely, nice and clean, nice pool, friendly staff. Helpful when we wanted to book any trips or shows. Only thing was the reception opening hours were only from 8am to 5pm most days (and til 8pm on thursdays and sundays) which meant we had to leave ourselves into the complex using the side gates outside of these hours. The pool bar was nice and the food was good. There was a shop but it wasnt open from 1 til 4 during the day.

Decided on a last minute holiday and booked these apartments at a ridiculously cheap price. Was a little apprehensive given the price that there had to be something drastically wrong.... Pleasantly surprised upon arrival and well above my expectation

The complex itself is kept very clean & tidy and well maintained.

The pool and bar area is well kept and nice to sit around with the added benefit of free wifi - bar/food area closes at 8pm

There is an onsite shop that provides all the essentials at a reasonable price - although the opening hours are not the best (from memory it is only open about 3-4 hours a day)

The apartment itself (in keeping with the rest of the complex) was clean and tidy. We had a one bedroom first floor apartment with a partial pool view. The accommodation consisted of 4 separate rooms (Toilet / Kitchen / Sitting Room and Bedroom) and a balcony.

The location of the apartments is excellent - less than 5 mins from the resort centre / 5 mins from a nearly beach / 5 mins from a shopping centre and approximately 25 mins walk from flag beach.

All in all I would recommend the Maxorata and would return in the future.

My 79 year old mother, my sister and myself booked a three bedroomed duplex apartment in the Maxorata Beach complex for the first week of September. We like our own space so therefore we deemed it important that we have a bedroom each so we could all snore in peace! We arrived after a nice flight, on time and in good form. We checked in at reception and were handed our keys. After lugging our cases down a lot of steps (no ramp) we arrived at our apartment. However when we opened the door there was one bedroom and a sofa. We naturally thought there was an upstairs somewhere and even went outside to see if there was an external way up! We decided there must be a mix up so went back to reception to ask. Even though our paperwork stated '3 bedrooms' the man at reception told us that we were only entitled to three beds. He was downright rude and aggressive. We asked to see a manager and he told us it would be Monday before a manager would be available. Eventually he phoned the Director and she obviously told him to check their paperwork as he trawled through a file and, understanding un pocito espanol, i deduced that they had screwed up judging by his conversation with his superior. He told us it would be sorted mañana, if we just stayed where we were that night. We didn't believe him as he didn't seem to be entirely convinced that we were in the right. We phoned a 24 hour helpline that was printed on our Budget Travel paperwork and got through to a representative of Rent a Bed in Dublin, at our own expense on a mobile I may add as our receptionist refused us the use of the phone. The guy in Dublin sounded thoroughly pissed off to be disturbed at 11 pm and was rude. We wondered why we had spent nearly £2000 on this holiday at this stage when we were being treated with such disdain. Eventually the guy in Dublin decided it was actually his job to help us and said he would contact the relevant people and would get back to us.
Long story short, we eventually got the apartment we paid for at 4pm the next day. We had to ask the Director on Monday if there was any compensation for the loss of almost a day of our holiday and next day she sent a bowl of fruit, a piece of cheese and a bottle of wine worth €10 tops. On the penultimate day of our holiday my sister basically told her we would be staying in our apartment until 5pm and not checking out at 12 noon as we were supposed to do. She quickly acquiesced and we felt at least then we got some sort of proper compensation.
Not a nice experience at all. You expect a service when you pay for it and to be treated like we were was an utter disgrace. To have someone on reception that is ill equipped to deal with a situation like this is not acceptable. The person at the end of the helpline should be sympathetic and not sulky at having match of the day interrupted. The reception also closed at 10 am so we had to come and go through a back gate after that. I would not recommend this accommodation as the customer service leaves a lot to he desired. And Budget Travel should check that their customers get first class treatment if they want them to come back.

Myself and partner stayed here two weeks ago. The location is great. It is just off the main stripe so within easy walking distance for everything, including the old town and beaches, but far enough away to not be disturbed by the music etc.
The only problem we encountered here was that our agent had booked us into one of the promo apartments, which do not have a balcony. We spoke to the lovely receptionist Claire the next day and she was happy to move us to another apartment for an additional costs. Both of these apartments were very spacious and equipped with all the things needed for self catering, including washing up liquid! The furniture may look a bit dated but was comfortable, clean, and fine for us as we were hardly in there. There were an adequate amount of sun loungers by the pool, but you will need to be up really early to beat the pool worshippers (secret towel placers!) to them! Having said that Claire did advise us that the life guard would deal with this had we mentioned it to them at the time. The whole vibe on the site was very chilled and laid back. Should you need any assistance or advice on anything to do with the site, area, island or anything Claire was very happy to help you with anything she could. This gave the whole place a very welcoming and homely touch. We hired a car from Alonso cars for 3 days and went all round the island, as there are so many wonderful placed and beaches to discover.
We booked these apartments on the reviews found here on trip advisor, and would agree with them that this is a good place to stay. Thanks again for everything Claire and the rest of the staff. :)
My only advice to anyone is to leave the site from the back entrance if you want to avoid those over friendly 'im not selling/promoting timeshare' guys that lay in wait for you at the top of the road of the main reception. They really are quite ruthless and will not let you walk past without bothering you.

Room Tip: Avoid the promo rooms if you want a balcony or terrace!
