“Friendly family run Cafe/Bar”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

A warm welcome is to be had at Au Caisteal
in Corralejo.

Reasonable priced food & drinks.

The steak pie was excellent but has to be ordered 24 hours in advance as it is freshly made. Also had the home made burgers which were very tasty. Portions were huge so make sure you have an appetite to match!!

Probably the only bar in Corralejo where you can see certain Scottish football matches.

Big thanks to Maureen and Ross, and David and Laura for their great hospitality.

“What's all the fuss about???”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

I have visited Corralejo a number of times, but this is the first time I've been to this cafe/bar.
To be honest, there is nothing really great or really bad, just a standard British sports bar.

I had a burger but it was just an average burger with nothing outstanding - I won't be rushing back here to get another one.

If you come on holiday to watch your favourite Scottish/British sports team on TV and eat Scottish/British food, this place will suit you well. If you have no interest in watching sports, give this place a miss.

Also, the floor around the bar could have done with a bit of a mop - when I went to leave I almost left my flip flop behind.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, we do appreciate all feedback. However, we were sorry to hear you were disappointed with your visit. Our burgers are homemade using 100% beef which is sourced locally. As you will see from our reviews they have been enjoyed by many of our customers. As a frequent visitor to Corralejo you will be aware there are very few if any, Cafe/Bars showing Scottish Football. We therefore, choose to show these games due to demand from customers. We like to think of our place as a friendly family bar, offering a wee taste of Scotland in Corralejo. We don't promote our place as a "British sports bar". Your comment about the floor around the bar needing a mop may mislead other readers of Trip Advisor. We would like to refer you to our feedback that states how clean our place is. We take great pride in our little bar and can assure you the floor is mopped frequently during the day and every morning and evening. You are welcome to visit again when next in Corralejo and perhaps change your opinion. Kind regards Ross and family

“Great Food”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

I was in Corralejo in October with my sister and did a bit of research on restaurants etc before we went so we would know where to try out. This is one place that without reading the good reviews we wouldnt have eaten in, not because it looks bad but because it is just off the main strip and we wouldnt have noticed it.
An Caisteal is a great little place and lives up to the good reviews. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere and a nice selection on the menu. We had an evening meal here and loved the food. The portions are massive though, I was nearly full after my starter, I had the nachos and the chicken fajitas, my sister had bruchetta and Lasagne. We really enjoyed the meal. The only issue we had was that the desserts looked lovely but we had no room for one :(
I will definitely eat here again when I return to Corralejo.
