“Enjoyble apartment complex great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2014

Great location to explore the old part of the town situated right on the harbour also a short walk to the main street where the main bars and night clubs are situated. The apartments are basic but are very clean and nothing was too much trouble. The cleaners work very hard and each corridor staircase was cleaned everyday. The pool was excellent and was warm for January the life guard lady was very nice and friendly please don't be put off by it being enclosed by the apartments as this protects you from the wind the bar was limited on drinks but food was amazing. Lovely little shop for gifts etc. There is a local supermarket two mins away which was good and cheap. We unfortunately booked with Thomas Cook the flights and connection coach was fine and that's where it ended. We met our rep the next day for the introduction meeting which we where given so much info that it was mind blowing but we decided to book a jeep and sand day trip out on the following Saturday and a trip to the neighbouring island land Lanzarote . Our ticket for the sat trip told us to be outside the main doors for 8.55 am we arrived in plenty of time and sat there in the shade for a hour even our rep drove past who sold us the trip and didn't stop which made us speechless (we found this out when we got our refund) The second trip to Lanzarote was also a experience the name of meeting point for us didn't exist we asked locals we asked the people selling trips we even asked another rep on the tour no one had heard of this so called meeting name. On our introduction we got told that the Thomas Cook office was on the corner on the same block as the hotel. So on the hunt for the meeting point we even went to the office which was closed (this we found on a regular basis) so we went into Thompson office next door and the nice lady there didn't know either. Finally a coach turned up and we found a Thomas cook rep we were both upset etc so enquired where this mystery meeting point was to be told that they normally find us How was the question as we the only two from our hotel due that we are so close to the harbour so unless we had a sign above our head flashing or he had amazing powers to detect his missing guests we don't know how this would be achieved. So the rest of the trip was good so to all Thomas cook guests staying at this location for this trip you need to be outside the café on the harbour by the Fred Olsen ferry as this is the service you will be using. I would strongly advise you to organise your own trips they might be cheaper and lot less stress. We organised our own car hire with the leaflet in the hotel (it was 12 euro cheaper a day than Thomas cook) very good price and excellent service we enjoyed Oasis park feeding the elephants and other animals the sea lion show was well worth seeing. Local restaurants are amazing massive portions and most very cheap Amazing Indian restaurant Fazz's on the harbour just round the corner is a lovely little street with restaurants and cocktail bars we would recommend Bougainvile a lovely little bar it was the cheapest we found and open until 2am very artistic the lovely lady owner give out blankets when it gets chilly. All around the harbour we found lovely places to eat but further up the main street the quality goes down hill but so does the price. Up the strip we would strongly recommend Finnigans you will find the bar on Acorazado Espana street, opposite the Corralejo Beach Hotel and its about 200 yards up he road you cannot miss the massive green sign amazing Irish pub with lovely staff and loads of live music and quizzes if you want a laugh this is a place for you. Also the Carlsberg corner will normally have a good rock band on in there most nights. La luna restaurant was good most of the waitresses was excellent the food was very good and you get ten percent off ticket too. Wifi is excellent in the restaurant but we paid for two weeks wifi in the hotel it was expensive and didn't work in the apartment so would recommend to just use La Luna also the safe was expensive to us in the room but is a must to give you cover for your insurance etc. If you like a quiet hotel with local quiet bars then its a good choice but it you want to party we would recommend further up the strip. We are booking again for the end of this year but not through Thomas Cook.

The main reason we chose this complex is that it is literally above the dive centre we wanted to dive with. We were not disappointed. The room was comfortable and clean, with a sitting room with dining area and basic cooking facilities.
The swimming pool is not huge but adequate and anyway why spend too much time in a pool with all that sea around you?!
Our room was poolside so not a great view but again, it's somewhere to sleep!
Friendly and helpful staff. Would stay again.

First appearance of this hotel is dissapointing, and this continues through the basic reception and the basic room. Clean and tidy with all the facilities but no frills. TV had no English channels apart from repetitive BBC World news. Basic en-suite. Small balcony overlooking the central pool which was half in shade all day long.Plastic balcony furniture, basic internal furniture and bed. Only one skinny pillow each, and when we asked for two more at reception, there were none available.Hard rendered painted walls and tiled floors results in a cell-like experience.
Location of the hotel gives easy walking access to the town and harbour with plenty of bars, restaurants and tourist shops. We did see the few rooms which look out to see, and they look more interesting.Towels changed regularly, but again thin and poor quality. Lift to guest room floors. Popular restaurant attached with guest discounts.

Room Tip: Rooms on the reception entrance side get the sun on the balconies. A few rooms have sea views which...

On arrival I thought 'oh dear' but on entering it is a great place. We had a large family room for 4 of us, the only thing that let it down was the bed settee in the one room, it wasn't very comfortable and they could have easily fitted a proper bed in there. We had a lovely sea view with 2 balconies. Pool area doesn't get the sun all the way around so people leaving towels out and then not coming down till lunch time (but I think you get this wherever you go). Restaurant and bar attached to hotel very good. Not sure what it would be like in the summer months as no air con or fans, and with the balcony doors open the sea might be a bit noisy. We found this a ideal location as a nice stroll to the beach and the town. We had a fab stay here and would definitely go back.

we have stayed at Dunas Club twice, once with pool view(204) and once with sea view (207) and both my wife and I fell in love with the hotel & Corralejo ,in fact the whole Island is just so friendly and peaceful.
As people have said first view of Hotel from outside is a bit grim, but once inside it is modern, clean, and has everything required for a great holiday, we only had one complaint and that was about the tv reception/limited English channels in room.
As for the food, we ate Breakfast every day from La Luna on outside terrace fantastic food with great views and excellent value, we had a few evening meals again lovely food and good portions, on one occasion we got back late and kitchen/restraurant were just closing but they made us a huge Club sandwich and a basket of chips to take to our room.
The rooms are lovely with plenty storage space and well equipped toilet you may have to ask for extra pillows as the ones we had were quite thin.
the staff were always very helpful and cheery and nothing was a problem for them.
We like the place so much we are going back for our third stay in June/July.
If you are a couple looking for a peaceful relaxing break with everything a few minutes stroll away then give The Dunas Club a try they must bo doing something right as some people we met had stayed there about 8 or 10 times.

Room Tip: pool view rooms on reception side of Hotel get most sun also try for 2nd floor rooms with sea views,
