“Pack your Mosquito Repellent .. Pull Out The Sofa Bed ..and Enjoy.... .”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

We spent a week at Playa Park earlier this month and had a brilliant time !

I want to address some of the comments posted .

Firstly this was our forth trip to Fuertuventura and the apartments & complex were by far the nicest we have stayed in .

Check in was very fast and easy .

Our upper floor apartment in block 200 was clean & spacious with two balcony's , pool view and afternoon sun .

ROOMS ..The beds are quite firm , but the Sofa bed was bliss well worth giving it a try . Lovely bathrooms with great showers & hair dryers .

The Kitchenette was small but well equipped with fridge/microwave/kettle /toaster .

We paid for Wi Fi and found the connection could be a little temperamental but on the whole worth the money if you want an internet connection in your room , although it is a free on in rece

FOOD ,. the food was better than average and there were several themed nights, but as said it can be on the cool side , however there is a microwave just past the salad bar , although not available at breakfast time .

Beer, wine , soft drinks , tea and coffee were all self serve .

THE BAR The drinks were on whole very good with a wide selection of beer , spirits, cocktails , soft drinks , tea & coffee

. My only complaint would that SAMBA the barman was often the only member of staff to serve before 10pm resulting in queues and he can be very selective as to whom he serves.. :This was also noticed by several other guests .

THE MOSQUITOES . Tend to bite at dawn & dusk . The best way to deal with them is to spray your room ( check under the sink for the spray if not ask the staff for some ) burn citronella candles ( available at the supermarket . Turn right out of the hotel then left at the roundabout )

We found applying Tea Tree oil very effective for prevention ..

OVERVIEW . Play Park is a great place to stay and will return .. **

We stayed here the second week of May and overall our experience was very good. Our apartment was bright airy and had 3 balconies so we had sun all day which after coming from Ireland made my holiday so a huge thank you to reception :) ..we were all inclusive and the food choices were very good and we could always find something to eat breakfast was especially nice and had a lot of choice, lunch compared to other all inclusive hotels was excellent and the themed dinner nights were lovely although the other nights were slightly hit and miss but you could still always find something to eat.
Our apartment was cleaned 6 days out of 7 and the complex itself was spotless, no matter what time you went to the communal bathrooms they were always clean even after a day of people in and out from the pool area.
The only complaint I have about this hotel would be one of the bar staff Samba other reviews here disagree with me so maybe I'm wrong but I ordered a drink one night and as I was ordering he walked away from me and arrived back with 2 whiskey cokes I told him I had ordered 2 vodka tonics but said it didn't matter whereupon he threw the greatest tantrum I've seen....slamming ice into 2 new glasses muttering under his breath and grabbing the vodka and basically throwing the drinks in front of me from then on any time I went to the bar I was ignored until I was nearly the last person standing, grunted at and basically made to feel so uncomfortable I started getting my boyfriend to go up instead of me when he was on. I even helped him a couple of times bringing drinks to other people to try to get some type of pleasantness when I wanted a drink but to no avail so just be warned make sure you scream your drink order at him just in case he gets it wrong!!!
Other than that though everything else was lovely and all the rest of the staff more than made up for his unpleasant attitude to me although the entertainment is so bad it's funny so if you're coming here for the nightly shows don't :)

Room Tip: Room 432 has 3 balconies and is only 2 minutes from bar and pool area

my wife and i stayed here end of april for a week all inc . cannot fault the hotel in any way . room was large and spacious with two large balconys that got the sun most of the day ( room 227 ) everything you needed was provided within the room. constant hot water and a very good shower within the bathroom. had 3 minor problems with kettle , safe and electrics over the week , and i must say once the reception staff were informed of these problems they were rectified within minutes ( superb service there i feel ) loved the pools, one which was heated.now onto the staff and food - firstly i must say that each and every member of staff we talked to or dealt with were totally professional and a credit to the hotel.they always had time to chat and a constant smile on their faces ( top marks there ) as for the food on all inc , well again top marks here , plenty of variety each day , of a high standard and very well presented.the restaurant manager and his staff really did put in a shift each day , they worked so hard fair play to them ( YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE ) .so all in all i would rate our holiday 5 star . loved it at the playa park club and we will certainly be returning in the future .

Room Tip: we had upper floor block 2 - room 227 , 2 large balconys that got the sun most of the day

Given the No.4 rating I had high hopes for our second trip to Corralejo, however the rating in our view didn't reflect the resort. Our one bedroom apartment on the ground floor was near the main pool, which we were grateful for as my Wife had recently had knee surgery and although the apartment was reasonably spacious it was very dated in relation to furniture and fittings. There was a TV in the room, that couldn't be used unless you 'hired' a remote, which gave you 4 channels, if you wanted more channels there was a further charge. WiFi is free in the reception, for the pool areas there is a 15 Euro's charge for a week which is OK. If you haven't got towels you can hire one for 1 euro, with a 10 euro deposit.
The pool area and garden's are OK, but the pool surrounds need a hosing down and also we never saw the pools being cleaned during our stay. The sunbeds are plenty, but a lot of them are broken and don't seem to get cleaned as there are bird droppings on quite a few.
We booked all inclusive for a change and we regretted it pretty much from the first couple of days. Breakfast was by far the best, but lunch and dinner was often the same things, I.e., chips, pizza, burgers, etc. Catering in bulk is not easy, but a little more variety and quality would improve things.
The worst thing for us was the lack of cleaning in the apartment, the cleaner was literally in and out in a flash, beds never got changed and I had to go and get fresh towels from reception.
We hired a car for a few days and the trips to different parts of the island were very nice, especially Benecuria.

got back a couple of hours ago, two weeks of being looked after. Spotless place , great staff. loved every minute. Samba & Gigot(not sure if spelling ok) in bar were my favourites. Restaurant staff were so friendly as well and even the pickiest person would be able to find something to their taste. Breakfast choice especially was amazing, be prepared to put weight on!!Shaggy always did his best on the entertainment side, no harm to the hotel but some of the shows were terrible but could still have good fun. We enjoyed ourselves that much we may go back for Christmas & New Year. It was our first time on Fuerteventura but wont be our last

Room Tip: we had ground floor just left of pool, not noisy at all of an evening.it was all inclusive but we st...

We have just returned home from the Playa Park Club having 2 weeks all inclusive. the food was excellent, staff cannot do enough for you,we stayed in room 305 which I can recommend as it has views right up the pool area.and you can walk staight out to the pool.the grounds are kept really nice, they never stop cleaning both inside and out.the location is also good as you are central, walk left to the town or right to sand dunes.like other reviews air con would be a bonus.daytime entertainment really good, kids seem to love it.if you want to play the bingo at night it is really funny on some night with Shaggy.anyone that does not enjoy this hotel needs to go 5star and pay the price that comes with it.

Room Tip: most rooms are located round the pool area.

Overall great hotel and well kept. Rooms and all areas always kept clean. Staff friendly, especially Shaggy in entertainment, bar staff and reception always aimed to please. Food was repetative, chicken often undercooked. Best meal by far was breakfast. Would benefit if had air conditioning - You can hire a fan from reception, but this doesn't really help. Would go back again if price was right, but overall you get what you pay for - if you want 4/5* standard then pay for it!
