Just back from a weeks stay at the Bahia Real hotel. Had a lovely room, (double de luxe) very spacious, excellent wardrobes, and good beds, facing out over small garden area, a bit of sun late in the day. Superb courtyard area with pools, out of the wind, within the hotel, great day beds, but one can sun bathe on the beach there are wind breaks there. The hotel buffet dining room was really great, a different culture each day, cannot fault the food, there is everything one can desire and more!
The hotel is at the edge of town, a good 15 minute walk into Correlego with some good shops (Zara, Mango etc) and the usual holiday shops, restaurants cafes etc. Some of the better food on the waterfront, check out the smaller oowner managed restaurants. None near the hotel, except for the very good Peruvian restaurant in the local shopping centre, or the small cafe nearby.

Dear guest,

thank you very much for your recent visit to our hotel and for your positive review.
Our rooms are indeed very spacious and fitted with all kind of comodities you would expect from a 5 star deluxe hotel, we are glad you appreciated this.
You also highlighted some of our installations such as the sheltered pool area and our wind breaks by the beach, these are particulary convenient considered Fuerteventura exceptionally sunny but also windy climate.
How wonderful that you were impressed with our gastronomic offer, our chef prepary delicious dishes with attention to detail and always keeping in mind the preferences of our guest from every corner of the world.

It has been a pleasure for all of us to host you. We look forward to welcome you back anytime and remain at your disposition for any assistance you may require in the future.

With best regards,

As, you approach this hotel, it feels like a war zone, half built structures, graffiti-ridden and derelict. They have been in this state for at least six months (since our last visit). Once you recover from this shock, the hotel seems like an oasis of calm and beauty. The reception area is very grand in a bohemian/artistic way, giving a lovely, tranquil entrance. Staff are outstanding, particularly Laura on reception. She went out of her way to make our stay feel really special. Food in the main restaurant was a good standard and there is a reasonable choice, although it helps if you like seafood. Our room was comfortable and clean and serviced regularly. Our terrace overlooked the ocean.
The bar/lounge/terrace area is a good place to relax although we were both aware that staffing seems reduced since our previous visit and staff work hard to attend to all guests.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel although exploring the local area is limited and the main town was a bit tacky. This said, we managed to find two amazing restaurants, Avenida in the old town and Mi Casa on the seafront.

Dear Laura A.,

thank you very much for your return visit to the island and for choosing our hotel despite your first impression not being what you were expecting.
We like to point out that whilst it is certainly true that the building opposite the hotel is not pleasant to look at, it does not resemble the general appeareance of the area itself, a quiet residential part of town with many beautiful villas and upscale properties.
It is a pleasure to find out that you appreciated the peaceful setting of our hotel and the beautiful decoration of our lobby.
All of our staff work hard in order to ensure that our guests are well looked after, our staff-guest ratio is always balanced and in line with our fine quality standarts. We do have a continuos rotation of staff depending on our daily occupancy, if you missed someone in particular since your last visit they might have been off duty at the time.
We will certainly pass on your praise to Laura from our reception team, she will be thrilled to hear you remember her.
Our buffet is themed and we have a fish& seafood night, as well as spanish, tex-mex, italian and many more. At our show cooking you will find a daily selection of fine meat cuts, furthermore many of our dishes are vegetarian; in any case if you do not fancy seafood or fish we can provide alternative choices.

We hope you will find the chance to visit again, and please do not hesitate to communicate your preferences and neccesities so that we can provide a perfectly tailormade experience during your next stay.

Friendly regards,

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It’s quite a large hotel on the outskirts of Corriego with good facilities, the pool area is well laid out with the most luxurious sun beds I’ve ever used!
The hotel room that we had was large and well decorated with a REALLY comfortable bed. There were lots of nice little touches, like a turn down service, chocolates and little notes left on our bed at night which I thought was was nice.
The food in the restaurant was well presented, plentiful and varied we also found that the staff were really friendly.
We used the free spa every day which had lots of water jets, sauna and a steam room. I also had a massage and facial that I would highly recommend.
I do think that the outside photos of the hotel are a bit misleading as it makes it appear as if it’s set on a lovely sandy beach, but in fact it’s quite rocky. However there are a few nice beaches if you walk in either direction out of the back of the hotel.

Dear customer,

thank you very much for selecting our Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real as your holiday resort of preference for your stay on Fuerteventura.
We are pleased to hear that you had an enjoyable holiday and we appreciate you took a moment of your valuable time to share your positive comments with the online community of travelers.
You have highlighted our tailormade friendly customer service, we are indeed proud of the efforts of our staff and will share your feedback with them.
On the other hand you have mentioned our in room features and spa facilites, the hotel has every sort of facility to enable guest to unwind in a peaceful and secluded setting without compromising in luxury.
As for the beach, the appearance changes depending on low or high tide (pictures were taken at high tide), the rocks are characteristic due to the volcanic origin of the island. The neighbouring beaches of the Nature Park of the Dunes of Corralejo are an exception, and are very unique in their appearance, with hardly any rocks.

We look forward to your return visit!

A lovely, hotel. We have been very fortunate to have stayed at a few 5 star hotels. This hotel wasn’t the best however still nice. The best feature of the hotel is the spa, and the pool area. The facilities at the spa, are brilliant. The pool area is so quiet and the sun beds are luxurious. Lovely, thick big towels are available constantly. There are a few things however that really can be improved by, which my husband and I felt would have made our 10days even more lovely and special. The main thing we missed was smiling faces from the majority of the staff. There is one lady(sorry didn’t get her name) who made the eggs in the mornings. So lovely, cheerful and always a warm, good morning. She was the only chef all the holiday that we saw smile? The waiting staff gave the feeling that they were there to work. Yes, they did such a good job, yet a smile goes such a long way, and creates a lovely atmosphere which we felt was definitely missing in the restaurant. We never had a hot meal unless you had it cooked fresh from the show areas. This was such a shame as the food and selection of food was great, but the vegetables was always Luke warm to cold. Must say the gentleman on the beach, serving drinks was friendly, and that was so refreshing. He was a gem to us, and with other people on the beach beds too. The ladies that kept the bedrooms so clean, was also so lovely and friendly, also worked so hard and quickly. I must also say that the brochure could be a bit misleading as it looks on paper as you can walk straight from beach into the sea. You can’t. There is rocks that isn’t shown, which at first is disappointing if you like to swim in the sea, or the children wants to paddle. There is a few nice beaches about 10-15minuits walk, which is fine. It’s just not a reflection of the brochure. The pool jucuzzi wasn’t in use the whole 10 days we were there, yet the brochure advertises this. Lastly, when we left, it would have been nice for at least one of the four staff on reception to wish us a safe journey, or maybe even just goodbye. All we got after settling our bill, was what time will you be vacating our room? I really don’t want to moan, as we had a wonderful holiday, as we always do, however these points are the reason for scouring 4 instead of 5.

Dear Mrs Joan P.,

Thank you for taking the time to write such a complimentary review about your recent stay with us at the Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real.
Since we strive to maintain and continuously improve our high standards, all constructive feedback and suggestions of our customers are welcome and highly valued.
It is a pleasure for us to learn that you particulary enjoyed our spa facilities as well as the relaxed atmosphere around the pool area.
In reference to our staff, we will pass on the special mention of our cook Isabel at the egg show cooking station and our waiter Andres at the beach bar. They will be thrilled about it for sure.
Whilst we try to provide a swift and effective service avoiding delays in serving or clearing tables, we certainly agree that smiling and being friendly is essential to our service.
In fact our staff usually receive a lot of praise for being genuinely interested in the wellbeing of our guests and going out of their way to please them, this is highlighted in many reviews.
In any case we will continue to supervise our service closely, as you have correctly pointed out there is always room for improvement and we aim to go the extra mile.
As for the beach we like to clarify that all beaches in Spain are of public domain and under direct responsibility of the coastal department for any maintenance issues (being a volcanic island beaches are indeed rocky, but sand is regulary replenished).
All pictures on our websites and printed material reflect the beaches mostly at high tide when the rocks are submerged underwater.
In reference to the "pool Jacuzzi" we assume there is a misunderstandig. The only Jacuzzi that has been operative during the past years is the one in the only adult solarium on top of the spa, which is not part of the pool. If the brochures states something different please urge your agency to update the information or contact the hotel a.s.a.p to review the hotel description.
At peak times or reception is very busy, specially around 12 am when everyone is checking out at the same time, which makes it difficult to engage in a relaxed conversation with all customers.
However our guidelines to our staff are clear and include a proper farewell to each guest; if these guidelines were not followed it is good to let us know so that we can take corrective measures.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenicences or discomfort you experienced.

We sincerely hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon and send our best regards,

A big hotel with good facilities, excellent food and friendly staff. Not impressed by the local town or the island itself but the hotel is great for a relaxing family holiday. The kids love it and we are going again in 2019.

Dear Mr. Edward E.,

thank you very much for choosing our hotel for your family getaway in 2018.
Corralejo quaint old town is very charming, the new part of town is currently undergoing a facelift, the pavement on the pedestrian roads has been replaced and some buildings are being restored, so we hope you will like these positive changes. Fuerteventura on the other hand has been voted as one of the best beach destinations, it has a very extensive coastline with kilometre long sandy beaches and turquoise water, ideal for those looking for a relaxed vacation.
We are thrilled to find your positive comment here and we look forward to see you again soon.

Kindest regards,
