I have both stayed at the Bahia and been a member of their leisure club during the winter for five years. Having stayed at some of the best hotels in the world (hope that doesnt sound to over the top) this hotel is up there amongst them. The ambience has developed with time to make you always feel special and experiencing something unique. Every part of the experience, from the state of the art Gym and fantastic spa complex, to the pools, lounge, rooms, meals and staff is truly exceptional. Treat yourselves, give it a try, you will not be dispointed.

Room Tip: The view from any of the "Sea View" rooms is brilliant, Lobos and beyond.

A beautiful, elegant hotel with excellent staff and facilities. This hotel is absolutely luxurious and in my opinion the only place to stay in Fuerteventura. Food is of the highest quality and an there is an excellent cocktail list too! An exceptional place to spend your holiday.

We stayed here last week for 7 nights and wow what a great stay. We were in a mini suite with sea view located on the ground floor. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was fantastic, British sausage and bacon a first for me abroad, usually it's the crap bacon, you know what I mean!
We used the Spa nearly everyday and it was almost empty all the time, might just have been a quite time of year for the hotel but was great for us, the spa to ourselves.

Would highly recommend this hotel and we will defiantly be back.

I booked this hotel for 4 people as a surprise for my husbands 60th birthday and we were not disappointed. From being met at the taxi by David and walking into the reception and being greeted with a glass of champagne it had the wow factor.
We had spacious sea view rooms with lovely decor. A bottle of champagne was waiting for us which was a lovely gesture from the hotel. A turndown service and pillow menu, bathrobes and slippers all added to the comfort. While I like a TV in the room and think more English channels would be okay for some, I like to go on holiday to get away from it all. I had taken some CD's so was quite happy to listen to music.
We used the buffet restaurant most of the time where we always found an excellent choice, and went into Las Columnas to celebrate hubbys birthday. Another bottle of bubbly was waiting for us with a cake at the end of the meal.
All the staff, whatever job they were doing, were the happiest I have ever seen - always smiling. They were extremely helpful and friendly and I would like to be able to say a big thankyou to all.
We used the spa a couple of times and found this to be very relaxing.
The pool area was very pleasant and it would have been nice to have sat round there more often but we had quite a lot of cloud which made it cool sitting out in swimwear.
All in all this was one of the best hotels we have been in. I am very pleased that I picked this one out - we were certainly made to feel special.

We booked this last minute and picked it due to it's reviews online. We were not disappointed, the hotel is lovely, impressive lobby, good service, beautiful pool area and spacious rooms with great fixtures and fittings. Touches like the slippers, bathrobes and turn down service were greatly appreciated. We also liked that one of the outdoor pools is heated in the winter and the additional sun terrace above the spa area. The free Wifi everywhere (including by the pool) and free underground parking was greatly appreciated.

We had a really lovely time but did feel the surrounding area was a let down, directly outside the hotel is residential and an unfinished hotel (which you can't see from inside the hotel) and it's about a 30min walk into Corralejo. We found the town was rather tacky and after one night eating out there we ate at the hotel the rest of the time. However wander on the beach for 10 minutes in the other direction and you reach a truly beautiful beach on the dunes, well worth the effort.

Finding negative points is tricky but there were a few improvements the hotel could make.
--Firstly to improve the Mediterranean buffet night because it wasn't up to the same high standard as the other nights we ate in the buffet. The breakfast however was always delicious and very varied.
--We felt the English TV channels needed to be more varied, there were only news or one (quite amusingl!) fashion channel, we would have greatly appreciated more variation in terms of films, dramas, sports etc (which were offered in other languages).
-- The hotel alcohol prices are very high, the charge of 25 Euros for a bottle of Spanish wine that we saw on sale for 4 Euros in the local supermarket was a bit much. Especially when you compare the wine list to the equally beautiful 5 star Hotel Wellington in Madrid which offers a decent bottle of house Spanish wine in their rooftop bar for 8 Euros, Surely they should be trying to promote Spanish wines and therefore selling them at reasonable prices?
--Lastly their bottled water was equally pricey, if they were to sell larger bottles at cheaper prices people would be far more likely to buy them from the hotel than local supermarkets.

However please don't let that put you off, it was a really lovely holiday and if we wanted another relaxing holiday in a beautiful hotel we would definitely consider it.

NB: For anyone going through a British holiday company the hotel itself charges 36 euros per person per night when you book 5 or more nights of the evening buffet, this was about £60 cheaper per person than the price we were offered by our holiday company. It may therefore be worth considering upgrading to half board when you get there.

Room Tip: Even the standard rooms are lovely, very spacious, lovely twin sink bathroom, king size bed, great b...

Four years ago we stayed and felt as if we had a second honeymoon, and this year recovering from a broken leg we had feared it could not have stayed magic, but it is still absolutely devine.

Listening to the waves is so calming and the hotel did its best with the friendly way to help us with any of our whishes- special duvets-picking the right fish for lunch and preparing it to our whishes- dinner bookings- quiet room- help in the gym... we are still impressed with the little cleaning army moving quietly in the morning polishing and picking the buds of the flowering gardens. The breakfast is anything one can imagine, sadly one can not eat as much as on offer.

Room Tip: Seaview is a must to get the best out of your stay. There is a building site close by, but it is sin...

Overall we enjoyed our stay - a belated honeymoon - at this hotel. Elements of our stay were exceptional (service from the Spanish speaking staff) and others poor (massage, food in the restaurants with the exception of room service and the Palmeras beach/pool bar).

Pick your room carefully. All the south facing (sunny) rooms face over the kiddie pool. Bit of a shame if you're childless couple after some winter sun. The rest face North or North East. North rooms get no sun at all on the balcony in the winter...chilly. North east rooms get limited sun until aroun 10:30. Top floor suites worth the extra dosh.

Only Spanish and Island wine was offered on the same wine list which appeared in every restaurant (with the exception of champagne). Some of the more expensive wine was not available when requested in Cupola de Carles Gaig. Ironically, a bottle of very good French wine was used as part of the decoration - along with a decanter - in the buffet area during dinner...and yet this wine was not available for sale, neither were we offered a decanter for our wine in the Cupola restaurant. Another comment to note about this restaurant was that while we were dining, the staff were setting up many tables for dinner the following evening, making lots of noise with glasses, cutlery and banging plates...while ignoring the fact that our own glasses were empty! This was surprising considering the restaurant/chef is supposed to be michelin starred. We did not visit again. Due to our business we dine regularly at exclusive restaurants as we are suppliers – we have to be honest and say that the food here did not appear to be of Michelin star quality and would agree with many of the other reviews.

Breakfast buffet was simply splendid. Everything you could wish for with healthy options too. Cordoniu Blanc de Blancs in-house cava rather good...surprised to see it on tap at breakfast and many of the guests were making the most of this! Forget the evening buffet. It's not worth the money.

Indoor Spa pool area a bit bland and unwelcoming - a contrast to the warm and delightful reception area. Some plants would make a huge difference to the ambiance.

Las Palmeras beach/pool bar and restaurant is fantastic with superb service and quality of food. It is a major shame that this restaurant is not open in the evening as it would be wonderful to dine looking out over the water to the lights of Lanzarote across the beach. The fresh fish served here is superb. Yes, the same fish can be ordered from the buffet, but this is simply not the same experience as being served at one's table. The Palmera manager has to be singled out for his excellent customer service. We had been deep sea fishing and had success during our trip, bringing 3 fish back to the hotel which he arranged to have prepared and cooked for us. This was the highlight of our trip.

Staff. Overall level of service - particularly from the Spanish and Canarian staff + the german staff - was faultless and to be highly praised. We only had truly bad service from the members of staff who were of Eastern European nationality. The women were rude and short-tempered - a real contrast to the open, generous nature of the Spanish-speaking staff.

In the in-room brochure there was mention of pay TV movies in the English section. With the TV (great size!) only showing news channels in English we were rather disappointed. Having been looking forward to watching some movies it was odd that a 5 star hotel should not have a payTV system – we were informed that the service has now ceased and there are no plans to resume. Perhaps mention of this should be removed from the in-room information? Luckily we had brought with us some DVDs to watch and the reception staff loaned us a DVD player. Other British clients might be very disappointed.

Toiletries: The shampoo and conditioner are not representative of a 5 star hotel. BUT, on the plus side, bathrooms were truly luxurious. Water pressure was great.

During the course of one evening we had 4 disasters! First of all one of the legs broke on the bed, then we had ordered room service and when this arrived, as the door opened the wind caught the curtain and knocked everything off the desk including a bottle of very good wine! The cleaning team arrived promptly to clear up the mess and fix the bed, then a light fell out of the ceiling and a socket came off the wall – all in the same evening! The staff were really good about everything and sorted all the issues out without any fuss and in a timely manner.

Outdoor pool area was beautiful maintained and very relaxing. It was good to be able to recycle our magazines and books at the towel booth. Great idea. The gardens and window boxes are beautifully done and maintained.

Laundry service was reasonably priced, done beautifully and all delivered with a smile.

Room Tip: See comments above re: South facing rooms all look over kiddie pool, rest are North and North East f...
