Wow!, like so many readers and users of this site i thought i would leave my review about this place, only just got back yesterday in fact (Weds 14th November )so up late writing this before i forget the details:Ok:
GOOD POINTS: Let nobody convince you the location is bad, it's a TEN minute walk down the main strip to all the bars and restuarants, you can either turn right out of the hotel complex then right again past the tacky shop on the corner and you're on the main drag OR take an immediate right down the little rd past the hotel's tennis cts then a left onto the st which is the short cut. If you walk down a bit more and take any of the rights after the DINAS garage they will lead you to one of the beaches.... which are mostly sandy or rocky, depending on how far you are prepared to go ( we walked over 50 miles in 11 days inc a walk twice past the RIU hotels to the dunes! ).
The pools are amazing, saltwater stings your eyes a bit and note that the pool nearest the 'Golden Goose' pub is the warmer of the two. I have to say in the eleven days we were there it was so quiet, there were hundreds of sunbeds empty every day and the pools were mainly left alone some days!.Apartments?, ok,, yes, bit dated but clean, maid service every day except fri and sun so be warned if you get there weekends. I managed to cook some great meals using the two hot plates and microwave, you do need to be over six ft to reach this tho as they are fixed very high up the wall for some reason... ample cups, plates and glasses but couldve done with a sharp knife as you get the bog standard cutlery and a couple of spatulas etc, and a corkscrew hooray!!!! ( much used! ). Obviously went S/C as there are so many places to eat you must be mad to do anything but, the food and drink in correlejo is dirt cheap, ( please look out for my many reviews coming up on the bars and restaurants but i will say that 'La Tasca' on the left hand side of the strip after Las Palmieras shopping centre is the best steak house in the world, Argentinian beef, grilled over a charcoal spit as you watch, and the friendliest service anywhere.
The gardens i read by some are rubbish??, they are full of gorgeous plants from all over inc bird of paradise and giant cactus etc, do people want roses on a wind-swept island? We had apt A204, pool side and perfect.everything you want for a very cheap and extremely good value holiday.TIP Please hire a safe, as long as you do you will be fine, no thefts reported anywhere, the safe is now cheaper at $15 Euros a week plus 10 deposit which you get back, the windows are a bit fiddly to lock but no rocket science as is the door but turn the key twice and just dont leave stuff on show. There is a pub on site now re-named the golden goose, the crew from Thomas Cook run the entertainment and they seem to keep the kids happy, we weren't expecting kids in Nov but they didn't bother us. What else?, yep, rooms are hot as hell, we had a complimentary big fan in the room, keep it on, although noisy they will save your life. All the A block apts are around the pool, if you don't ask they will shove you at the back of the gardens out of site.I would reccommend this place to anyone, families and couples.
BAD points: Ok so these are unavoidable and open to personal preferances BUT: the weather for the first 3 days was horrible, rained heavy but glad we didn't go the end of Oct as the rain actually flooded the appts and the shops on the main street!, it cleared up by Weds so we had a fab week of sun, although its been very cloudy there recently you will still get a tan. The plugs are fitted sideways so if you are using adapters these will fall out of the walls!. The people from Thomas Cook walk around the pool everyday trying to get you to play bingo and quizzes, not for us but it got a bit annoying having the listen to two girls and one extremely camp bloke try to whip up the poolside bathers every afternoon!, if you want some peace don't sit by the pool bar!. All in all great for couples, singles and familes with small kids, book it you won't be sorry!

Room Tip: Ask for an A-block poolside room when you book! The cheapest supermarket is turn left out of the complex and a ten minute walk down the hill EL CAMPANARIO - Buy the 5-litre water bottles, they are less than 1 Euro!

This was my first visit to Corralejo and I was not disappointed. We were a party of 4 adults and 1 child. We were on a self catering package. The restaurants on and off the complex were more than ample. The resort was lovely but the visit to the Dunes beach a five minute taxi drive away was breathtaking. The apartments were clean and tidy but in need of a little TLC everything looking a bit tired, that was my only complaint. The pools were lovely and the pool bar served a lovely lunch. There is nothing bad I could say about this complex but I have to say the highlight of the holiday for us was the Entertainment team, well done to all of them. They were helpful, friendly and loads of fun. Thanks to Michelle, Gavin, Jen and Lauren you all made our holiday something to remember.

Wasn't too bad. Was located close to town centre and some nice restaurants although staff at restaurants and shops in the town can be very pushy. Beach is about 2 miles away and you have to get taxi. Three days would be enough for me in that place

Had read several reviews before going so was expecting the worse. Yes the rooms do need up-dating but its only 3star & not a costly holiday so in that respect, value for money. The pools were clean & well maintained as were the surroundings. The staff are friendly & courteous although the staff at reception are a little frosty. There is a pool bar serving snacks, a pub, restaurant, pizzeria & supermarket. All good & good value. The entertainment team were brilliant. We normally don't partake but enjoyed the morning quiz, afternoon tea & sangria. There was footballl & water polo, daily & it appeared & much more for children. We are aged 59 & 66 so not our thing but enjoyable watching others. We found one cockroach making its way across our patio but none in the rooms. The only niggle for us was the cleaning of the apartment itself & our bed linen was to be desired. For us it was a really lovely holiday as the atmosphere is so friendly without being in your face & the weather was warm & sunny. The location is excellent as it really is only a 2minute walk into town & I felt quite safe walking in on my own. The beach is also nearby as are the Dunes. We went to the local market on the Friday which was also just a short walk away. The water park is literally across the road. I would also add that I managed to cook twice on the hob - it was just like camping. It was good fun as was the whole holiday & yes I would go again I was so relaxed due to the friendly atmosphere of the whole complex.

Room Tip: None as the rooms do need up-dating

I had read all the bad reviews before booking but as I had visited the Oasis Dunas 5 years ago I thought 'how much can it have changed?' ALOT!

Last time - Room clean, fixtures worked, nice balcony and view.
This time - Our room was behind the pub area which meant we had to walk past two large bins to get in and out of our room. The light outside the room didnt work, so at night this was a task in itself. The door stuck and needed to literally be kicked open. Bottom of fridge door not only rusty but eroded away. Not enough sockets for kitchen equipment and the socket that was there was hanging off the wall. Sink drain stank. Hair all over the bedroom floor and both bedside lamps didn't work (infact the bulb had burnt a hole through one of them!).

Last time - Pool clean and no noticeable problems with sunbeds.
This time - Pool full of leaves, rubbish and other bits! And although there were loads of sunbeds the struggle was to find one without a hole or something wrong with it.

The only saving grace this time was the entertainments team, I don't normally go in for cabaret and shows etc, but with having such a horrible base for our holiday the entertainments team were really entertaining and travelling with a young child it was nice to have something to come back to in the evening.

If you are travelling with children and are planning to use the kids club (we weren't on this occasion) its worth noting there has been an outbreak of head lice at the hotel - and whilst this isnt the fault of the hotel or tour operators I only heard about this via a very small note in the corner of one of the tour operator boards.

For those saying 'you get what you pay for' in this climate nothing comes cheap and there is no excuse for uncleanliness and disrepair...unless of course, the hotel has no finances to fund improvements, in which case the hotel should not be advertised as 3*
