Had a fantastic holiday with a good girlfriend. The staff were excellent, the food reasonable, there was always something you could enjoy. We had a good room with good maid service. The entertainment was not to my taste so we just escaped in the evening down town which was only a 25minute walk away. One improvement would be opening the club house instead of the pool bar if it is raining.Luckily it only rained twice through our 10 day stay. The club house closed 11pm which i felt was a little early.Overall i would happily stay there again and am sure i will do.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have more chance of sunshine on balcony

Just returned yesterday from a week at this hotel staying with my daughter. Would agree with most reviewers that the staff are welcoming , friendly and hard working , especially Luca in the restaurant who was always smiling and very efficient. Rooms were large but a little dated with poor shower control in the bathroom. We asked for a quiet room and got it which ensured a good nights sleep.Food at the buffet was good at breakfast and dinner [we only stayed half board unlike most people who were all inc ] but it was only warm on occasions.Pool area is great with plenty of sunloungers and shaded areas if you want it.
My only slight complaint was the cleaning of our room on a couple of days was poor or nonexistent , but we were at the end of the corridor and the hotel was full so perhaps they ran out of time - no excuse though .
We enjoyed our stay and yes it is quite a walk into town but we enjoyed Friday night there which was the start of carnival week with a parade through the main street . It cost 4.20 euros for taxi back so quite cheap . A hotel to relax in .

I’ve just returned from an enjoyable and relaxing week with Mum at the Hotel Arena. It is a lovely, laid-back hotel and is relatively small, meaning that it lends itself to a personal touch for guests. The hotel is located in a quiet area of Corralejo, about twenty minutes walk from the centre/harbour, or about 5 euro in a taxi, so whilst it may not be central enough for some, it is very peaceful.

Our room was generously sized, with large twin beds, a lounge area (with sofa-bed), good-sized bathroom and a large balcony. The hotel is well laid-out, with all rooms facing in onto the pool area but the pool suites (4xx) and rooms x01-x12 all have the best outlook, with southerly-facing terraces or balconies. If you can get a pool suite I would recommend it as they are literally next to the pool and have a separate bedroom and living room.

The pool area itself is lovely with plenty of sun beds for everyone, as well as two open-sided “huts” with large mattresses and space for three or four people if you get there early enough! There is a small children’s pool and two larger pools, one of which is heated, as well as small Jacuzzi. For those staying all-inclusive there is a pool bar as well for drinks and snacks throughout the day. The pools and the pool area were kept spotless.

We were staying half board and the food was good – far better than I have experienced at other hotels in the Canary Islands. The restaurant area was very pleasant and all meals are buffet-style, with plenty of choice and some dishes being cooked freshly in front of you by the chef. There were some themed food nights, including Spanish night, Mexican night and International night.

Without a doubt, the staff are the hotel’s biggest asset and they were all very welcoming, helpful and geared to making sure you enjoyed your holiday – their mindset was to make sure you could relax and have a good time. I have to single out Luca however, who works the lunch/dinner shift in the restaurant, as he was friendly, helpful and attentive and gave excellent service – delivering beer to my table without my even needing to ask!

Our only quibble about the hotel was that, because our room was located at the end of the corridor, there were a couple of days when the cleaning was done very late (after 3:30pm). This meant that on one day it didn’t get done at all as we had come back to get ready to go out for the evening before the cleaner had been. On a couple of other days the cleaning wasn’t brilliant either.

Overall the hotel is maintained to a high standard and whilst I would say it’s not four star, it is the upper end of three star hotels. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: Pool suites have a southerly-facing terrace opening right onto the pool area. Rooms x01-x12 have...

Stayed here for ten nights ,all inclusive, end of feb to early march 2013. My girlfriend and I read many reviews on the hotel before going, and we weren't at all disappointed like it appears some people have been. Hotel is a 3* not a 4*, but in fairness you're not paying 4* prices so no need to moan about that. The hotel staff are absolutely brilliant and Alvaro the bar man is one of the nicest and friendliest people you will ever meet. The food is a little repetitive at times but it's freshly cooked and to be honest, I've eaten far worse in supposedly better hotels. Mexican night was the best in my opinion. Plenty of lovely seafood restaurants in town though if you fancy a change of scenery and very reasonably priced, takes a good 20 minutes to walk there. Hotel was clean, the rooms were spotless and the maids cleaned and changed bedding and towels daily. Although not a double bed, the two twin beds pushed together wasn't really a problem for us. The only thing I didn't like was the pools not being heated but to be fair, once you've braved the Icey water for a few seconds it becomes tolerable and is quite a refreshment from the 22-28 degree temps we had during our stay. Would definetely go back :)

booked to stay at briamar apartments 13th feb till 20th feb 2013 ( booked 14th july 2012 ) , but after long day we were told that cannot stay here as rooms flooded ? . got shipped off by taxi to hotel arena and got dumped into small room with 2 x beds at the end of our bed . next day went back to brisamar to see if they had any rooms , but no . went back to arena and found that brisamar had rang and told them that we were not happy .so they upgraded us to poolside suite which had sun all day and even seperate bedroom :):). . we found room lovely and as by pool we didnt neeed to lock door and could use apartment as needed . food in restaurant was ok , but not fantastic , breakfast was ok and one morning even had some lovely doughnuts , people say spirits were sh--e , but i found them ok and even got wobbly one day on rum and honey . bars ok and staff worked hard to ensure all was ok . oscar was around all day and tried to get you involved . kida loved him . only problem we found was that as we had booked at brisamar which is 1 min to town , hotel arena is about 25 mins walk into town , but fair play to brisamar they offered to pay all taxi fares if we needed to go into town . would say arena is for couples mainly as we were virtually only people there with children , but good job as met some people from bridgwater ( near burnham on sea ) who gave us free passes to their soft play area ( THE WILLOWS BRIDGWATER ) which kids have been to before and enjoyed .... overall this hotel was enjoyable and would reccommend if quiet is your thing

Room Tip: suites are poolside and great

I agree with what everyone else has said about this hotel. The good points are the cleanliness and friendly staff that are willing to help at all times. The room was large with a nice bathroom and balcony. The pool was monitored reguarly during the day and was spotless. There were enough sunbeds which were reserved with people leaving towels on them even though in the hotel information they said you would be fined for doing this but this was not policed. The food was repetive and only just warm and we soon became bored with it and went out for dinner. The drinks were good and I don't think they were watered down. Free water to top up bottles which was very useful especially in the heat of the day. Ensure you take high factor sun lotion as the sun is very strong and with the wind you burn very easily. There is a sun cream expert at the hotel to advise if you do get burnt. The entertainment was patchy and the guys who run it were not organised and prizes and dipolmas were not always available even if promised earlier in the day. The hotel was quite far from the resort about 25 minutes walk and was dark and lonely when walking back at night. The beach and sand dunes were the opposite direction and again approximately 45 minutes walk but well worth it. The beach is lovely with golden sand and beautiful blue sea. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would rate this hotel more of a 3 star than 4 star.

We visited the hotel arena at the end of February 2013. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the town centre, in a nice little area, near to other apartments and hotels. We had a bottom floor room, unfortunately not facing the sun! The room was clean and well presented, as was the bathroom. Food at the restaurant is served at certain times, when the restaurant is closed the pool bar is open which has self service drinks and food which can be made up for you (chips, toasties etc). The best member of staff by far is Alvaro who is at the pool bar for the majority, lovely man! Can't fault any of the other staff, although I asked at reception if someone could look at our door (the handle/lock was faulty and kept locking us in the apartment!) but no-one did. Towels are changed and rooms cleaned everyday and the cleaner lady is so friendly! There is an on site entertainer as part of the all inclusive package, personally, I don't need entertaining and will quite happily entertain myself but the offer was there if we wanted it. It has two pools and two little pools, one of the pools is heated which is much appreciated! Overall I would say this hotel is more 3 star than 4 star, but I did enjoy my stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a pool view and preferably one that faces the sun!
