ClubHotel Riu Oliva Beach Resort
Ranked #17 of 45 Hotels in Corralejo

For the money we paid we thought this was great value. Very clean everywhere. No 'special' vegetarian food but lots of vegetable dishes, pasta etc. Never much of a queue for drinks or serve yourself.
This is really 2 sites - annexe and hotel each with its own pool and restaurant. The annexe restaurant was only open for breakfast whilst we were there but it advertised opening for evening meals from end of Feb. Evening entertainment was only in the main hotel.
We, for the first time ever did not leave the site once, as we went for a last minute rest. We enjoyed lounging round the pool - loads of sunloungers left (perhaps because the weather wasn't brilliant whilst we were there) walking along the beach and paddling. The kite surfers are amazing to watch (I counted 24 at once if you walked 5 mins from the hotel) We also really enjoyed the riu fit programme. We did stretch and body exercising (very gentle) at 10.30 followed by aquafit in the pool at 11.30 (great fun) and then aerobics or zumba some afternoons (harder!) People were very friendly and instructors were great.
There was a massive queue to check in but after 20 mins or so we were sent off to lunch and told to come back later which was a good idea. Reception staff very helpful.
All in all we loved it and would go back again. Some people have said it is need of refurbishing but we thought it was fine and if it was done up we probably wouldn't be able to afford to go again!

Room Tip: On advice we asked for a pool view(south facing) but were told are room was in the annexe. There ar...

I booked this all inclusive holiday with First choice for a week in the end of February 2014 with my fiance.

On arrival at hotel, we were given our all inclusive wristband and we went straight for a lunch time snack as our room wasn't ready. Salad options aswell as burger and chips. There was bar staff on hand to serve you wine beer soft drinks slushie or cocktails...or you could help yourself at the self service area.

We then got room keys...twin room with balcony and sea view. Room was good..private bathroom, tv, fridge, hairdryer, balcony..very clean. Beautiful view from balcony. Sun didn't reach us though we didn't mind as we didn't spend much time on the balcony but if you want the sun, request a pool view. Beds were pushed together but didn't mind as they were huge and comfortable. Asked for extra pillows and blankets which was no problem. (Room was slightly chilly at night...only air con available...might of been because I was burnt though! Haha!)

Hotel had 2 outdoor pools and a jacuzzi. Slightly heated..cold initially until you get in. Jacuzzi was great! Plenty of sun beds.

Games room has ping pong, pool, air hockey and a small fuzball table. Games scheduled by staff around the hotel during the day also inc beach volleyball, tennis, football, darts (in the wind and board on a tree), pistol/rifle/air gun shooting, waterpolo + more. Also had keep fit classes on throughout the day.

Breakfast/lunch/dinner...excellent! Loads of choice that suits everyone! Plenty of food! In between were snacks near pool which was also pretty good..I never ate this much as was always stuffed from main meals!

Small shops in hotel which sell clothes, sweets and gifts. Prices were very reasonable.

Wifi was available in lobby only...was €20 for the week for one device. Busy times made the internet slower but wasnt an issue for checking emails/websites on phone.

Weather was great although wind could make you feel slightly chilly. Shorts and tshirt was fine though and there were loads of people in bikini's not minding the wind so maybe just me!

Not much in the area of hotel except the beautiful beach. Sea was cold but ok once you were in. Only seen surfers once or twice as sea was quite rough - mostly red flag out so no swimming was permitted. Could still paddle though!
The main town of corralejo was €7 in a taxi or €1.20 each way on the bus. We walked a few times which took roughly 45 minutes.

Booked 2 day trips with thomson... catlanza and oasis park (zoo). Had a fantastic time at both.

Catlanza was a 4 hour tour..on a catamaran boat. Picked up from hotel and taken to corralejo harbour to start the trip. Served a nice pasta lunch and drinks that were all inclusive. Boat was stopped a few hundred metres from player blanca were we had a jet ski ride and got to snorkle in the sea. Sea was freezing and I didn't see any fish but was a brilliant experience. Cost roughly €54 per person.

Oasis park was also fantastic...roughly €18 for the park entrance. We paid another €12 for a 35 minute camel ride. Great fun! We then roamed the park..fed the animals and watched the shows put on. Very good! Also had lunch in the park which was good value for money!

Had a fantastic time in fuertventura and would fully recommend the riu oliva beach hotel!!

We stayed at the Riu Oliva Beach from the 12th Feb to the 26th. the weather was mixed. we stopped in the annex rooms, which were clean and tidy, the cleaners do a fantastic job keeping them spotless. However they are dated, but that didn't bother us. Yes the tv's are old but do you go on holiday to watch tv. We hired a car from a chap round the corner next to the shop, great service. We had done the whole island with stops in a day. Little to see really but ok. The pool area was kept clean as tidy, however if you want a certain spot you'll have to be up early to beat the Germans, it does say you can't reserve but nobody upheld the rule from what I could see. The reception staff were polite and helpful, they called our room as we arrived to check all was ok, they also called again half way through the holiday to ask if everything was ok, good customer service. The thomson reps dan and Alex were helpful and on hand. The entertainment team did a great job although its very much towards the German residents, they work hard as a team and are always happy and polite. The food was good and there was always something you could find to eat, but the room is a bit like butlins, and you need to be prepared for rude people pushing in and queuing, well non existent, which starts to grate on the nerves after a while, my advice tell them straight, we queue you need to to!! Having spent two weeks in Egypt last years we thought the Russians were rude, but the Germans are a very close second. Overall a pleasant holiday with very good staff from the cleaners to reception to the bar staff. Yes the rooms aren't modern but they serve as a base for your holiday, wish the weather had been better, but it gave us the opportunity to walk to Corrolajo and back, this has some good shops and restaurants. The kite surfers on the beach are great to sit and watch. We also went to Oasis Park (zoo), free bus from the Hotel enjoyed the day wondering round.
Would we return probably for a week as a rest.

Situated on the glorious sandy beach the hotel provides an ideal base. Our room was blessed with a huge , sheltered balcony with all-day sunshine. Food was good quality and nicely presented with lots of choice. All the staff were friendly and helpful. If you are a reader take your own books as there are very few to swap. This hotel is well worth a visit.

We stayed on the 19th Feb - 26th Feb.This Hotel is in need of major refurbishment, the rooms are dated and overall the Hotel is tired. Having said that the staff are very helpful and friendly and probably made our stay better than it could have been. The rooms are clean and the food is very good in all the restaurants. The entertainment is also good and the bars are pleasant to sit in at night with the service very good. There is a games room for cards and board games which is also a great way to pass an evening The setting right on the beach is the perfect location and major upgrading is required to make this the Hotel it could be. C'mon Riu spend some money

We stayed as a couple aged 22 from 12th Feb for 1week all incl, weather was sunny & very windy. We were given a room in the annexe, it was lovely, top floor room 2308, had a nice view over the beach and dunes. Bathroom very large with a powerful shower. The beach is stunning, you can walk for miles. Food & drinks in hotel were great. Night time entertainment was OK although you need a seat at the front to be able to see well. There are two restaurants other than the main buffet which you have to book we tried the Mandarin (Chinese based cuisine) lovely – you must wear trousers as a man. We took a taxi to Corralejo (7euro each way) to the bars a few nights, I would recommend Flicks Karaoke bar. We also went for lovely meals at Fazz’ Indian restaurant and La Scarpetta De Mario (Italien) highly recommend both. We booked 2days surfing lessons for beginners with 7Island Surf School it was AMAZING 45Euro per day. We visited Oasis Park (the zoo) it was brilliant, free bus picks you up outside the hotel in the morning and it’s an hours drive away, they have camel rides and you can feed all the animals with a fruit bag they give you on arrival for 1Euro. All in I cannot fault this hotel we had a lovely stay, we even went to the Diskoteca some nights, the music was good! Would definitely return!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the annexe room 2308 view over sand dunes
