Worst night out for a long time. Poor staff atmosphere and really uncomfortable seats. Menue looked good but starter of avacado and prawns was swamped with pineapple orange and some other unpleasant fruit. The main course of spaghetti bolognese must have come out of a tin probably cat food. The fillet steak was so tough it could not be eaten and all main courses were sent back uneaten with the staff not in the least bit interested. To cap it all we were charged 24euros for a campo viejo wine costing 6euros in the shops a bit over the top and hidden on the menue with us thinking it was 14euros. A row had the price reduced.
Save yourself from this place I should have been alerted when I saw chinese cooks in a supposed italian resturant.

We read some favourable reviews on this restaurant and thought we would give it a go. We had visited Corralejo for several years and were looking to go somewhere we had not tried before. One thing for sure, we won't be going again!

The restaurant is billed as 'Pasta, Pizza and Steak House' , with pictures of Italian landmarks on their advertising material, so it was a bit of a surprise to find that the chef was Chinese - however, it was pleasant enough inside. Service was adequate from a rather bored waiter. There were three of us in the party, (experienced diners). Two members had a prawn and avacado starter which was passable but unusually had quite a lot of fruit in it. The other starter was Minestrone soup which was excellent and really enjoyable. The meal went downhill from there. Two of us had spaghetti bolognese which bore no resemblance to anything we had ever had anywhere (Italians would have wept). The dollop of finely ground 'meat' was red/orange and looked and tasted like it could have been tinned. The other meal was mushroom fillet steak, which also came with some sort of fruit. The steak was tough. The food was hot and well presented, but we all left most of it and the waiter looked surprised when we said it was very poor. He did say 'what do you expect if you have your steak well done'!

We asked for the bill and were amazed to find that the wine had cost E24 - for a bottle of Campo Viejo Rioja which could be purchased in any other restaurant for a maximum of E16 (shops E6). To be fair it was our fault because they had done the old trick of putting a bottle of wine on the table before we went in and we missed the very tiny print that it was 'Reserva' and more expensive. However, it was still grossly overpriced and in view of the very poor meal, we were not prepared to pay in full. After a bit of grumbling the waiter reduced the cost of the wine to a more reasonable E14.

We left the restaurant hungry but decided that perhaps they had done our waistlines a favour, if not our pockets! If anyone goes to 'Little Italy' (ha ha) be wary of your choices and check the price of the wine very carefully. We would have given the place one star but gave an extra one for the Minestrone soup!

We have stayed in the Barcelo many times and this restaurant is so handy for eating as it is literally just a couple of minutes walk away. We have eaten quite a bit and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The menu is good and the food is always quick to be served and hot. The prices are not over expensive and all in all this makes for a very pleasant evening out. Would definitely recommend.
