“Home-Cooked food in a compact bistro with loads of character”
Reviewed October 30, 2009

I discovered the Casbah, almost by accident, whilst on holiday a few weeks ago. Michael, the chef-owner, is clearly a decent guy with a passion for what he does best, namely great burgers with all the trimmings, chip-shop chips, tasty chicken wraps with Colman's mustard among the various dressings; and Bombay Sapphire Gin!

It's a tiny place, with room for a mere two tables inside. The street is currently (Oct 09) being refurbished and there is much upheaval for Michael, who is struggling valiantly to survive. Unlike many, he remains open. The bull-dog spirit!

Michael prepares your meal freshly, so be prepared to wait ten minutes. It is worth the wait.

Prices are very reasonable, less expensive than the big, main restaurants. If you're chatting to Michael, tell him Tim from Belfast sends his compliments and wishes him well!
