the only thing that I don't like about this walk is that if you want to carry on to Puig de Teix the route to the summit has been blocked!
still there are a couple of good routes around the Archduke Way so enjoy

Do not miss the Archiduke way. It is not easy to find. But you, that are a semi expert walker in the forest (not recommended for beguinners) will find the way. Do not go without walking shoes. It is not affordable to go with filp-flaps or beach shoes. It is a mountain climbing walk. The views of Mallorca north coast and mountains is unbeatable.

Challenging, beautiful and worth every hairpin bend and crazy coach driver coming in the other direction. This stretch of road leads to some areas of real delight.

Spectacular hike on superbly engineered carriage path from the 17th century, running to the tops of high peaks and along the vey edge of 1,500 foot sheet drops with the Mediterranean 2,700 feet below.

Fantastic views after some not too difficult walking, some peering over steep edges not for the faint hearted. Paths up from Valdemossa are easily followed with a map once you've left town, but manageable without. We completed the descent into Deia which was less obvious, steep and sometimes covered with tall grasses (trousers better than shorts).
