“One of the best holidays we have ever had.”

We had a one bedroomed apartment and it was very spacious with a huge balcony. Pool area great and the kids pool was perfect with both a baby pool and a young childrens pool. Huge praise to the animation team who work very hard all day long. My 3 year old absolutely loved Jessy who ran the the hotels kids club, who was excellent with all the kids. Mostly german, but
she was multi-lingual so was not a problem. The water aerobics at lunchtime every day was so much fun and I have never really been into joining in, but couldn't resist as the team were
so enthusiastic. We were self catering, so ate out in Sa Coma most nights. Plenty of choice of restaurants in the resort., We also strolled along the seafron (20 mins) up to S'Illot and found some nice seafront restaurants. Would definately recommend this hotel. We went with Thomson and maybe we would go back and try the all inclusive next time.

Room Tip: Request a room looking over the pool.

Spent a week in the Vista Badia in Sa Coma end of July / beg of August with my husband and two girls (2 and 6). The hotel is well positioned (close to beach and small family friendly resort) and spotlessly clean!! The room was fantastic- a large apartment, kitchen area, flat screen tv, separate bedroom and lovely bathroom.

Food- very busy restaurant but catered for a range of tastes. fab 'show cooking' but be aware you have a long wait! My family had all finished their meals by the time mine was cooked. There are other themed restaurants as part of the complex of the three hotels, but you need to book into these restaurants by walking to the 'Clubhouse' (5 min walk away)and start queueing at 8 am even though it doesn't open until 9 am! We managed to get in to the Tapas restaurant which was very nice (and nice to be served) . If your kids (like mine) don't like spaghetti, you can request fish fingers but they don't offer this unless you ask. The grill restaurant (in Safari Park) was nice too and you can opt to sit outside next to a little duck pond.

The paradise park was aptly named as it is an added bonus for little ones. Very clean, well designed and supervised. Trampolines, go- karts, two parks and a wonderful pool area with small water slides. Not suitable for older children though.

The 'La reserva' waterpark was an excellent day out. We had to pay a small supplement as we were all inclusive guests, and people who were self catering had to pay extra. However, the food and drink inside is all inclusive, no charge for beds etc. This is suitable for younger and older children. Wonderful pool area with toddler pool, slides etc and faster chutes for more adventurous.

Entertainment in hotel was excellent. Children's disco nightly at 8.30. (Make sure you get outside by ten past 8 for a good seat!) Adult entertainment 9.30 ish- a wide range of shows, acts, quizzes all to an excellent standard!

This has been the best family holiday ever! the children absolutely loved every minute, therefore we had a ball! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone with a family but think it's too busy for a 'couple's' holiday. We stayed in the complex for the duration as there was so much to do there and for the first time, we didn't bother with a hire car as we didn't need one!

There's a local bus stop at the bottom of the road outside the hotel and also a land train which goes to nearby resorts every half hour.

If you choose this hotel, you won't be disappointed!!

Room Tip: We were at the back of the hotel and was quite quiet.

Myself (33) my husband (35) son (2.5) & Mother (53) stayed at the Protur Vista Badia for our weeks summer holiday at the start of August.
ROOMS
We booked 2 rooms do we had plenty space to do our own thing. Me, husband & son had a pool view with a huge balcony! My Mam had a view of the front of the hotel which was facing the sister hotel Safari. Our room was noisy at night due to the very poor may I add entertainment! But the shows weren't on too late so that wasn't too bad.
The rooms overall were spotless and very roomy. You had a separate room with 2 almost double beds joined together in. The living area had 2 sofa beds in but we made one of these up in the bedroom with me & my husband as didn't feel the balcony door was very secure for our 2.5yr old son!
The maids had every Tuesday & Saturday off but if you needed anything you just had to ask reception & nothing was a problem.
FOOD
The food in the main restaurant situated within the hotel was your normal Spanish choice of food including salads, cheese, breads, hot dishes etc. there was also show cooking on most nights such as stir frys, steaks, kebabs. But beware its very oily they use tons to dry the meat in! Bit on the other hand it was very nice.
You also had a choice if 4 other restaurants situated within the Protur complex of 4 other hotels to visit during your stay. The only catch was that you had to queue on a morning by 8.15 to guarantee getting a ticket to eat there.
The 4 choices were:
Italian, Argentinian, Spanish Tapas, Country Grill.
We were fortunate to visit them all.
I enjoyed them all apart from the the Soanish Tapas which really isn't my thing.
LOCATION
This to me was very poor the resort itself was very quiet & not much to do at all outside the hotel. We went AI so didn't plan on going out much at night but due to the very poor entertainment we had to!
There was very few bars close by and the couple we found we just your normal karaoke, singers(Tina Turner, 4 Tops, Steps etc) they were ok better than the hotel.
We did enjoy taking a bus ride to the local Cala Milor about 20 minutes travel. There were lots of shops lots more choice than Sa Coma itself.
ENTERTAINMENT
Very very very poor the whole show was commentated in German & the actual performances a few were sang in English. Even the kids entertainment before the main show started was in 100% German!!! It was ok I suppose by the end of the week as you got to know the songs even if they were in German!
VALUE FOR MONEY
We always tend to go on out summer holidays in August so always have to pay a high price but overall I don't think what we payed was worth the money!
We won't be coming bk to this hotel in a hurry! This is meant to be a Platnium hotel & Thomson guarantee you are first drop off & last pick up! This wasn't the case!! Get this sorted Thomson not good enough!

We spent 10 days with 2 kids (5 and 8) in July in the Vista Badia. The weather was great, the beach is lovely (very fine sand) and crystal-clear water. Also quite shallow, so warm and safe for kids. It's about a 10-15 minutes walk to the beach, either trough the town (along loads of really tatty shops) or through part of the nature park (which brings you to the rocky part of the beach).

We chose the select-apartment because of the bigger balcony and the two connected rooms. The setup of the apartment is great and the balcony very spacious. All select rooms are facing the pool, which is also nice, but means that you face the stage where the shows are taking place; every night until about 11:30 pm. Shows are quite loud, even with closed windows. Some afternoons there are dress rehersals at the same stage (just imaging ABBA's Mamamia non-stop), so not much chance for kids to rest after lunch or before midnight.

Food-wise there is the in-house restaurant and an option to eat at any of the 4 restaurants (once per stay). There were lots and lots of people at the in-house restaurant and we lost our table a couple of times in the middle of the meal when we went to get deserts or more drinks and did not leave a marker on the table. There is "show-cooking" where your food is freshly prepared, but you will have to wait up to 30 minutes for it in a queue, which makes eating together as a family impossible. There is a large choice of food, but don't expect any gourmet-surprises. Often the food is luke-warm and gravy lovers will have a great time!

We tried out the four different restaurants as well. All except the Italian are buffet/self-serve and the food really isn't that different from what is served at the hotel in-house restaurant. You need to book for all of them, either at the clubhouse or at the reception if you have the select-option. They tend to be booked up quickly, so don't bother trying to book aftre 9am. The Italian is very slow (we spent about 2 hours there) and if you don't arrive early, you will have to sit inside (expect the air-con to be on shock-freeze).

Food at the pool bar for lunch was the same for the whole duration of our stay: for kids deep fried bits (?), chips, pasta; as well as salad, bread, burger-style meat and kebap for grown ups. Selected ice creams are free for AI guests, as are many drinks and coffee. We also came across a cocktail-machine at one of the restaurants, where you could get a PinaColada and other cocktails by pressing a button on the cocktain machine (!!).

I would definitely recommend hiring bicycles and cycling through the national park to the nearby castle (~20 minutes) and the neighbouring beaches. You will need to leave a deposit of Euro 10 for each bike and need to return the bikes by 5:45. This is a shame as it's only late afternoon that the sun is less harsh and bikeriding becomes enjoyable. For bikes and all other sports you will need to go to the clubhouse (approx. 10 min walk); don't get held back by the rather rude guy who runs the clubhouse. Kids' bike helmets are only available in one size and the suggestion for my son, for whom the helmet was visibly too small, was to just push it down harder!

The pools are great: two pools are very shallow for small children, the other main pool has different depths with a small shallower end (1.2 m) where all watersports are taking place. If you would like to sit together as a family around the pool, you will need to get up - like all other guests - and reserve sunbeds and umbrellas early. There aren't enough umbrellas for all the beds, and if you don't get an umbrella expect to be baking all day. Expect rows and rows of sunbeds, one next to the other with only a few centimers in between.

There is also light animation during the day, a kids club in the morning and afternoon and the nightly show. Don't expect too much from the show; one of the "highlights" was a competition of who can drink a glass of beer, eat a biscuit and whistle the fastest. Mr. Lukas and Vis from the animation team were outstanding and fun to watch.

We wouldn't probably go to Protur Vista Badia again because of the size of the hotel and the nightly entertainment that was just too late and too loud if you are looking for a relaxing and quiet time, but overall an ok holiday.

Room Tip: Select apartments have large balconies, all are facing the pool and will be noisy until about 11:30...

This is the first time we have been on holiday in the school holidays and it was too busy for us. Lovely apartment, spacious, very clean and flat screen TV with English channels. the pool was nice but far too many people with sun beds rammed together in strict regimented lines! You are not allowed to move them onto grass. Beds are reserved from 7.30 am and people do not come to them till mid morning! Guests not very friendly probably because of the mix of nationalities. great for our boys of 11 and 8 as plenty of sports for them. Queues for food and queues to book for water park. a lot of pushing in! Lovely hotel with lots to do for boys but too busy for us and pool beds too close together. Would not go again.

Just got back from July holiday. Our first visit to Sa Coma and to this hotel. Overall impressions were very good. As others have said, hotel is spotless, and the rooms are cleaned 5 days a week. Pool is great, although the sunbeds are rammed together quite closely. Food is good, if a little dull. Wine is very drinkable :-), which is not always the case in other AI hotels. 5 minute walk from the beach. As there are 3 or 4 other Protur hotels on the complex, the pool can get busy as guests from these other hotels come to this pool, but not a massive problem. Evening shows were fine provided you werent expecting to be seriously entertained. Dont go for the chinese option in the restuarant. It takes ages, and I mean ages! Instead, have the grilled fish / meat - much quicker. If possible, dont eat until afer 8pm - hardly anyone in at that time.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front (even numbers) of the hotel overlook the car park.

We had a great holiday, In a 1 bed apartment very clean ideal for our family my husband me and my 10 yr old and 15 yr old, we stayed self catering and glad we did as there are some fantastic places to eat out locally and very cheaply.
The only down side was there was not enough sun beds although they also did not allow you to reserve thebedwith towels either, a life guard checks and if needs be removes towels.
The staff are very nice, as are the cleaners etc.
We hope to go back again soon
