“Good value for money”
Reviewed September 19, 2012 via mobile

We visited Mallorca towards end of August. We were 2 couples and each had a 2 year old kid.

Positives
- the rooms were spacious and well maintained. We stayed on the ground floor 'Twin Select'. The extrs space outside the rooms and access to gardens was totally worth extra 110 euros for 5 nights
- location is very good as the closest beach is 10min walk
- plenty of variety for breakfast and dinner as we had taken the half board option

Negatives
- quality of food leaves a lot to be desired. There is more than enough variety as mentioned above but it lacks taste and flavour.
- hotel offers choice of dinner at 1 of their 4 restaurants on 1 night of your stay as part of the half board option. Tat was totally not worth it. Probably the worst tapas restaurant I have ever been to.
- wine options are limited and we tried a few bottles but they were almost undrinkable.
- wireless Internet didn't work in our room
- house keeping was a hit-n-miss. If you missed the morning time then there wasnt anyone to clean it up later.
- club house isn't well maintained and inconvenient as you can't book activities from your hotel desk and have to go there.

Overall, it's average. There are 4 hotels in the same area owned by them. I am assuming the 5 star one doesn't have these issues.

I've just returned from 4 nights in the Sa Coma Playa and had a great time. Everything was perfect, from the modern room, the amazing food in the buffet, the pools, and the friendly staff. A special mention to Chez, who was one of the Manager, who was always smiling.
Sa Coma itself is not the nicest resort in the world, but with a decent beach and this hotel we had a great time.

I go to this wonderful hotel for several reasons....The great warm welcome from All the staff...they are the most hospitable staff with warmth I have ever encountered. truely lovely people. lovely modern airy rooms with double shower and minimalist features in calming colours and textures. The dining room is outstanding with a wide choice and show cooking of top quality food and service in there is very very warm and professional and friendly. In addition, there is a special spanish restaurant upstairs as well as other food choices in group hotels. an ideal holiday if you want a home from home in a quiet area near to the bustle and the lovely delightful beach at Sa Coma a short walk away. Give the Sa Coma Playa a try... you wont be disapointed.. Tell Chej i sent you Best wishes George

I can honestly say this completely exceeded my expectations, we stayed for a week in July and came from a friends recommendation. I cannot fault it at all, I have had some indifferent experiences at holiday hotels and in years of going abroad this is one of a small number I would gladly return to.  The staff were excellent as was the food. The rooms are very spacious, the decor is a high standard and the bed was as comfy as my own. In fact I would buy one if I knew where to get one!

We stayed here for 8 nights returning home yesterday the second visit this year. We have been here several times now and have never been disappointed. Everyone is so friendly polite and helpful nothing is too much trouble. Ramon,Chej and the staff work long hours to ensure their guests are happy and cannot do enough for you.Thank you Chej for making my husbands birthday special. Every time we have been to this hotel we meet people who we have seen before so in my opinion this is the best advert you can have and also people who are there for the first time say they will go back again.

i stayed here with my fiance for 11 nights in august 2012 and had the best holiday ever.it is in a great location with the beach only a 5-10 min walk away, and what a beach, golden sand, crystal clear waters, not too crowded and plenty to do nearby.if you like a bit of nightlife then cala millor is only about a 15 minute walk away or you can catch the bus or get a taxi really cheap.the shopping is better in cala millor at night but cala bona is right next to it and is really peaceful.we visited these places as the entertainment in the hotel is the only thing which lets it down which ended up costing us more money as we drank elsewhere at night.if you can put up with awful singers and dancers then the drink choice in the hotel is very good on all inclusive, the baileys is the real deal!!!! the best part of this hotel is without doubt the food.i am a vegetarian and never got bored of the choices, even if i was sticking to my diet there would have been a good selection every day.you cant diet when the desserts are so good though, lots of little miniature tasters to choose from and most of them were really tasty, especially the rice pudding and coconut milk doughnuts.there are plenty of different salads with a different theme every day and lots of fruit.i love churros at breakfast but i prefer them hot,the hash browns are good and there is continental breakfast too.there is fresh food cooked to order on the wok or the grill every day which my fiance enjoyed.at the start of the holiday we got the option of one night dining in one of the 4 a la carte restaurants.we chose the italian but with only 3 night left of our holiday we had not been allocated a reservation so we enquired at reception and eventually got in on our last night,i do think if we had not made a fuss we would not have got in though.the meal was nice even though the tiramisu wasnt authentic and it was nice to relax in a posh restaurant instead of the hectic dining room.the rooms are modern with a very comfy bed, nice bathroom, air con, balcony,tv,and a mini bar which gets replenished but not every day.the hotel is much nicer on the inside and if it got a makeover outside i think it would look more like a 5 star.the rooms were clean but the daily maid service was not upto our usual standard, just a cat lick and the beds made in a fashion.the gym is basic but pay an extra 6 euros and you can use the gym in the biomar which is amazing,i got a little help from the personal trainer the first time and recieved some good tips.after the gym you should visit the pool which has jacuzzi seats and beds, massaging fountains and jets, hot jacuzzi, ice bath, saunas and steam room,we felt so relaxed all day and you get it for half price because it is a sister hotel right nextdoor-we went twice.there are two outdoor pools, the one near the bar was busy and noisy so we always parked ourselves at the quiet one near the playground.they were clean and a good temperature but afew of the fixtures and fittings could do with tightening.you can always get a sunbed any time of day even though some people still put towels down and go away for half the day, very selfish!!!there was an indoor pool which is great if you want to do afew metres in peace.well maintained and never busy but i wish people would use the shower before entering, especially if they have come straight from the gym or have sun lotion on!!! you can hire bikes for free, just a deposit, and it is a great place to cycle round with paths everywhere, would reccommend.we went on afew trips while we were there-YOU MUST GO TO SEE PIRATES !!! AMAZING !!! the caves of drach are pointless, you cant even take photos and the bit at the end where a boat sails in with classical musicians aboard is just weird and boring.the catamaran is boring for children, just good if you want sunburn.the trip to the orange blossom train had to be the most boring day of the holiday.the waterpark is fun though.i would return to majorca in the future as it is beautiful and this hotel is a good choice but with afew tweeks here and there it could be fantastic.

Room Tip: i personally wouldnt pay any extra for a select room because we were above one and you could see the...

Our son begged to go back here, and so we did. It is a fab hotel, it is very family orientated tho. The staff are all amazing, the manager and Chej are amazing. The sofa bed is ideal for toddlers as its very low. I went to the Biomar Spa 3 times, i have been to spa's in LA and this was well up there with the best.
The hotel is 4 star but sadly Sa Coma isn't, the resort is dowdy, and not been updated since the 80s. There is more that enough going on in the hotel tho to keep you and kids entertained. Aurora at the mini club is fantastic, she basically runs it single handed as her help is not helpful.
