This is a 3-star hotel and you get exactly what you pay for here. Food is above average, lots of choice and plentiful. We stayed in an oversized room(119 on the first floor)as we were 3 adults together, though we weren't initially allocated this room,we had to persuade the receptionist we wouldn't accept 2 separate rooms as we had specifically asked for 1 room between us on booking. No problem after that was sorted, our room was more than big enough for 3 adults and all their baggage(though having no balcony was the trade-off!). Pool is a little on the small side and loungers are not unoccupied for long, but there is an overflow sun-terrace up a few stairs at the back of the pool, where there's loads of space and plenty of extra loungers. Staff are good, especially the daytime staff on reception who speak a variety of languages and are very helpful. We were half-board,most were on all-inclusive,but despite having no wrist-bands we were still able to occasionally help ourselves to the 'free' drinks during the daytime,no one seemed to bother who was using the self-service drinks facilities. Local area has lots going on,plenty of bars, souvenir shops, and restaurants. Prices for local lager start at 2 euros and average between 2 and 2.5 euros. We found one bar 5 minutes walk away which served draught Mahou at 1.75 euros a pint! Beach is close by and very sandy and flat with beach-bars at regular intervals, though they do charge more for the privilege of drinking with a sea-view! All in all this hotel delivers a 3-star service and is great value for money,so I have no hesitation in giving it a 'very good' rating.

Just got back from Hotel Boccaccio all inclusive. in Alcudia, 28/06/2012. Had a great time. The food was very good and a decent choice at every meal, ignore reviews that state the opposite, these are written by people who eat 3 star michelin food every night or maccy dees & fries. Staff very friendly, rooms small but clean but only for sleeping in. The beach is 2 min walk max and is gorgeous no matter what other reviews say. Alcudia is very nice especially the old town. Definately going again next year. Last comment I think that there are certain reviews on here that have been written by people that have never been to the hotel are have a poor grasp of truth (people who rated terrible) Do not let them put you off.

Just got back from Hotel Boccaccio all inclusive. in Alcudia, 16/06/2012. Had a great time, weather hot, Self service buffet in the dining hall. Food was very good with good choice. All staff very pleasant and friendly. The bar has self service larger, fizzy drinks and a good tea/coffee machine plus bar staff serving wines, spirits etc. Also there is the Hotel beach bar about five minutes walk from the hotel which is included in the all inclusive deal. Serves same as above plus a variety of snacks all afternoon. Pool bar also open at certain times through the day /evening at certain times only. There is a pool I have to say it is small, there is also a terrace top area for sunbathing or general recreation which looks over the giant lake, quite interesting. Plenty of shops, super markets, restaurants and such like within two minutes walk the hotel more than you can shake a stick at. Absolutely loads. The main cliental was German, don’t let this put you off, I have found over the years the Germans only use good Hotels, if they are there, then it will be good. We got on fine with the Germans & fellow Brits and there is a nice atmosphere there. The bedrooms and bathrooms are a little small by today’s standards but they are cleaned daily etc. The outside kids Disco in the evening is a must. Entertainment was on some evenings only, one night was a duet on keyboards & vocals and another night was a couple doing circus style acrobatics. Very good indeed. Overall we had a great time and it was very good value for money, if you have booked here I am sure you will enjoy it!

The hotel is very old and run-down. The rooms smell and is practically falling apart. Food is very bad and drinks taste like they would come from the sewer. The sea smells like toxic waste and the beach is horrific, actually the whole island is more like a getto than a holiday resort nowadays. Lots of poor people with no class around. Had a weeks reservation but flew home the next day, total waste of time. Don't go here!

Arrived back yesterday (26th May) after spending a week all inclusive at this hotel. We traveled as a party of 9 which included 2 one year old boys. The staff at this hotel are the friendliest and most helpful hotel staff I have ever encountered, after one meal they reserved us a special table for the rest of the holiday to ensure that we could all eat together.
The food was lovely and well presented, plenty to choose from. All the meats were of the highest quality with no fat.
The all inclusive drinks are plentiful with the drinks served in glasses and not plastic cups like so many other all inclusive hotels. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, san miguel lager and fizzy drinks are all self service. All the wines were good quality and the sangria was lovely. Slushies are available too. Tubs of ice cream are available for adults as well as children.
The rooms could do with refurbishment but all the downstairs areas are very pretty with lots of glass and flowers making it cool and airy.
The hotel owns a bar on the beach which is about 7 minutes walk along the beach. The setting is perfect. It has plenty of tables and chairs with umbrellas to keep out of the sun plus plenty of sun loungers. The bar has its own toilets too, a god send when on the beach. As well as drinks the bar provides lunch outside between 1pm and 2.30pm.
The little boys in our party fell in love with the entertainment staff and went to the mini disco every evening. For the adults there were quizzes and games and a really good flamenco show. Even though the majority of guests in this hotel are german and polish everyone was friendly and the staff made a big effort to include us in everything.
Would definitely go back to this hotel again and again.

Spent one week in this hotel from 8-15th April which was too early in the year for decent weather, however, this didn't spoil our stay here. We were on an all-inclusive basis which we could not fault. The lunch and dinner were excellent, however, the breakfast was the only let-down, not much choice and ham, cheese and streaky bacon gets a bit repetitive after a few days, however, there are plenty of good places for a "proper" breakfast nearby. This hotel is excellent value for money and is only a couple of minutes walk to the beach. The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly and fairly helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel because of the fantastic location, however, I would not return again this early in the year because not many places are open but if you want a very quiet relaxing holiday/hotel then this is definitely the place to go to. I would prefer to return later on in the summer. There was nightly entertainment which consisted of a game of bingo and some dancing. All the other guests were either Spanish, German or English and we found them to be friendly, courteous and mannerly.

Room Tip: Our room was tiny but we knew this from previous reviews and I don't know if there are any large...
